By now there are plenty of positive reviews on this phone already out there but the things that made me choose over others was A) I can go to any carrier with the unlocked version (same is true for any unlocked phone), B) It came without any of the bloatware you would find in the carrier models, and C) (the main reason I picked this over others) the ability to hook this up with the DEX dock to act as a basic PC. If you have a chromebook or have used a chromebook in the past, this phone can basically turn into one with the dock and runs most all apps. Some things to note, this uses a micro sim card, if the sim card on your phone shows white along the edges then it won't fit and will require you to go to your carrier to get it cropped. Also, for those who don't like using cases, this isn't going to be the phone for you. I came from an S5 Active, which had a "built in" case already and was very durable. This S8 is a high-end phone but is seemingly more fragile so a case will be needed if you want to keep it looking fresh for a while.

Battery is better than expected. Many issues with GPS signal dropping and calls dropping. I liked many things about the S5 better but the S8 is a beautiful phone with a much better camera. BIXBY is pretty useless. Cannot disable phone wake from hard press on the front screen home button location - poor oversight. It turns on very easily in your pocket.

At first I was skeptical about the price of the phone. The Samsung guy showed me some of the things I could do with the phone, I was blown away, of course coming from S4 to S8! I LOVE the picture quality. My pictures look professional now. I work in real estate and take a lot of pictures. Win Win for me! Bixby is the best, which is similar to Siri but 10x better. Its water resistant & can take some drops without cracking the screen, and the long battery life is a plus to say the least. Its well worth what I paid for the phone, I would absolutely recommend this phone!

Everything on this phone rocks. Battery last all day. Great resolution on screen, and best part is that it's not slow at all. Runs really smooth.

My former smart phone was an LG employing the 4.4.2 Android operating system and a 1.2 GHz processor. The difference in performance between that phone and the S8 is phenomenal and quite satisfying. I am totally spoiled already. However, speed is not everything. For instance, there is no option to enter a postal address in Contacts as there was in the LG, the over-white background (even when the blue effect is decreased) is tiring to the eyes and appears washed out, the alarm cannot be turned off without booting the phone, and so on. The old LG has dome strong positives. Still, I suspect with further acquaintance I will become even happier with this phone and give it a five rating. It comes very close in competence to my desktop PC. I would definitely recommend this phone.

I have owned both iphone and Samsung Galaxy phones before. I don't have anything against iphones and in fact, I recommend them to folks who are not tech savvy and like simple functionality and consistent looks. Also, even after getting this new S8 phone, I still am biased towards the picture quality of iphone's camera compare to Samsung's; iphone's camera (I am talking about iphone 7) captures pictures at night that are still of better quality than Samsung S8. However, I am still satisfied with S8's pictures and have no complaints. I do find the screen quality of S8 to be the best feature of all; It has a high contrast and a decent size and looks amazing as they have advertised. I think I agree with almost all of the other features and pros mentioned in different sites. I don't use the finger sensor nor the Bixby functionalities that everyone keeps complaining about. Frankly, I don't understand why I would need anything more than the Google assistant! Since I am talking about the unlocked version compare to other versions that are provided by carriers, buying this phone was a big concern for me in the sense that I wasn't sure that by using this phone, not having the extra software added by the carrier to the phone, I will have some issues regarding the functionality of the phone, e.g., texting, etc. However, so far, I have not seen any issues at all and everything is working great. What made me very happy was that upon setting up my phone for the first time, I did not have a single At&t app installed on my phone. As you might know, carrier phones contain a lot of extra apps provided by the carrier and there is no way to remove them. So, they are taking space on your phone and you can't do anything about them. This is also true for some Samsung and Google apps. But I noticed that even the number of such apps on this phone is limited and not like before. Before buying this phone, on the Best Buy's reviews page, I noticed a few 1/5 comments regarding this phone. Apparently, these folks were completely mad at Samsung because Samsung would provide updates every 3 months instead of every month for its unlocked phones. Personally, I'd rather receive updates later than other places so that in case there are any bugs in these updates, they would be detected and resolved. Also, the more updates you get, the slower your phone gets in general and that is a policy that all companies pursuit. So, even if Samsung is still going to continue to deliver updates quarterly (I read in a few places that they are planning to deliver them monthly now), I really don't mind it and I definitely won't give a bad review to this phone just because of that! I think these folks should have been more fair towards these phones.

I would definitely buy this phone again, all aspects of the S8 work great. Great display and fantastic camera. Equally fast operating system with great storage. Battery lasts longer than I expected. Reviews stated that one had to recharge every day, but I have gone well into the second day. Again, great phone and it draws everyone's attention when they see it.

I got mine for 525.00. I don't use the special features face recognition, finger print or others. surfs web fast and the camera is great. wish the speaker was better. and i would rather have the home button than the longer thinner screen ratio. I think the S6 was great for my needs but this is a great overall phone. i would recommend this phone if you are a die hard tech person that wants the newest stuff (if you can get it for around 550.00) otherwise the S7 is just as good for everyday use and games as of to date 12/8/17. And the S6 is just fine for the simple user that doesn't play fast complex games.

Upgrade from Galaxy S5 do too many improvements to list here but, battery, screen, and speed are very much improved as you would expect.

I recently bought this new Samsung galaxy s8 because my old galaxy s7 got water damage. It is fast and not complicated. I had to adjust how I used my phone simply because it has a bigger screen and the set up is way different than the s7. Samsung really upped their game when they made this phone and reevaluated already everything. Better camera, no physical home button at all, Bixby, fingerprint sensor location, etc. Some don't like and others don't mind them. It's really up to you. The s8 is basically an old phone now since Samsung is already leaking info about their new s10/sX! I'm not one to go spend a grand on a new phone especially when I break them fairly easily! That's why I would recommend this phone to those who don't need the newest models but still would like a new and nice phone. The features are good and you can adjust almost anything to how you would want them. Features you don't like, just don't use. Features this phone doesn't have isn't something to worry about because this is an earthly possession and won't mean anything in eternity, which is what really matters. Love this Samsung S8 phone. Features are great and it's SUPER fast compared to the older models. It's fun playing with the snapchat filters that come standard in the built-in camera app. My niece and nephew have fun viewing their selfies with the filter. Strongly recommend the wireless charger. It helps me keep my phone fully charged while it's just sitting on my nightstand. Plus, I can quickly check email or messages and put it back on the charger. No need for plugging and unplugging a charging cable like I used to do.

Had this phone for a couple years now and will not change unless it breaks. Very fast and better than my apple iphone that I had before. Excellent storage capacity and I added another 64 gig memory card. I love that it is unlocked because I can travel to my country remove sim add a digicel sim and it works.

The best-looking phone with great performance/memory and battery life. An external storage slot lets you keep more photos, videos and music. The Samsung Galaxy S8's fast speed makes it a great phone but fingerprint reader can be annoying. My teenage daughter loves this phone.

The camera is excellent quality and can take very detailed photos, good in poor lighting as well. Minimal bloatware. Good speakers. The infinity display is, in my opinion, not necessary and adds an extra element of risk when dropping the phone, as very few cases made for the phone have edges that are deeper than the phone surface since they don't want to cover the infinity display. The Bixby button is annoying and too close to the volume buttons. But overall, the good features outweigh the bad. I would recommend this phone to anyone who wants a higher quality camera but wants to avoid buying from Apple.

I have had the phone for a couple weeks now. I have no complaints. I love the full screen viewing when watching movies and shows. The battery life is great. I like the fact it puts apps to sleep that aren't being used and saves the battery life. The camera takes great photos and video. It is very fast when opening apps and internet pages.

SAme excellent samsung phone. The battery is amazing, you can basically charge it once and it will last the whole day! I charge it at work and then i take it home with me and i dont charge it until the next day at work and i use my phone a lot, i use fb messenger, google docs, and i switch back and forth constantly since i am a Secretary I use it to text a lot write messages and foward messages. It is a great phone. I recommend! I put a nice case on it and a glass protecting shield on it too.

This is one of the great Samsung's smartphone I've ever owned. The best part of this unit is its security function, facial recognition and a fingerprint sensor. The elegance and durability, edge-to-edge with a Super AMOLED screen, corning Gorilla Glass 5. Just feel like I've made a good choice with this model. Would recommended if anyone is looking for an Un-Locked great phone.
