Sales guy told me my original GearVR would work with my new Note8 which is NOT TRUE. So I purchased the new GearVR. It's functionally no different than the original but it does come with a controller which is a nice addition. Great product. I just wish I didn't have to replace my old one.

This VR is awesome. The quality is great. I don't have any complaints.

Like the remote very handy. Come with some accessories for other models and that give the edge. You can see that is a second generation the software update is good and help to get more immerse on the experience. Only downside is the headbands are a little loose for my taste.

technically its the best VR gear you can use with Samsung S8, but I've seen less resolution than what I expected, also not a lot of free stuff

This is a worthwhile purchase for all those looking for an entry level opportunity to own VR equipment. The price-point is much lower than many of the computer based products currently on the market! If you have one of the newer Samsung Galaxy phones you should purchase it! You will be glad you did!

Picked up one of these as an Opened Box while I was waiting for my S9 preorder to come. I had heard a lot of good things about it, but I really didn't think a relatively inexpensive, mobile VR experience could be impressive. I was wrong. The picture quality is actually pretty good, and the immersion is definitely there. I let my teenage daughter try out the free "Stranger Things: Face Your Fears" experience and I don't know who had more fun - her or me. She asked if she could hold my hand as she cringed seeing the 'upside down' close in around her! If you have a recent Samsung phone and haven't tried VR yet, this is definitely worth checking out!

Great for playing games, watching videos, looking at pictures, riding rollercoasters ect. It's nice that I can still wear my glasses when using it. It's also really fun to play each other when you know someone else that has one. Just needs a few more multiplayer games. We have 2 in our house!

We are very new to VR as we haven't had any devices with the capability of VR. We just got brand new Samsung S6 s and decided that getting the gear VR would be a great bonus buy. So far it's proven to be a lot of fun and you really do feel immersed in the games and the environment. A couple of cons are that there's not a ton of options for free games that are worth anyone's time and even some of the games that you have to purchase are not that great either. One thing I would also like to change is the fact that it heats up pretty quickly, and once it's too hot I have to keep it disconnected for a good 20 minutes for a full cool down, but depending on the game you can get as little as 20 minutes of gameplay and up to an hour from what we've experienced so far. It's also a battery drainer. I definitely advise keeping the protective cover on when it's not in use as sometimes little hairs and fibers and dust collect in it and if you don't have a lens cloth getting it off can be quite difficult as you really don't want to scratch or smudge the lens. I hope for many new developments in the game play soon it definitely was worth the money though, it's great for beginners to VR as we are and one of the better lower-cost options. I'm thinking I might have to go buy a second one! Can't wait to make grandma give it a whirl!

My grandsons laugh at the fact that grandma has a VR headset. I have only tried the few things that came programmed on it. Waiting for the stormy weather and my grandsons to download some games so I can sit back and PLAY!

I really Love the new 4K view. I purchased the previous version of this product and this one is quite better all around, except for how it fits on my nose (every time I wear it the bridge of my nose hurts) and this one also hurts my eyes if I watch it for longer than 20 or 30 minutes. I didn't experience those things to this degree with the previous version. Overall this is very entertaining and my whole family enjoys using it especially with the new coop games, which more games need to be created for people in the same room. But again these few complaints are why it's 4 Stars and not 5 Stars.

They fabric that presses on your face isn't really comfortable and it seems to close of my nose so it is hard to breathe but overall the view is really good. The controller is what really makes it great.

the one and only samsung vr gets better and better, this time i thing due to the size of the galaxy 8, 8+ and note 8.. its seems more open, the focus adjust more fine and the overall fit better. still is the best way to experience vr on the cheap.

This is a must have when you get yourself a Gear 360 camera. A lot of content is coming slowly for VR. Purchased this particular VR as i got the new Samsung Note 8 from Best Buy.

Purchased for a dedicated gamer, this headset was a big hit. Though there were others at higher price points, the Samsung paired perfectly with the phone and has been a great addition to the gaming tools used in our home.

Love the GearVR. A huge selection of apps and games to play and no issue. I use mine with a Note 8 and it works flawlessly. Tons of fun and would recommend as a gift for those that have galaxy devices.

I bought this because it was cool - I really wanted to lay on my back and watch tv on the ceiling (lol). It works, but it is hard to get it to work, on hulu, Netflix. The buttons are temperamental. It will work then switches back then works. once it is going it works great. It does not work for the games/other things as far as I can tell - you cannot be super lazy, have to sit up to do them. Bummer, hoping for total laziness. Also, I bought it at best buy then found it at target for 50$ less - that was super annoying!! but not going to return it.

Depending on the resolution of your cell phone... this new model offers incredible VR. The landscapes and colors are vibrant especially on the Note 8 larger screen. Of course there's always warnings for those who are faint of heart because of the reality factor. The touch controls on the VR side and hand controls are easy to use and responsive. Great job Samsung - a great update for connecting your USB C phone, comes with micro usb as well. Samsung keep an open mind for expanding sales of and offer a Lighting adapter for apple fans.

Upgraded from S7 Edge, which showed some games with difficulties (slowed responses). My Note 8 flies thru games with no difficulties thanks to 6gb RAM. My VR experience has been enhanced.
