Samsung - Gear VR Virtual Reality Headset - Orchid Gray

My Samsung Gear Virtual it is one of the best gadget I bought lately, I love the wide vision in 360 degree immersion, giving me the realistic interaction.

We are very new to VR as we haven't had any devices with the capability of VR. We just got brand new Samsung S6 s and decided that getting the gear VR would be a great bonus buy. So far it's proven to be a lot of fun and you really do feel immersed in the games and the environment. A couple of cons are that there's not a ton of options for free games that are worth anyone's time and even some of the games that you have to purchase are not that great either. One thing I would also like to change is the fact that it heats up pretty quickly, and once it's too hot I have to keep it disconnected for a good 20 minutes for a full cool down, but depending on the game you can get as little as 20 minutes of gameplay and up to an hour from what we've experienced so far. It's also a battery drainer. I definitely advise keeping the protective cover on when it's not in use as sometimes little hairs and fibers and dust collect in it and if you don't have a lens cloth getting it off can be quite difficult as you really don't want to scratch or smudge the lens. I hope for many new developments in the game play soon it definitely was worth the money though, it's great for beginners to VR as we are and one of the better lower-cost options. I'm thinking I might have to go buy a second one! Can't wait to make grandma give it a whirl!

I found the unit to be sound and once paired to the phone to be a fun time. In its first use I spent three hours and it was entertaining. Watching a movie on YouTube meant sitting in an upright position instead of laying down on my back. Not bad but the screen was bordered with distracting visuals of a living room. I would prefer nothing visual but the video full screen. Overall, a good product which will only get better. The controller loses its screen placement and needs to be adjusted way too often.

Figured I would grab one of these with the new phone upgrades...seems to work as scripted but have 2 small complaints: 1. The controller seems to "glitch" fairly often - the beam ends up disappearing so... 2. Why don't they make the space large enough to accommodate a phone case? I use this WAY less than I would simply because I hate pulling off the Otter Box! lol

After some adjustments, it felt pretty good... here's some points if your interested... 1-i noticed the field of view changed (less) than first generation. Not a deal breaker, but noticeably different. 2- a lot of content, but not enough. Would love to watch vudu. But you can watch Netflix and Hulu. 3 - after owning PSVR I can safely say this is better for video and internet viewing. They both have screen door effect but this is more clear. 4 - the headset itself is comfortable. Less cumbersome than the psvr. I liked psvr but like this much more. Lastly, everyone has their own preference, so I would recommend trying it yourself. I think it's great...but not perfect.

So after using the device for a couple of days, I can say with 100% truth that this is exactly what I as a gamer am looking for in terms of a unique and fun gaming experience. Every game that you play on the VR feels unique, especially with the integration of the gear VR controller. But, even with a note8, the screen door effect is too much to not notice. Playing games is acceptable because of the unique experience, but trying to use this device for entertainment such as watching movies or viewing 360 photos, it can't be overlooked.

I really Love the new 4K view. I purchased the previous version of this product and this one is quite better all around, except for how it fits on my nose (every time I wear it the bridge of my nose hurts) and this one also hurts my eyes if I watch it for longer than 20 or 30 minutes. I didn't experience those things to this degree with the previous version. Overall this is very entertaining and my whole family enjoys using it especially with the new coop games, which more games need to be created for people in the same room. But again these few complaints are why it's 4 Stars and not 5 Stars.

The gear VR works great, way better than it did on the Note 5. My only complaint is the resolution. Its not horrible or unbearable by any means its just not as clear as I wish it could be.
