Q: will it fit without removing your cellphone case/cover?
A: Nope. The usb-c receiver is shaped for the phone on my version. Even the super thin cases will get in the way. Besides, the phone will generate a lot of heat, having any case on it doesn't seem a good idea to me. I certainly wouldn't do it.
A: I was able to get the white Gear VR to work with a Note 4, but the black Gear VR only works with Galaxy s6/Note 5 and above.

A: It dose not plug in at all, it has no cord's. Your phone attaches to the front of it, If you want to charge you phone while your using it, then it has a little charging port on the bottom of it that is the same as your phone. She obviously has the cord to charge her phone, but it's not needed. Just put the phone in and she will be good, hope this helps.
