My Samsung Gear Virtual it is one of the best gadget I bought lately, I love the wide vision in 360 degree immersion, giving me the realistic interaction.

    Pretty Good VR

The lenses still fog a lot. Have to pull away from my face and shake a bit to get it to go way. VERY ANNOYING. It's also not very comfortable to wear for more than 20 minutes or so. The remote is awesome and makes a lot of sense. Works like a laser pointer. The resolution depends on the phone you use but the screen door effect is definitely still there, though not so noticeable. High quality videos on my Note 8 look really good but lower than 2k looks pretty bad, worse than standard def. Quite blurry. Umm.. that's all I got. Give me my 25 points now.

Much better then the 10 to 30 VRs that Wal-Mart sells. Better graphics and play than the others. If you have a samsung phone this is for you, don't spend thousands on VR only devices. Bring the fun with you anywhere you go.

Easy to set up and use. The experience is very realistic and fun. Watching Netflix on the device is also really great, it's like having a movie theater in your house or where ever you want.

    A fun toy

This is a fun toy. It's like most other phone vr units but with a great controller. I wear glasses and these fit easily over them. My phone has not overheated. I love the use of my camera as a "portal through" and not having to remove headset to function quickly. I did notice a lot of pressure on my face when wearing this. Also the velco can easily get stuck in your hair. It is a pain that you can't take phone calls or respond to notifications while the phone is inserted. Apps are through Occulus Store which causes some problems. Most of my movies are on vudu and not accessible (that I've found) through Occulus.

Not as good as the last model

The VR works awesome but my issue with this Note 8 edition is the width. Because its wider to fit the note 8, the light guards that go around your eyes are wider then mine and my friends heads which leaves alot of light leaking in unless you use it in the dark or wrap a towel or something around it. Unfortunately I have the Note 8 so Im forced to have this one. Also its not designed to be used with a phone with a screen protector so if you have one it will wrinkle it up at the bottom. The VR experience is worth the hassel but I wish I still had my s7 edge model. However I love my note 8.

The idea around this VR is good, it is still fun. But what would make it excellent is if the resolution was much better. The view is as if I'm looking at standard definition rather than high definition. When the quality gets to 4k we will be virtually trapped in a virtual world.

I found the unit to be sound and once paired to the phone to be a fun time. In its first use I spent three hours and it was entertaining. Watching a movie on YouTube meant sitting in an upright position instead of laying down on my back. Not bad but the screen was bordered with distracting visuals of a living room. I would prefer nothing visual but the video full screen. Overall, a good product which will only get better. The controller loses its screen placement and needs to be adjusted way too often.

My first VR device; very impressive. Really helpful to have hand held remote device to operate the VR; easier than using the controls on the headset itself.

I have been waiting a long time to get one and this was worth the wait. Samsung and Oculus are delivering a great experience. there are enough apps to keep most folks entertained and its' easy to use. The remote is great and it works well without the remote too!! Plus you can charge while you use and do headphones to keep your partner happy.

I enjoy the abililty to access the VR technology utilizing my phone but I feel the goggles and controller are a bit overpriced for what they are. Wish there were more apps as well. Had to buy a separate game controller in order to access games like Minecraft VR. I like it for viewing my Gear 360 videos and pics. Overall it functions nice for an introductory VR experience.

I got this for my daughter the saturday after black friday and got it with a bundle deal with the 360 camera. Needless to say i set it up for play tuesday so it would be ready when given to her on christmas day. I was blown away and wanted it for myself instantly. I went back to best buy to buy another bundle for myself and was told that was a black friday bundle and that special has now passed. I wished i wouldve set it up the day i bought it because i wouldve bought 2.

The Gear VR is better than I thought it was going to be. The headset is actually closer to the Vive or Oculus than I expected. There is no head tracking, but for the price it can't be beat. The controller is really cool too. It's worked pretty seamlessly so far and is just plain fun!

Figured I would grab one of these with the new phone upgrades...seems to work as scripted but have 2 small complaints: 1. The controller seems to "glitch" fairly often - the beam ends up disappearing so... 2. Why don't they make the space large enough to accommodate a phone case? I use this WAY less than I would simply because I hate pulling off the Otter Box! lol

Works like you would expect... ...actually better. I'm not sure there's enough to do with these things right now, but I'm constantly reminding myself this is a CELL PHONE! The experience is really good. I own a Windows Mixed Reality headset as well, and it's not really that different from that and it costs 5 times as much!

Great product. Enjoyed it quite a bit but with children and work they tended to collect dust in a drawer. Had them for about 1 month. First few days used them for about 2 hours per day and then it was once on the weekend and then not at all. The remote was very useful with most applications and games.

Good entry level VR, but content is weak

The VR works nicely, but under heavy use, after about 20 minutes the S7 gets so hot that a warning message pops up telling you to disengage from the VR unit so it can cool down! Even though it drains the S7 battery relatively quickly, power won’t be a problem because the temperature limit will stop you well before then. The handheld controller is quite responsive and I rarely use the VR’s built in touch pad or buttons. Some apps seem to have significant gyro lag in either the VR itself or in the controller, or both. That is, it loses track of which was is up or north or whatever, and you wind up pointing up and to the left to click on something straight ahead. The Recenter button doesn’t do much good. Despite these shortcomings, I do like the VR unit. The content is a weak spot though. It is apparently limited to apps on the Oculus store, but the VR doesn’t share apps with the Rift. There isn’t yet a killer app on the VR.
