    Repair

This computer was a year and a half old when it tore up. The cursor would move all the time and change screens. The repair would have been over $900 even with the Geek Squad Protection Plan. It is absurd for a computer this young to need this type of repair. I won't pay for a repair of this magnitude on a computer this age - no telling what else may tear up. Therefore I cannot use the touch screen at all. It had to be disabled for the computer to work. The only reason I gave it 2 stars was because I got a good years worth out of it.

I bought this computer for college and currently haven't used it much, but so far it seems to work fine for what I need it to.

Great computer, however I did not know that it was not going to have the samsung stylus that is supposed to come standard with the computer. They need to make it much more clear & in your face "what's NOT included" when buying open box items.

    McAfee Uninstall Fails

It comes with lots of malware pre-installed, like McAfee stuff. When I tried uninstalling the McAffee malware, Windows gave me an error message. Figure on spending some hours trying to turn this into a regular Windows 10 machine. Fewer hours for you to spend time with you family.

I've had a lot of software and hardware problems with this computer. After more than 6 months of updates, driver reinstalls, and other work, it finally seems to be doing it's job. Regardless, I don't recommend.

    Everything I Expected

First, my computer arrived with lightening speed! Upon opening the box, everything was straight forward and easy to understand. Set up was quick. Updates were quick. I LOVE the touch feature and stylus! For those who cannot afford a drawing tablet, the Windows Ink feature is great! The pen pressure sensitivity and basic brushes are easy to use, and look very natural, like the real thing. Pencil does look like pencil etc. I'm very glad I went with the 16 gig RAM instead of 8g. This is where it really matters not to skimp out by getting a laptop with less RAM. I do a lot of multi-media and multitasking. And although I'm not a gamer, I need the functionality of a gaming computer to keep a quick pace for all the graphic arts programs I use. I am self employed and run 4 online retail stores. I have to have something that keeps up with the demands of all the tasks I have in a day. So far so good! I have already loaded several apps and two large multi gig programs on the SSD and have experienced no symptoms of bloat unless the app itself is glitchy. (some have been). The only thing that is strange, is the font keeps reverting back to a super tiny size (default) despite changing it in the computer settings and in my Chrome settings too. Hmm. Other than that, I at first had to put little railings underneath on the sides of the computer because even though it sits on a flat desk, and the computer has plenty of vents, it felt really, really hot. So I figured I'd give it more space underneath to prevent overheating. After doing that, and setting my screen brightness to about 65%, it doesn't get hot like it did when I first used it. So that could have been a fluke and caused by something I fixed. Some have mentioned the built in apps bloat the system but a lot of those can just be uninstalled. And live thumbnails deactivated. You can also change your start up settings and turn off a lot of what runs in the background if you notice lag. I really like the feel of the keyboard and it was easy to get used to compared my old one that had keys farther apart. I can actually type faster on this one which is nice. The backlit keyboard is an extra bonus that helps at night. And I didn't expect the little feature where you can set the lighting to nighttime settings which has a soft golden rosy hue instead of LED blue, so that helps eye strain. I would definitely recommend this for anyone that needs a multi-media, lightweight, portable laptop/tablet. And you don't have to worry about losing the stylus either. There's a little compartment built right in that it slides into, and extra nubs for future use.

As soon as I start using the laptop, I had scrolling issues. My mouse pad stopped working. I had to use the side scroll bar on the sites I was viewing. It was slow. I did not like the keys, they were very small and I kept mistyping words.

I didn't like the laptop so I returned it the very next day. I needed more memory for gaming and it only had 2 working USB ports. Then the salesman didn't give me a receipt for the return because he said the orginal was emailed to me. I still haven't been refunded!

This was not a perfect laptop, but its blend of price, performance, and portability cannot be beat. The 1080p screen can get extremely bright and in store looked better then many of the 4k screens. For how light and thin the graphical performance is way above the 940m. For example I can play Forza 7 at a 30-35FPS at low where the 940m would be 15-20FPS at very low. It is no gaming laptop, but for under 4lbs it cannot be beat. It was not perfect because when I first got it the Radeon card would jump from 100% usage to 0% with nothing running. A force shutdown reinstalling the card fixed it but the problem perused. Only wiping the system fixed it and I have had it for about 2 months now and it hasn't happened again. Also from time to time the audio will get fuzzy but a restart fixes it. Hopefully Samsung keeps the updates rolling but overall loving it.
