Worth every penny! I picked this up while it was on sale. This Samsung 4K player functions nicely with my 65” Samsung 4K TV. 4K movies are brilliant! I highly recommend this product. The only down side to this player is that it requires a hard wired Ethernet connection for updates. I wish it had the WiFi option built in, however, the next model up was not worth the cost for me.

This is a fine player. No foibles I can discover. I will note that if one does not go to the settings menu and then go into the audio (sound) part of that menu the player will not output Atmos or DTS: audio. The factory default is PCM and that will not do the trick. The best way to have the player deal with this issue is to select "Auto" from the list of options. That way, the disc will pass through the best audio to any AV receiver that can deal with it and the receiver will select the best playback option for the best sound. The video on the player is all I could ask for. With one disc, one time, however, here was a bright line along the bottom edge of the 4K frame at the bottom of the screen, but that went away a bit into the movie. (A review I read of the more expensive M9500 model mentioned a similar artifact, so it may be a characteristic of all of the 7500-9500 Samsung players.) I have watched several discs since and there were no issues. The remote takes some getting used to, but one you achieve that perficiency it works just fine. Unlike the 9500 and 8500 models this one does not have wi-fi, so you have to connect it to the internet (router) via an ethernet cable. Hooking it to the internet allows for performance upgrades to be received. It's a good player. The attached photo shows it sitting on top of my equipment cabinet.

I purchased this player, because I purchased a new Samsung 4k smart tv. The price was good, only because i purchased on Black Friday for both items. Find it to be a bit large wish it was smaller in size. Like the ability to use 4k blue ray DVD and blue ray and DVD. Very easy set up. Remote a little different very slim and small wish the player was as well. Does say that if you are not hooking it up to a Samsung tv you need to do a few extra steps on set up. Make sure you pick up a 4k HDMI cable. Not included. So far having it for a week it seems good.

    Delivering True 4K / UHD

Great player when purchased when it is on sale / promotion! It enables to view 4K / UHD content in an uncompressed format, not streamed and compressed online. Content such as Blue Planet II, which is the reason I got the player, look amazing! Nature, landscape, and scenic items are best served in UHD / 4K, while darker location filmed footage / movies can be left to streaming services. Looking forward to purchasing Planet Earth 2 in 4K / UHD. Note: This player is not WiFi but features an Ethernet port. For me, it is not an issue as my Smart TV and Chromecast take care of my Smart feature needs. However, if you need WiFi then other models - which are more expensive - would be an option to consider. There is a firmware upgrade right out of the box, so you may want to connect it online anyway when doing the setup then move / disconnect the unit. The remote is not back-lite but this is one of the first entry models in Smasung's line of 4K/UHD Players, which is probably why there is no WiFi either. Only in the initial stages, the loading of the disk is loud but the noise goes away when the movie starts and is never an issue thought-out the movie. Overall, it is a great player when I must watch 4K / UHD disks.

Love Samsung products. This blueray player is great quality and easy to use. The movies are like real life, picture is like looking out the window and watching the action outside. It also upscales my DVDs and regular blueray picture to a higher quality.

Highly Recommend upgrading from traditional Blu Ray to 4K Ultra. Takes a little while to get used to the remote but easy to switch programming from Hulu to You Tube to Netfix. You can stop right where you are mid-program & switch.

Love the picture and how fast, quiet and cool it opperates. Upscaling normal Blue ray is great too. It turns on my TV every time i just wanna pop the DVD out after everything is off, a bit of annoying. Wish WiFi model price isn't that much more expensive.

So far I haven't used the online capabilities because I don't need to. I purchased a Samsung 4K 6 series tv and sound bar last year and have been waiting to get the Blu Ray player ever since. I wish I would have purchased it with the TV. If you have a 4K tv and don't currently have a 4K Blu Ray player, your not truely using your tv to its full potential. If you don't have all the smart apps or a different brand tv and might use some of the apps, get the wireless 8500. In my case the 7500 is all I need and I have been very pleased with my Samsung 4K player, sound bar, and 6300 tv. Highly recommend.

Very inexpensive, plenty of features. Has all the same features as my Samsung TV, which is a bit redundant if you have a smart tv, but if not, then it would be great for you. Fast player, video looks great, just make sure you have an open ethernet port available since there's no wifi

Nice blue ray player, easy to hookup, great price. Only reason it had 4 stars instead of five is because we did not have a 4k blueray movie to watch to get the full effect!

Sleek in design and super quiet. Plays CD, DVD, blu ray, 4k discs. The upscaling looks sharp on my 4k display. Only complaint is the remote, while nicely shaped, the buttons don't seem to be placed well. They're also practically flush, making it difficult to tell if or what you're pushing in the dark. I've only had it a month though. I'll eventually get the lay out down.

I bought a 4k tv Samsung a few months ago. I love it used my blue ray DVD player great picture and sound but I knew it could be better i bought another brand and had problems so I returned it read the reviews and bought a streaming 4k hdr DVD player and love it. When you insert a DVD the player changes the tv input setting and turns on the tv

Purchased this to go with my brand new 4K TV and it does not disappoint. Picture and audio are crystal clear. Even standard Blu-Ray disks look better than before. Haven’t noticed any noises or errors so far, although it does cause a slight vibration when running so if you have it sitting on a stand with glass or decorative items it could get annoying. I’ve got a smart tv and an Apple TV so I have no use for the smart features but the interface seems easy to use. And it’s one of the cheaper standalone 4K players out there which is always nice. Keep in mind this model is not wireless so if you do need to use any smart features you’ll need to be wired into your router to do so. Overall a great purchase!

    Fantastic Machine!

Bought this around Black Friday to replace an older LG Bluray machine (which still works!) and combo it with a new Samsung 4K TV. This Samsung machine is quite nifty and easy to navigate; gives you a calm feeling when you're booting up the menu and it loads the apps pretty quickly. The remote is ergonomic and has a nice perforated feel for each button and direction. The only downside to this machine is that there is no Wifi capability to load up your apps or go online, which will require you to use an ethernet cable for any online capability. As long as you a long enough ethernet cable, all of your apps should be golden. They include Vudu, Youtube, Prime, Netflix, etc. by default. Overall pretty satisfied with the machine and plays 4K Blurays wonderfully.

I bought and returned this twice.I did so because I saw the Xbox One X has a 4k player. Well this player is better than the one in the One X, but this player was not quite what I wanted. The picture quality is good in 4k and standard Blu-ray was good, DVD good. All performed as expected. I have the Samsung mu7000 49" and a Yamaha sound bar with DTS. One drawback is the lack of progressive scan. If I stopped watching a movie mid way, the player would not remember where I left off. It got annoying after a while because this player has a auto shut off when placed on pause. Some players I have had just go into screen saver mode, this one just shuts right down. It seemed to do it after about 10 minutes. So without a progressive scan its not something I would want to have for the next 3 years or so. Another thing I realized is this player is not very complete when it comes to the audio compatibility. My sound bar is for DTS surround. This player does not support it the way I would like. The only thing I liked about this player was it is not Smart because my TV is and it is much easier using apps with my TV. Plus I like to limit devices on my wi-fi when I can. So in short if your looking for a cheap player just to show off your new 4k TV, go for it. But this player is not future proof. My advice would be to check the specs on your TV and Audio and get the one that will work best for you. I ultimately went the ubd-k8500 (price was good). It still has an auto shut off, but it does have better progressive scan and works better with my soundbar. If I ever upgrade to Dolby Atmos sound, I will be upgrading from the k8500 (no support). For now with what I have its fine for me.
