Works flawlessly! Fingerprint security ready properly 100% of the time, the negative reviews are the fault of Samsung and not the reviewers due to thefact the link to follow within the software to download the app is from another model without the touch feature and will not recognize the unit, make sure you download the correct app from the playstore (the one specifically for the T-7 touch with the picture of the fingerprint in the icon) and it all works on the phone and the computer with no error message! Lost one star on "ease of use" section for this, other than that its simple!

Saved my life when MacBook Pro died suddenly and catastrophically. Small, powerful, secure. Works. Time will tell about durability but ssd should hold up.

I shoot real estate pictures and am on the go all the time and now, after purchasing this SSD, I get my work done before I get home. Super fast and works great with my 16" MacBookPro!

This external SDD is so slim. I love it. It easily fits in my laptop bag. It's great that the device came with USB-C and USB-A in the box for those of us who haven't made the commitment to USB-C. It is also super fast, I transferred 2 TB worth of Time Machine back ups on to the device and it took less than hour. The figure print reader seems secure but the second time I plugged it and and forgot to touch my figure to it, I freaked out because my Mac then didn't recognized the drive. I like the feature and the reader is fast. I could do without the blue light, it is very bright and when time machine is syncing overnight I can see the blue glow from the device. It times out after a while but I wish there was a way to control this light through the app they make you download to program your fingerprint.

Nice looking but writing speed is too slow. Max speed I got is only about 6 MBPS.

This is a compact, aesthetically pleasing, well-made drive that is capacious and fast. All that has been said in other reviews. Now that prices have come down some, it is also a very good value and cost effective at $360. (The 1TB T5 was recently about $180. The T7 is the same cost per TB and adds the fingerprint reader) Re speed, I know I am not getting the most of its potential because my devices are all 2+ years old. However, I find the T7 about twice as fast as the T5 transferring files from the device's internal storage to the SSD. (The T5 is about twice as fast as moving from internal storage to an SD card.) I am very pleased with this product and Best Buy's order fulfilment.

This 2TB external SDD is so small and slim. It came with both USB-C and USB-A cables in the box. Super fast. Fingerprint security works great.

Fast, small, lite and works great for the PS5. Don't really need the encryption though.

Absolutely fantastic SSD, fast, secure, the fingerprint reader works great for me and it allows for iPad to use this with security on since there is no iOS software to use it with just the password . .

Works great eben when I switched to a M1 macbook. The doftware doent work on my macbook unless you fo all these strps butvthe fingerpribt itself will still unlock it

Coming from an HDD this thing is like a dream. Very fast and the fact it has its own encryption software means I don’t have to worry about reformatting to use between my MacBook and windows laptop. It is pretty expensive and hurt my wallet but I guess that’s the price for SSDs in this point of time. This SSD taught me to always find a way to use encryption software within the drive itself if you want to use it with different devices.

The Samsung T7 (2TB) External USB 3.2 SSD Drive is amazingly fast for backing up files, The security options available on this drive make it a good choice for travel situations. Small (credit card size and about a quarter inch thick) and consequently is very portable...

I do Photography and Videography for small events and this SSD allows me to offload my content faster than ever before, and with the secure authentication of the fingerprint reader I am confident my clients data is always secure.

Samsung makes excellent SSD's. This external SSD is no exception. I have owned some of their T5 external drives over the years with no problems. They are all built like tanks. After purchasing a new HP Spectre X360 laptop with an even faster internal SSD than my previous laptop, I bought the T7. I can definitely see that the T7 transfers files faster than the T5. Was it worth the extra money? Probably not for my needs, but when the T7 went on sale for a little more than a T5,,I could not resist. The fingerprint reader is a nice feature. Highly recommended. I just wish they made the T7 in the same red color as the T5. It is stunning, but at least I can easily differentiate my black T7 Touch from my red T5.

BASED ON MY CASUAL TIMING OBSERVATIONS OF DIFFERENT EXTERNAL SSD DRIVES, SAMSUNG HAS THE FASTEST EXTERNAL SSD DRIVES. THIS ONE WORKS BEAUTIFULLY. AESTHETICALLY, THE SQUARE BLUE OPERATING LIGHT IS ATTRACTIVE.

This product is quite slim and futuristic. Cant believe they put 2 TB in that small thing. Setting up was easy and data transfer rate was good though that depends on the cable and the port used.

I got this super small portable hard drive to download files and because it was convenient to carry with me. super nice, very small convenient size to carry with you. Seems easy I watched a video prior to purchasing. I’m trying to get all pictures files etc off My tablet iPhone etc and start fresh. Can’t wait to start using it. I believe it is capable of downloading pictures, videos, files, pdf, word, excel, calendar, basically all files on your devices either as backups or as a copy.

While I like the security features of the storage unit, it lacks instructions. I lost data during the download due to not knowing if it actually downloaded.
