Customers admire the UE590 Series 28" LED 4K UHD Monitor's picture quality, 4K resolution, and vibrant colors. Many also praise its affordability and ease of setup, along with its fast response time, making it ideal for various uses. However, some find the stand somewhat lacking in sturdiness and adjustability. The absence of built-in speakers and less-than-ideal viewing angles are also frequently cited as drawbacks.

Resolutions is fantastic, really enjoy the amount of desktop space. Note that this is a TN panel, and not as bright as an IPS (colors shift by viewing angle as well, but you have to consider the price. Using 2 computers one on DisplayPort and the other on HDMI. The HDMI computer is on Windows 7 so I'm running a 2550x1440 resolution and it's still great. Only thing I dislike is that unlike my previous Samsung monitor, this one requires using the joystick and multiple clicks to switch input, which is not as convenient. I would have preferred a dedicated input button. Monitor stays cool and only has a 32w max. power draw. I believe it's a great monitor for everyday use, not sure how a professional graphics designer or photographer would fare.

I picked up this monitor for use at work- I have always used dual monitors in the past but decided to try out a 4K unit. The picture quality is excellent, however it's not an IPS panel so viewing angles are not a good as I'd hoped. Refresh rates are great, and like my summary says, it's very good for gaming and video.
It appears there are no speakers in the unit, even though there's a software volume control. I was able to get audio from the HDMI and DisplayPort connections by plugging external speakers into the 3.5mm output jack on the back.
For work purposes, I'm likely to replace it with a curved LG ultrawide. The static clarity of the IPS panel is much better for long periods of viewing.

Pros:
- Most stuff looks great in 4K, especially if there's a lot of motion and bright colors to help you avoid noticing the relatively weak performance with dark colors (especially solid black).
- Decently affordable option for a 4K monitor at this point in the 4K craze.
- 2 HDMI ports and a DisplayPort.
Cons:
- The base isn't the most solid thing in the world, so I often notice the monitor wobbling if I'm typing too hard or if I'm touching the desk even a tiny bit. Also be aware that it doesn't swivel at all, and only tilts up and down a little.
- The power button is on the back right corner, and is also used for swapping between inputs and various other controls. Unusual design choice, but you'll get used to it pretty fast.
- I had to return the original one I got because of a patch of dead pixels right out of the box, and now about a month after getting the replacement, there's a dead pixel on this one too in an even more annoying location. I could forgive the first one as a shipping problem or just a random defect, but now that I've had two in a row, I've got to mention it. On the plus side though, I was extremely satisfied with how fast and easy it was for me to take the first dud one into the store and swap it out for a replacement. Easiest exchange process ever. Really appreciate that, Best Buy.
Overall I'd say this is more or less an average product that you may or may not be satisfied with. Gaming in 4K is amazing and this monitor will get it done for you, but my honest advice as someone who has a ton of electronics at home would be to wait for a while before you give into the 4K temptation. 4K monitors and TVs will probably make huge leaps in the next product generation, and you'll probably wind up paying less for a better product.

I'm really happy with this 4k monitor, the clarity is great and the viewing angle is pretty good, not as good as an IPS but not bad for the price. I would have preferred a IPS monitor but for the price this can't be beat. especially since I'm running multiple monitors and the costs adds up fast. I got two on the blackfriday sale and just purchased a third one since mixing monitor resolutions is not working so well (still kicking myself for not getting them all at the incredible price). I'll be using 3 of these monitors in my system which is primarily used for Autocad.

It is a very good monitor I think, from a strong company. Best Buy here in Westchester County did a good job. Store is fine. 4k and eye saver function keep me more relaxed over the course of the day. Of course nice to have a bunch more real-estate.
The downsides if can be considered downsides. Like many other companies Samsung likes to put shiny things on their products. The bezel and logo are a visual distraction. Like many other monitors and especially monitors of this size the stand mount and vesa mount are only passable. I would prefer rock solid over light weight in just about everything. Oh well. Times change, huh? Would have been nice to have IPS instead of TN for another hundred bucks maybe.

I purchased this for my husbands gaming PC because it was 4K. It was a great deal and the definition with the gaming console is absolutely beautiful. The picture quality is amazing and worth it to purchase a new monitor if upgrading your other equipment to 4K consoles/PC also. It completely enhances your gaming experience.

This is a great UHD monitor that you can get at about $500.
I don't know if I have enough qualifications to comment on picture quality or response time as I am not a graphics artist or a gamer. But I do spend a good deal of time programming, mostly looking at rather static screen. And for that type of use, this is a great monitor offering fine details and huge real estate for information. Although they say TN panels aren't as bright as IPS panels, but to me, this monitor delivers stunning UHD pictures. I agree with other reviewers on the point that the stand isn't holding the head solidly, and offers very minimal flexibility about adjustments -- it only allows a little bit of tilting; No height adjustments or rotation. Other than that, it's a great monitor, especially at that price! Of course it'd be nicer if it had speakers, USB ports, etc. on board. It does have an 3.5mm headphone jack, and you can get digital audio through the DP/HDMI cable.
I had hoped that Macbook Air could display 3840x2160 on this monitor, even if it's @30Hz, but it couldn't. Apparently, the limitation is on the Macbook Air's side, offering only up to 2560x1440@60Hz. Intel® NUC Kit D54250WYK can display at 3840x2160@30Hz Not being able to deal with 60Hz is is apparently limited by NUC -- even though Intel had, at one point, claimed that it could do @60Hz. Apparently, Intel has retracted that claim now.
The monitor works fine with my AMD A10-5800K/Asus-F2A85V-pro home-built desktop running Ubuntu/Win8.1 at 3840x2160@60Hz.

I’ve never used a monitor for gaming but I was looking for a 4K monitor to use with my Xbox one x that plays game in 4K. Sucks that there’s no sound but the picture quality is great and is an affordable monitor. First 4K monitor that I’ve seen with 1ms response time without having to search online for it

Thank God I purchased from Best Buy. I originally purchased a wide aspect regular HD monitor of a competing brand. It was broken, Best Buy replaced. Then I got the replacement up and running I didn't care for the monitors focus and brightness. I returned and paid $21 more for this monitor. Wow!! What a huge difference UHD makes when run off of a MacBook Pro retina. This monitor, after tweaking the color a bit is nearly as good as the Retina display. It's not quite as bright however this is due to the very light antiglare finish. I definitely would recommend this monitor to anyone looking for super crisp text and cold color and brightness. The only negative is the viewing angle. You must sit directly in from of this screen. If you don't the edges warm up in color and the view is disappointing from a bystanders prospective. Otherwise I would rate a 5. Now, I couldn't find anything UHD in this price category and I couldn't justify spending $300 more for the next available UHD monitor. Best Buy has become my "go to" for most electronics. Best Buys extended warranties are the real deal and the geek squad has been a life saver more than once for my family.

Wow, what can I say? Upgrade is impressive and screen real estate is amazing. If you want 4k on a budget, this monitor holds up. You can easily spend $1500-$2000 on a high-end 4k monitor, so this one is definitely worth a look.

I bought this monitor to extend the screen on my wife's computer. I wasn't expecting much but have been very happy with the purchase. The color is vibrant and has a crisp display on text. My wife has already recommended this exact monitor to her friends.

My old monitor was a little smaller than this one. This monitor is larger and brighter. Everything is easier to read and pictures are sharp and clear. I didn't know there could be such a difference. I recommend this monitor to everyone. You will really be happy with it.

Seems like every 4K monitor has a percentage of negative reviews so I was skeptical getting one. This one had a good price and I am very happy with Samsung monitors so gave it a try. Its a great monitor at a good price. I expect to by another one shortly.

Recently purchased a HP Spectre 360 4K laptop and already had a 4K Targus dual monitor docking station. I wanted a pair of monitors that would give me 4K across all 3 screens. Samsung has never let me down, so I purchased two of these monitors and they are fantastic. Very bright and vivid. Windows 10 recommends 250% scaling for the laptop and 150% for these monitors. My personal preference is 250% across the board. One thing to keep in mind is that the 4K resolution may affect certain apps sizing behavior but that can be addressed by the app properties compatibility mode settings for DPI.

So far so good. I like the quality and I hope that monitor will beat the previous one. My last Samsung lasted only 3 years. It would be nice to have integrated speakers but that is not the case. Either way it’s pleasure to have that monitor connected to the pc.

This is a great monitor. It is a 28 inch, UHD, very bright, very colorful, very high resolution and definition. If you are looking for a top monitor in this size and price range, I don't think you will find anything better, or even its equal.

I have needed a monitor for a while, and didn't know about 4k monitors, and spending this much money for one was soooo scary, it's a RIDICULOUS amount of money, but the monitor is really large and the picture is great. The guys at the store told me that DSLR pictures are in 4k and that is what I wanted it for so they talked me into it. Unfortunately my Mac Mini is too old to support 4k, but since it is so old and will need to be replaced I decided to splurge on this monitor. So I can't tell about the 4k resolution yet, but other than that it's great. I like the large size and the picture is good, certainly much better than my REALLY old tube monitor. Unfortunately since I splurged so much on this monitor, I don't know when I will be able to afford to replace my Mini, but...someday...!!!

I pricematched this to well under $300 with tax... and at that price it’s a deal for 4K. The screen quality is great for intro to 4k. Build quality is just ok but acceptable for the price paid. I had reservations about non ips display but it’s great for my needs and don’t have any issues with the viewing angles especially if the trade off is better response times for games (though still hard to notice 1ms vs 5 ms). I have an nvdia got so I can’t comment on the amd vsync.
