I’m not certain most of us would pick a USB drive on it’s environmental impact alone, but assuming we believe that SanDisk has made a USB thumb drive out of mostly recycled plastic and still manages killer speeds to boot, seems like a win-win. This is a typical USB thumb drive that we’ve all seen an undoubtedly own. In my opinion, anything less than 64 GB isn’t worth buying, given the steep drop in costs, and 128 GB is a good sweet spot in terms of size and cost. Plus, who wants to save hundreds of GBs of data on a thumb drive that’s susceptible of being lost? In my work and professional life, I’m using USB drives to move large amounts of data - dozens of GBs of various documents and videos/photos. So speeds are a must for me. USB 2.0 need not apply. This drive boasts impressive speeds, with the only caveat being your machine must be able to accommodate those speeds to take full advantage (if nothing else, this drive is future proof). In terms of the physical aspect of the USB drive, it’s small, but not too small. I’ve seen smaller ones that are even easier to lose. This one is short and stubby. It also has a loop to hook it onto a keychain or something else to keep it secure. Tough to say how it holds up over time, but first impressions are that it’s relatively durable. It comes with SanDisk software preinstalled, but I don’t typically mess with that. I generally quick format my drive and set it up for encryption. Before jumping into real world performance, I do need to mention that I have an ASUS gaming laptop with GEN4 SSD. It also has USB 3.2 compatible ports. Point being, and it’s probably obvious, older laptops won’t be able to transfer at the same speeds as me. But I copied a 3.3 GB video file from my computer to the thumb drive. As you can see in the screenshot, it averaged about 50 MB/s transfer speeds. Not quite the 100 MB/s, although it peaked over 50 at some points. But all-in-all, it took a little over 60 seconds to transfer the whole file. To me, that’s fast, although it didn’t hit the advertised speeds. Honestly, I never expect any data transfer to be as fast as theoretical speeds; at least in real world cases. Bottomline, this is a relatively cheap USB thumb drive with terrific speeds. It has a convenient hook to keep on a keychain that seems durable enough. And it’s made of recycled plastic to boot. Not sure how much that matters to you, but it’s at least proof that our tech devices can be somewhat eco friendly without sacrificing performance.

The SanDisk Ultra Eco USB Gen1 Flash Drive is a flash drive that is made of 70% recycled plastic. It eco friendly, has a fast speed and is pocketsized. This flashdrive has a 128GB of storage with speeds up to 100 megabytes per second. It is small in size which makes it easy to store and even has a loop on the end that can easily be added to a key ring, backpack, lanyard or loop inside your purse. The SanDisk Flash drive is great to use at work or home. I was able to copy a ton of photographs from one location and move them to another very quickly. There is plenty of room to store lots of photos, videos, or other multi-media files on the flash drive. I was able to move a lot of data between a personal drive and a SharePoint at work in no time at all. I was surprised as how much faster it was to move the data that way than to copy a One Drive file to the SharePoint file. I don't have time to waste at work and this defintily helped me out. The price on this flash drive is good. You are able to get storage with speed for under $20. Plus it is eco friendly. Definitly something I can recommend.

This is a great drive with 128GB on the device. It's small enough to put into a pocket or even keyring and take with you. I like the deep teal color which is made out of recycled plastics; Design wise it's nothing too special but the color does give it a nice vibe. For what it is and the price point is at its very good value to have on your hands. Placed it inside a USB port for a Windows 11 PC, and the PC instantly recognized the device as USB storage allowing me to use the device quickly. Downloading my files was quick, easy, and painless. Backing up pictures, Documents, Pictures, Videos, and Music was giving fast enough transfer speeds. Using it for other PCs for presentations was fast enough to open on the flash drive. SanDisk did a fantastic job putting this product together for school, work, or play. As long as it last I think this will be a solid USB storage to go to if you are looking for something to have around even to use as a back up stoage device. It also work in TVs, Game Consoles, Chromebooks, and so much more. Comes with a free download to RescuePRO Deluxe. Great product.

    Good reads, bad writes

The SanDisk - Ultra Eco is a cute little thumb drive, that claims 100MB/s read speeds and an eco friendly casing. If you're super into Eco stuff, this drive will probably work well enough for you and you'll save a little bit of the environment in the process, though I'm sort of sad they still used plastic on the packaging instead of full cardboard. For any serious tech user, SanDisk could have done a lot better with a USB 3.2 drive. In my testing, I was able to get about 107 sequential read, but only 40 sequential write. That's not bad if you plan on using this as an installation media drive, but for day to day use, that's not great. For comparison, a good quality SanDisk SD card in a USB 3.0 reader will do about 94 read and 63 write. Maybe they had to trade off some of the write for that extra read speed in their product, but I personally would have liked a more level approach. I'm also not a fan of the USB plug on the unit I have. The fit is tight to the point that I have to line up things just perfectly to get it into the USB port. I almost thought I was trying to use it the wrong way until I verified both the plug and the sock. The plug also feels like it should be rotated. The curved plastic feels intuitive that it should be on the top side, but instead the curve rotates down. This is different from other USB cables and drives I have and just feels off. Over all though this drive does what it claims to do, just be sure to always read the fine print when purchasing any USB drive

San disk is a go to name for storage. I own many form factors from SD to micro SD to thumb drives. They have been very reliable and have good duty cycles before dying. I have only caused 2 micro SD cards (I have owned about 30 different types of storage devices from San disk) to fail in the 10+ years that I have used their products. This eco drive is really nice. Setup was a snap. Self recognized on windows and I used the rescue pro software that it comes with that is free for 1 year. It is nice and small. It goes well on a key chain. Just make sure you put it on correctly. Putting it on the wrong way will make it not really line up with the rest of the keys. Transfer rates are great.... Upload of HUGE files (GB) size I was getting 50 MB/s via encrypted. Non encrypted: Upload to drive for HUGE files: Upload to drive 80MB/s Download from drive to PC 100 MB/s. Eco friendly, fast speeds, nice color, small form factor, good warranty, reliable name. Can't go wrong. I would recommend this product.

This flash drive is part of the SanDisk Ultra Eco line. This new line is designed to be environmentally friendly by being made from over 70 percent recycled plastic. Other than that, what you have here is a fully functional 128 GB flash drive. It features a USB-A 3.2 port for fast data transfers of up to 100 mb per second. I tested the speed by moving large video files from my PC to my backup flash drive and the high speed does make a difference. It can cut the wait time in half for large file transfers. For maximum performance, be sure to use a USB-A version 3.0 or higher port. These high speed ports can be identified by the blue color of the plug in the port. Another way to identify the generation of the port is by checking the device manager.list which will identify the version. Most of my newer laptops lack a USB-A port, so a USB-A to USB-C adapter will be necessary if you want to use it with a laptop on the go. Another option is to use a USB-C hub. I primarily use my laptops with a hub and this flash drive works flawlessly with the two different ones (one at work and one at home) that I tested it with. This drive is small enough to easily fit in a pocket or a bag. It also has a loop that can be attached to a keychain or tied down to a bag with a strap. Which is smart because the small size would make it easy to lose track of. If you need a 128 GB flash drive, I wholeheartedly recommend that you give this one a look. It is fast, portable, and reliable. Everything you would expect from a SanDisk product.

The SanDisk 128GB USB Flash Drive is a good option for storing large media files, especially if you’re not moving files very often. I got this 128GB USB to store large video files that I really just need to clear out of my other storage devices. I can see this being used on my PlayStation or TV to play video files. I know some businesses use a flash drive to loop promotional videos on their lobby TV’s so this 128GB Flash Drive could be a good option for that too as long as the TV accepts the USB format. I learned that all USB drives are originally formatted to FAT32 which does not allow transferring of single files that are over 4GB. I encountered this issue when trying to transfer a 7GB video file. I work on a Mac so I ended up formatting this SanDisk flash drive (through Disk Utility) to exFAT which then allowed me to transfer the 7GB file. Transferring small files doesn’t take much time as the rate is 100mb/s. I can suggest this SanDisk 128GB flash drive if you’re a basic file user or are just looking to move large files on occasion. I don’t suggest it for daily or weekly digital content transfers (video and photo files can easily be 50GB if that’s your line of work so unless you’re okay with the transfer times, this may be a good option for you). Here are the times I recorded when transferring files to the SanDisk 128GB USB (in the original format 32FAT): 388MB in 5 seconds 986MB in 25 seconds 1.3GB in 45 seconds 5.7GB in 4 minutes & 30 seconds 27GB in 18 minutes After formatting to exFAT, I recorded more transfer times: 549 MB in 20 seconds 1.3GB in 45 seconds 3.8GB in 2 minutes & 25 seconds 7GB in 3 minutes & 45 seconds 22GB in 16 minutes & 15 seconds I try to be as eco-friendly as I can so I’m glad that this piece of technology is made from recycled plastic. As far as the actual operation of the flash drive, I would like it to be faster, but the advertised speed is what it is. Sometimes the initial mount wouldn’t register, I had to unplug and plug it back in then it would register with the device. I will continue to use this product for occasional large file storage or transfers.

To say I've had a lot of Sandisk memory cards or flash drives is an understatement! But if it ain't broke no fix it right? I've never had one fail or have an issue like some other brands so I like to try new items they have out from time to time. This one caught my eye because it's said to be made up of over 70% of recycled plastics and material. So a company looking out for the environment in turn, is looking out for me! It's a USB 3.2 Gen 1. It has great read and write times. It's quoted to up to have 100mbs read speeds. It's super small and you can clip it right on your key ring and take it with you anywhere. This brings me to the one negative thing in my opinion about this flash drive. It doesn't retract inside to protect the piece that inserts at all and it doesn't come with some kind of sheath to protect it from getting damaged or getting dirt or anything inside. And if you put this on a key ring, 9 times out of 10 this will be thrown around. But that's my only hang up with this item. Overall its a nice lil flash drive and would recommend it to others

I remember when I had to pay a premium per gb for flash storage, and fast forward to now, with 128 gb available for much cheaper than what I paid for 1-2 gb. The sea green color in product photos actually looks more like a hunter green in reality. See my photos for reference. I usually default to non-descript black for my usb drives, but the green actually stands out and makes it easier to find in my stash. Even better, the drive has a small key loop built in. I thought it’d be a non-factor, but in use, I actually love it. Because the drive is so small, it’d swim around in my work bag even with a dedicated small pocket for my electronics. I have it on my key ring and I never have to search for it. Speed wise, the usb 3.2 standard is light years ahead of my old usb 1 and 2 drives. Moving large caches of RAW photos and videos, I was still getting 50 mb/s, but using my Omen laptop with appropriate ports to generate the speeds. My older Surface wasn’t able to get those speeds, likely because the ports themselves are only usb 2.0.

This SanDisk USB Flash Drive is much faster than USB Flash Drives I've used from companies such as PNY, Teamgroup, and Silicon Power. The ones from Teamgroup and Silicon Power actually had video files transferred, which resulted in corrupted files. The Silicon Power Flash Drive even was unreadable and completely forced my Hisense U8K TV into a mode that forced the U8K TV into being frozen until a "Hard Reset" was done on the TV by using a paper click to hold down the "Reset" button on the TV. This SanDisk USB Flash Drive has an excellent Password type of program pre-installed onto it. If you have profiles you would like to keep secure, this would help you out quite a bit. This SanDisk USB also comes with a pre-installed format of "FAT32," even in the 128GB version I purchased. This is helpful, because Windows only allows a partition using the "FAT32" format to be created up to 32GB at a time. You can use other apps to make it so FAT32 is used to make an individual partition larger than 32GB, but it is nice that SanDisk has the entire partition as a 128GB "FAT32" partition due to the fact that a TV I use to watch a lot of movies on is only compatible with "FAT32" and is not compatible with "NTFS" or "exFAT." This SanDisk USB Flash Drive transfers files up to 4GB in size in FAT32. The files are very smooth between 80MB/s to 100MB/s the entire time. In comparison, the brands such as PNY, TeamGroup, and Silicon Power will be incredibly slow with wide ranges of "highs" and "lows" that go from 32MB/s down to only 2MB/s back and forth the entire time like some sort of ping pong ball. The SanDisk Flash Drive is much better and far more "constant" with the data transfer rate.

I needed a more "permanent" USB Flash Drive and got this one. I like the color and the small size. The width of this device does not crowd the usb ports so other devices can be plugged in next to it. It also saves data, lots of it, which for the size is impressive.
