Hard Drives are a must if you collect video and music. Reliable hard drives are a total must. Seagate has proven for me, reliability and fast. I love that this drive connects by way of USB 3.1 and has 3.1 ports of connection on the front as well. This allows this device be add 2 extra USB ports.

Absolutely love this. Setting it on hourly auto-backup allows total peace of mind. Terrific value for 8TB of storage capacity. No regrets here.

Huge Capacity, Easy Setup, Fast and Reliable. it worked out of the box. Installed easily without any issues, and the computer recognized it.

This external drive works just fine and has ample storage. The only minor complaint is that it is a bit noisy--I had a mini with 4TB of storage that was completely quiet so that was my expectation. The sound of the unit running is not distracting so I can work, but it is audible. Other than that I am pleased with this purchase.

I finally have my entire digital archive in one place after a consolidation of my previous 3Tb and 1Tb harddrives. I still have 4 terabytes of space left over which is incredibly nice. This HD is perfect and doesn't have any flaws to speak of. It's quiet and about the same size as my 3Tb HD. Definitely worth the price and have already recommended this to friends.

Filled the drives over usb 3.0, averaged 140 or so MB/s so they run at full spinning disk speeds. Happy with that, and no read errors

An external hard drive is pretty much either good or bad. It works or it doesn't. This one works. It transfers data quickly and quietly. After a day of copying data, it was just slightly warm to the touch. The USB ports are a nice addition but I don't use them. I just bought this model because it was on sale for less than the standard 8tb external drives.

I bought this for some extra room for games on my Xbox One. Works great. Plenty of storage and very fast.

Lots of space to backup my desktop and laptop and simple to use no weird dashboard and stuff. l didn't use any of the included software and your not required to. that's a plus for me I prefer to just drag and drop my backups in their own files. front hub is also a plus. just stick your USB drive in and drag whatever you want onto the drive.

I shoot a lot of 4K video and go through a lot of large hard drives. My staple is the Seagate Plus 8TB drives, and now they're even better with two USB slots right in the front of the drive.

purchased as a backup for computer and photos. Has a large capacity and usb ports to easily download, but had an issue with backup it kept stating that it needed permissions. Called microsoft and they ran a couple of test and they said settings were fine to ignore the request.

I have been using this drive for several weeks with no issues. It is connected to a USB 3.0 port and performs as well as my internal drives. Backup/restore (write/read) of files is actually faster than my internal drive because there are no other activities being performed on the drive. I should have bought two of these when they were on sale.

The added two USB ports in the front help with the flexibility. The costs and added storage for my computer helps with the video projects I use. I got this for the added storage and not the speed. The speed is not bad either, but I would not recommend it for a primary drive for access.

So far have been able to copy files from this Massive HD very quickly, and reliably. It is a very big plus to also have additional USB ports on the drive to be able to connect more devices. I have been using this to coalesce backups from several other drives, and can do so with this alone (no need for an additional usb hub expander.

I have read reviews about it dying early and so forth. I have had this for a few months now. I bought it on a slickdeal sale of $200. You cannot find 8TB for this pricing anywhere else. It holds well and I have it running majority of the time. It is useful for sharing on your home network. Although Apple TV cannot read it, but if you have a ROKU or any other android based device you can read off it through your home network. Performance is good not the best but its good for its capacity and price.

This is my latest in a long line of external HDs from Seagate, WD, and Samsung, and, so far, seems to be the best value of the bunch. Build is solid, and USB 3.0 speed is quite good. Two USB ports in front are nice to have. Only con so far is that it is heavy and sound a little noisy. Hopefully, it will last.

Great product for a great price. Just need to be reformatted for MAC as Journaled Encriypted in utilities. Easy to do and use.

We bought this to expand game capacity on our XBox One. It could not have been easier to install and it has a ton of space. We shouldn't run out of room for awhile. It was was truly plug and play. We are very happy with our purchase.

Storage space is always a plus. Getting this on sale is even better. The two USB ports on the front are really convenient. Great way to transfer your C Drive to a safe place for back up just in case. Will buy another as the need arises.

Seagate is a very good product, with easy to understand instructions. If a problem arises,there is a variety of help from Seagate website to related Youtube sites which give a very comprehensive tutorial. The 8TB machine is great for your photos,videos and other important documents.
