I was shopping around for a while and couldn't settled for a good external hard drive. Very undecided about picking one with cloud services and all, but then I came to realize that I don't need all those bells and whistles. I like the fact that my old hard drive plugs right in to this one and the computer sees both. No need to use another USB. I'm happy with it, mac picks it up right away for time machine, windows sees it as well, so I'm all set.

This new Seagate drive is my alternate drive for my Mac Time Machine backups. The only thing I had to do with it was format it to Mac OS Extended (Journaled). The other Seagate Backup Plus Hub was already in that format. The Seagate Backup Plus Hub drives are sufficiently fast and work perfectly for Time Machine. And, I get two extra USB ports on the front of the drives where they are very useful.

Lots of storage for a reasonable price. We needed to conform to both mac and pc and this was easy to use.

So I got this just after buying a new laptop, which most often serves as my desk computer. I use the USB ports on the front to power the remote module for my external keyboard and mouse so it is always on. No problem accessing it from my computer, and lots of storage for the absurd amount of vacation photos I have accumulated over the years. Two years in and no problems so far.

This has a lot of space and I expected it to run slowly. I get maybe 10mps/sec on my sd cards, up to 45 on some of my other usb drives, but this always runs over 100mb/sec on my windows 7, 8 and 10 computers. Which is saying something - because half my drives won't even work with all windows. My WD passport drive is not recognized on windows 10 at all, tried multiple computers after moving on from win8. This brand seems to play nicer.

I'm very impressed with this drive. I like that it comes with software for me to designate what I want backed up. At 3 tb, I don't expect to run out of space any time soon.

So had a 500GB external drive originally. It did its job but the downside of that is when the console went into deep sleep after 24 hours or less of not being powered up it wouldn't power the drive back on if the console was to turn on. So you had to reconnect it to get it work. Now with this, its own power supply its fantastic! Turn on the box, and boom, it comes on. No issues and plenty of space. While some might say the external PSU for this is a hassle. I think its fantastic and its what makes this unit great at least for consoles with the reasoning I gave above on another product.

Waited for a long while to determine if this product was worth it. After many uses it works well with our need for storage.

Needed storage for backups, LOVE that it came with two ports. My Mac recognized it immediately. It wants to back up more frequently than I want it to, so I just unplug it. (Also I do audio work and the fan can be picked up by the mic cycling on and off) but I can just plug it in when i want to back up and it is great.

This 4TB drive was awesome. It was easy to hook up, recognized automatically, and with the USB hub on the front, it made it easy to plug in flash drives to back up and such. That being said though, this one died from mechanical failure after about 2 months of use. Needless to say I am still pretty bitter about it as I lost 2.5TB of data.

Bought this drive over the other ones because of the built in USB hub. I have an older iMac and there are no easily accessible USB ports since they are all on the back. With the ports on the front of this drive I now have some that are accessable. The drive works as expected and is reasonably priced.

I love this hard drive . It's 4 GB and made very sturdy and solid . I like the color white . Also backs up iPhone and smart phones . I like that I has 2 connection ports . I would buy another one when I need additional storage capacity . Set up is easy .

Ready to use out of the box. Simply plugged it in, attached via USB port and started backing up my files. I simply dragged and dropped and left the room, when I returned I had a perfect copy of my important file, pictures, videos, etc in a secure location.

Since I use my surface book for my business and I felt the need to backup my information since I have limited space on the surface book. This was exactly what I need to back up all my information. Great deal for the price and the amount of memory.

I love this drive. It was easy to set up and I hardly know it is running, unlike some other drives I have had. Fast writing to the disc as well. Plus it is 4 TB for an amazing price. Happy with my purchase for sure.

After researching several Hard Drives I chose the Seagate - Backup Plus Hub for Mac 4TB External USB 3.0 Portable Hard Drive about 3 weeks ago. Set-up was easy and I have had no problems. I bought my first Seagate in 2009 & it has worked flawlessly since then. Seagate has always had a solid reputation for good hard drives and I would purchase one again.

Intended to attach to my router's USB to serve as a backup for computers on my LAN, unfortunately it does not work. Tested on individual computer which worked great. Very useful feature of extra USB pass-through so it does not take up 1 USB port if it is plug-in all the time. Very responsive, love the size and did not take much time to be up and ready when plug-in.
