A nice LARGE hard drive. Very reliable. The inclusion of the USB 3.0 interface makdes it even better.

Speed is very fast. I like the usb 3.0. I didn't use the hub function. The external hd function is enough. And it has big size.

I was needing an external, high-capacity HDD to serve as a Plex Media Server library for a family member; This device was easily the highest-rated, highest-performing 4TB external HDD available at the time, and my experience with pushing bulk media to the drive was consistent with specifications and performance described in reviews. I'll be getting one for myself in the near future.

Solid Harddrive. Competitive with others on the market. The USB 3.0 hub is a super convenient bonus. I'd recommend this to any PC or Mac user as I am using one for each at our office.

Bought this model for the convenience of two additional easy-access USB ports at my iMac workstation. (The ports are on the front, unobstructed.) Was easy to set up and appears to be working fine for my Time Machine backups. Of course, the true measure of its value will be how long it lasts! Based on prior experience with Seagate products I expect it will be at least OK.

I use Netgear wireless routers which has software called READYSHARE that allows you to attach USB drives attached to it from your PC as though they were local drives. However if you want to add more a hub does NOT work; even a powered hub. This one however DOES. With the built in hub I can now access 2 more 4tb drives for a total of 12Tb accessible via 3 drive letters.

Great Hard drive in general. Speed is great sometimes. Good others. That's my only real complaint. The speed is not consistent. You can see 100Mb per sec sometimes and 10Mb per at others. Not sure if this is normal use case or not for a spinning disk drive. It generally reads and writes at about 50Mb per sec which is plenty fast. That said, It works well. Love the drag and drop nature of the drive. I edit videos off of it for my YouTube channel, and it works great. Would I buy this again? Yup. Check out my YouTube review below. Lots of storage space for a very good price. Definitely recommend

Even though this hard drive doesn't run at 7200 RPMs, or have the largest level 2 cache available, for what it is it is a great value. The cost per gigabyte was incredible, the case is well-built, and it serves its purpose of extra storage beautifully. I wouldn't try to run an operating system off of it, but for file storage at a great price it's the way to go.

We needed to store more movies than we had room on our other external hard drives. We put all the movies we have on externals so that we can watch any movie we want quickly, rather than having to search through all the dvd's that we own. Much easier to see a list and pick and click than try to figure out which box of dvd's a movie is in and where that box is.

I bought this to replace the Western Digital My Cloud drive that I never could get to work right with Apple's Time Machine backups (despite many, many hours of trying). This drive worked great right out of the box! It works fine with TimeMachine, my automatic backups are seamless now. It relatively compact and looks great in the corner of my desk.
