This is the HD I've been waiting for. It's like having your own personal cloud. Set up was easy, operates easily. It is great to be able to backup photos, etc. while traveling, on a hard drive that is sitting in your home, miles away. Best hard drive I own. It's also nice to be able to access and back up files wirelessly from all computers, phones and tablets while at home. Having one at home and one at the office or a relative would solve all off-site backup concerns.

We purchased the Seagate - Central 4TB Personal Cloud Storage External Hard Drive to house all of our pictures, movies and music so that we and our kids would be able to access theses at will and at times simultaneously. It was easy to set up on all of our devices (computers, IPads, phones). We are looking to purchase a second one for back up.

This is an amazing device and does do what it advertises. The problem is that you do a lot of initial configurations before you really know what you want and then they make it difficult to turn back and reconfigure it the way that suits the owner best. The photo and music library makes allot of duplicate entries and you lose all original folder organization.

I have tied using the included software, but found it too cumbersome and complicated. And anyway, I find the cloud much easier to use for backup. But as an additional 4 TB of storage for all the computers in our home, it's perfectly fine. It's quiet and that size allowed me to replace a whole plethora of external drives that were getting up there in years.

I have multiple laptops and a desktop. Being able to back up all my computers in 1 place, as well as back up photos so they don't take up so much space on my computer is very convenient, I had no problems setting it up, and have had no problems keeping my digital files backed up in a secure location which I can access at anytime.

The Seagate Central solved my streaming media needs with ease. I have two smart TV's in the house and needed a way to wireless connect to all my videos. The Central does just that. Installation was a breeze. Just plug into an open port on my router and my network found the new device and installed the needed software.

This is a nice device if you are looking for flexibility with placement of storage device and being able to connect it to many devices without all the crazy wires. It installed easily but the remote access function is a little confusing on how it works. Overall this is a good device and would recommend to others.

Set up was more difficult than expected, but ultimately figured it out and was able to set up recurring backups of my computer. Remote access to pictures is a bit slow but works well. Overall, a great product for the price.

I bought this unit to allow me to share date with my wife at home and with my sons and grand kids securely. It seems to do exactly what I want and was super easy to set up and get started. I would recommend the Seagate Cloud Central to my family and friends.

I like how easily accessible the items are via the app so you can easily view files you've uploaded. Additionally it was great to find such a great deal on this storage device.

I found the unit works excellent. it is a little bit slow on the speed of incoming and outgoing file transfers but it can handle multiple movies streams or audio and I do like, that even though it is not advertised it does have FTP capability. I do wish that the software had a slight lead better interface for getting to your private folders which are allowed by programming through a standard HTTP page. other than that is very good and I would highly recommend it.

I'm using this a a media server for my htpc and so far it's working great. Setting it up is a breeze and accessing my files is easy. I highly recommend this for anyone who streams media, or needs a central location to house files.

Is not fully compatible with my Sony bluray, I can't watch all the videos.

Perfect for my household, combined 2 portable external drives that were shaky in their performance on this. Ease of use and setup was very good. Works great, streamlines the entire household's use and storage capabilities.

This is a great network-attached drive which (after a little setup) can be accessed from anywhere on the planet using Seagates own software apps. The only minor issue I have with the drive is that the USB port for attaching external drives to it is only USB2.0, would have loved to see a USB3.0 port here instead for the extra transfer speeds.

After reading the reviews, I was a little leery of what I was in for (installation), but after getting it home and setting it up, installation went smoothly . Accessing it, however, takes a little longer than I'm accustomed to, but is within reasonable expectations considering you are saving/pulling files from/to over a wireless network.

Easy setup for anyone with little tech skills. Go get one.

It's a good NAS and houses my massive iTunes library.

Easy to set up, access device away from home and while at home on multiple wi-fi capable devices. I would recommend this product to anyone looking to start a digital library.
