purchased for the new amazon fire TV, while the new fire TV is underwhelming, this little thing is great.
Between this and the bluetooth keyboard/touchpad I purchased. I have spent as much on remotes as the fire TV though....
Oh well.... this attachment is everything the amazon remote should have been.

My audio system is kept on child lock since my toddler likes buttons and was so tired of looking for the remote to change the volume all the time. Now its all on one remote and i was able to program the extra buttons for input and menu options. Purchased two of these for my firetv and firetv stick.

Sideclick clips neatly onto the Fire TV remote, is easily programmed to control on-off, volume, muting, etc. You can program buttons to control any function on your tv remote that suits you. I set one to control format to adjust picture to fill the screen when needed.
It’s an inexpensive cure to having to deal with two remotes for controlling all the functions you want.
No regrets. Cancelled all cable service except high speed internet, have more channels available, saving over $100/month, and a control that is convenient.
Sideclick is well designed, attaches snugly, (maybe makes the small remote a little harder to misplace!) and is recommended.

If you're looking to cut the cord by using services through your Amazon Fire TV or TV Stick, this is quintessential to making the experience much more pleasant. You can use a single remote, even if it's got an attachment, by adding this since you can now control the TV power, input, and volume.
I really like that the buttons can learn individually, so you can program volume to control your home theater system, while the power button controls your TV, and the two extra buttons can be used for home theater power etc. My only complaints are two:
1- Amazon should really just add the basic TV buttons like these to the standard remote
2 - If it must be an add-on, I would have preferred it was mounted to the remote by replacing the battery compartment door as opposed to being clipped on since it just looks a little clunky as a clip. But I do like the buttons being along the side as opposed to underneath as a competitor's product designed it

I just programmed the remote and so far it works exactly as I expected. I purchased this for $19.99 on Sunday evening and did in-store pickup. The next day (Cyber Monday) it dropped to $14.99. Tiffani at the local Best Buy noticed this and refunded the difference. Excellent customer service!

The Fire TV remote is so small it's hard for me to hold. This corrected that problem. Also it was nice to have the additional programmable buttons for power, volume, source, etc to eliminate having to manage a second remote. I'll purchase another one for our Apple TV when they go on sale.

Good Universal Learning Remote

Solved the problem of the mysterious disappearing tv remote. It is also learning remote, meaning it “learns” each button of the original remote, rather than a code. This allows programming of select buttons from multiple remotes. For example the tv and AV receiver.

The remote is practical and convenient; Ergonomically feels pretty good in hand; however, to a certain extent it can be limited especially with the channel function, in that in many applications it will not change the channel up or down (a major disappointment); It is good for turning your TV on/off and operating volume (both a major plus). It is also good for setting sleep timer, changing video input, etc. Nonetheless, it is definitely overpriced. A $20-$25 price point would make this a pretty good buy; but at $30 imho is a bit too high. I only bought this because I had to use up some BBY reward points.

We recently got rid of our cable company for streaming TV. We loved it but our only issue was the remote. We had to use our old cable remote to shut off the TV and change the volume. This unit was very easy to setup and I couldn’t imagine not having it now.

This item allows one to add control features from different remotes. I made the power, button turn on/off the TV; the plus/minus buttons control the TV volume. The "A" button turns on the home theater system. The up and down arrows control the theater system volume. Sweet! Now I can use one control instead of multi remote. I wish it has more buttons which I can even connect more remote.

A Must Have Item for all Fire TV Owners

I'm reviewing the SideClick for Amazon FireTV 2 Remote with Voice Capability.
I had heard about this device quite a while ago, but looking at the price of $30 seemed kind of expensive for what it was. A few weeks ago, it went on sale for $19.99 and that's when I pulled the trigger and purchased 3 of them to outfit all of my Amazon FireTV units.
The SideClick is simply a device that reads infrared signals from any of your existing remotes when a button on your original remote is pressed. It then stores that signal and can then transmit that specific signal whenever you press the button you have associated with it on the SideClick device.
So if you have a separate remote for your TV, your Surround Sound,etc... you simply program in only those buttons you need from each remote into the Sideclick, and now you have all your basic daily required functions in one place.
For me, I only needed to program the Power Button of my TV, and the Volume Up and Down from my Surround Sound System. Once done, I could basically remove the batteries from the original remotes and store them away, and simply use the SideClick attached to the Amazon FireTV 2 remote to handle the basic functions needed to watch TV each day.
Remember, the Amazon Fire TV Remote devices are using Bluetooth wireless signal, not infrared.
On the SideClick, any of the buttons can be assigned to any function you desire regardless of how they are marked on the SideClick, so keep that in mind when you are programming it.
Overall, I'm very pleased with the SideClick device and how it functions. Unlike most infrared remote devices, the SideClick has a very wide infrared beam so you don't have to be too careful when pointing it at the device you want to control, so that is really nice and simply a pleasure to use.
It would be really cool if Amazon would incorporate those extra buttons and infrared learning functions directly into their remote, but somehow I don't see that happening anytime soon.

Simple, yet well designed product. Clicks on to the Fire TV remote, allowing for the use of only one remote to control TV and Fire TV. Very simple to program the handful of buttons. Highly recommended.

This Sideclick is something that should be included with all Amazon TV products. Who in their right mind wants to fumble with a separate remote to turn on the television and control the volume. Programming the accessory is simple and it just plain works.

I have 3 separate remotes, one for my TV, one for my soundbar and one for my Amazon firebox. I hated having to keep track of all of them and use all three at one time.
With the sideclick, I have one remote to control all 3 and I am so happy. This is a great product, includes batteries and is in a well designed packaging. Programming is very easy, just read the included instructions as the programming is not the same as most other universal remotes.

I purchased this item on a whim while black Friday shopping. I had wanted one for a while because I hated using multiple remotes. When getting it home it seemed decently made although makes the remote pretty wide which I was not a fan of. I quickly came to the realization that it would not work for me though since I have a audio receiver that controls volume levels and the remote can not be programmed to several different remotes at least from what I could tell. On top of that I know longer have the remote for my tv and you learn remotes by pointing the old at this device. I ended up returning and in the end I bought a Logitech harmony hub.

This remote attachment is pretty nice. It programs really easy and very quickly. I programmed buttons from two different remotes and had absolutely no issue. Two reasons for four stars instead of five although both of them are very minor. I wish that it had 2-4 more buttons that you could program. Then I could pretty much just drawer my other remotes. The other is that you have to press the buttons a little harder than the original remote it seems. Maybe the signal it sends is not as strong? Still a great device that is well worth the money.

As a cord cutter, I use my Fire TV remote all the time. The Sideclick allows me to control my TV, change OTA channels and many other things. This remote allows you to program more than one remote to it, so I have it controlling my TV functions except volume. I was able to program my volume keys to control my sound bar. It also lets you change source and includes 2 programmable buttons. Not bad for $30.
I give it 4.5 stars.

Product was super easy to setup and has made using my fire stick alongside my sound bar and tv, very simple. I went from having 3 different remotes to just one! The only improvement would be a stronger construction.

This is a really handy attachment to the Amazon Fire TV remotes that adds a lot more functionality. Programming the attachment was fast and simple. Now I can turn on the TV, switch TV inputs, and even change channels and volume. The attachment adds some heft to the Amazon remote, but the added features are worth it. I see myself using this while traveling once the pandemic ends.
