Definitely a pain to set up. i bought a SIM kit because i read that the sim that came with it does not work. this is correct. Also to save yourself another headache. use the Verizon SIM, the T-Mobile one does not work. Other than that, this thing is great! it's fast and works very well. definitely worth it!

Ok. Everyone is saying it’s easy to set up, and I was sleep deprived, but i didn’t find it easy. The illustrations were very vague (i should know I was a technical designer and made technical drawings that had to transcend language barriers) the Simple Mobile site wasn’t particularly helpful nor was the app. Not particularly aesthetically pleasing either.
First night it was ok. Worked well. I’m staying in a guest studio that doesn’t have wifi and will be staying there maybe once every 6 weeks? So I thought this would be my solution. I used all of the 15gb the first night (I was streaming but it wasn’t continuing to play, after I crashed) i had also maxed the data on my phone, AND the included carrier wifi had stopped working. So I walked down the street thinking i could buy a SIM card at 7/11 but nooooo. So i bought more GBs by standing outside world market. I took a bird scooter back. I was able to unlock it so I could ride home but i couldn’t end the ride until I got inside my studio. And I had just paid $55 cuz simple mobile won’t let you start at $35 or $49 then add on after the first set of GBs are done.
The rest of the evening and next morning, the little pager from 1992 looking bastid, would pick and choose when it would give notifications, or let me view a site. I am on a work/Dating trip and let’s just say I’ve not met up with a single soul because i can’t message them. And I’ve looked like i don’t take my business dealings very seriously, because i never got email notifications from my colleagues, who i normally have as VIPs and receive notification of their messages immediately, and reply in the same manner. I’ve spent most of today driving all over this vapid town trying to TCB. And get back to 2024.
Ohhhh yes. Also I couldn’t get data whilst driving, for some reason and got lost around LAX/Inglewood. That was fun. Thank goodness for all those Prince concerts I saw, when he was trying to help save the Forum. And I found my way eventually.
Lookin for a Better bet? Take an old phone, (mine an iPhone 7 from the UK bought in 2017) go to T-Mob and get a data only plan and there’s your HotBox.
I would also like to add I went to “Best”Buy at 10 am and there were maybe 3-4 customers? I had to hail someone down and he knew the basic spiel but not much else. More knowledge would’ve helped my agita.
I gave 1 star for value because you could get a whole phone for $49.95 this thing just tells you how much money you’ve spent? Wasted?
2.5 stars on quality. I mean 3 buttons? I couldn’t even choose 5G WiFi. But I think if I threw it across the room in frustration only the battery cover might shatter
1 for ease of use. I could just be a troglodyte, but if it only gives me what I need, part of the time, it might as well be my ex husband. DIVORCE!!

This was one of my better purchases in a while. I never had a mobile hot spot and now working from home and on the road this no contract mobile hot spot is a blessing!
I had no issues setting this up! Follow the instructions step by step. Make sure you have a computer in front of you. Simple as 1-2-3 and it’s up and running.
Service is great is city or suburb areas but as soon as your in a mountainous or farmland area you do begin to experience low service or no service at all BUT as will your cell phone so it’s really not the products fault.
I highly recommend this option before you spend an arm and a leg to upgrade your phone plan and get locked in for 2 years at a ridiculous price!

Simple to use but one problem was that it does not hold a charge for very long if not connected to a power supply. It did provide WiFi hotspot while driving from NY to the Carolinas. Had issue with gps and Moxee at times working together.

Love this hotspot so far. Gets great coverage, was very easy to set up and it's even easier to use. The only drag is that I can't buy the data plans with Best Buy gift cards but that goes for all prepaid plans at Best Buy and other big box Electronics Stores. So it's not an issue with this Moxxee Hotspot by Simple Mobile. I take this thing camping with me or use it when I'm streaming Netflix or Hulu but still want to use my main phone and bust out my back up phone and this little guy and viola, everything's good. Oh yeah, and it comes preloaded with a sim card. Yum.

Works as intended. Pretty fast speeds but susceptible to dead zones easily throttling the maximum. So it’s great if you’re within tower range, but frustrating if you slip out of coverage.

Excellent! Actual product is just as good as any 300 to 500 unit. The service plan is more than competitive, almost laughable. And….Finally, the customer service and website design/ ease of use and connecting with actual human beings is the icing on the cake. There is absolutely no reason to pay way more through your current provider…. none

They worked perfectly and they are very small and compact so they can fit even it ur pants pockets. They require very little signal to work great. Definitely worth the money buying this and the plan it gives you a variety of options

We purchased this hotspot To run a security camera in a hotel room while we were on vacation with our dog. It did a great job.
Initially we were not sure how much data we would need so we bought 40 gigs for $50. Unfortunately, we ended up losing about 75% of that data when the plan expired. Because it’s prepaid you lose what you don’t use other than that it’s a great little little hotspot.

I purchased this for travel on a train and it came in handy. I did use it for watching Netflix, but not live tv. It buffered a lot so I just used to listen to music or Netflix.

Works way better than i thought it would. Was in a hotel with internet completely out for 2 weeks and this thing came in very handy for gaming with my x box and streaming. Just follow the instructions and read carefully or you will end up on the phone with customer service. You can’t set up your VPN over an iPhone so you have to use a windows device. I set mine up easily through internet explorer on the x box console since i had no laptop available.

I regret the purchase.
I’ve been going back and forth with simple mobile ever since i purchased it.
I also lost 20$ worth of data plan as simple mobile wouldn’t let me link it to my account as they claim they can’t verify my identity. And don’t even get me started on their customer service.
The device itself is straightforward on how to use, the problem is simple mobile themselves.
It’s been useless ever since I purchased it.

Unhappy with the company was unable to make the prepaid card work with the hotspot I had to exchange the device three times and it still wouldn't take it and then they refunded my Hotspot but would not refund the prepaid card that I bought for the hotspot that they could not connect and simple mobile where is no help at all so I actually lost 50 bucks throughout this whole process and time invested was wasted
