Immediately upon opening the packaging for these wireless earbuds, I am very impressed by the packaging and the contents! Included is a very unique USB micro charging cable that is not the traditional full USB-A plug but is just the necessary, thin slotted portion to stick into a USB-A port and charge these air buds. This cable is likely not capable of data transfer (unnecessary for these earbuds), it is just purely for charging. The packaging includes additional ear tips, some instructions, and a little lanyard to make it so you can clip the case to some keys or makes it easier to fish out of your pockets or purse if it gets buried deep in there. The instructions very specifically stated to charge the case and earbuds first before use. I decided to follow these instructions, but thankfully had the foresight to open the case and examine the earbuds first. The charge conductors on the earbuds were covered with a white peel off sticker that likely would have prevented them from charging in the case. Good for protection during shipment, but could cause confusion to some users if that is not pointed out. I removed the stickers, put them back in the case, and started it charging. The case itself is built nicely for this price! I like the unique design of how the stalks of the earbuds are exposed while the slotted case drops over it. Could it cause additional wear and tear? Sure. But at this price I find it artistic and unique. Additionally, the case has the earbuds oriented in such a way that the earbuds can’t be confused or misplaced inside. The case appears to have a light spring that does help to shut the case with some snappiness, but the case is not kept shut by the magnets higher end wireless earbud cases use, but some plastic snap tabs that in likelihood will eventually wear out. At this price though, this is hardly a concern as these are well valued! The earbuds themselves seem to be built quite nicely at this price! I am happy with the size as they come out smaller than original airpods and are smaller than the LG FP9’s an Apple Airpod Pros. The case is smaller than an airpod pro case as well. Altogether, nice build and size for the price here. Not the oversized airpod copycats that some overseas designed and built earpods have ended up being. Now why you came to this review, the sound. The sound puts to shame earpods I have used that are three or even five times the price of these! These have no right to sound as good as they do for the price. At 80% volume on some of my favorite test songs like Bullseye by KDrew, I found the high’s to be crisp, but perhaps a bit staticy, the mids to be full and present, and the bass to be surprisingly full and defined without any annoying garbling or humming at that volume. I was actually rocking out to the song with these earbuds! Podcasts and audiobooks sound great through it too. These earbuds do not actively noise cancel, but are noise isolated pretty well with a good fit of the eartips in your ear canal. The one’s that came on the Dime 2’s out of the case fit me perfectly. The downside of these earbuds, that the price reflects and is fair in consideration, is the battery life. It is short. These won’t last as long as higher-end competitors higher priced offerings. On earbuds this inexpensive though, I am not upset by the battery life I am getting, which has been about three hours of continuous listening at 75% volume on one charge of the earbuds. Unlike the previous Dime earbuds from skullcandy, these Dime 2’s do have a standby mode which helps them to conserve battery life when they are out of your ears and have your audio paused. The support for tile tracking on these earbuds is something I find to be very impressive. For as inexpensive as these earbuds are, having this feature is a welcome addition that might encourage parents who have kids begging them for airpods to first supply them with these as a “trial run” to see how responsible the kiddos can be with keeping and taking care of these earbuds. Also, happily present here are some basic controls on the stalks for controlling your music, answering calls, etc. Altogether, what Skullcandy has done with update are make some fantastically well priced, well-featured earbuds that most anyone can afford on even a modest budget! Thanks for reading and hope this helps guide your purchase!

THE BREAKDOWN: The packaging and contents of these earbuds was amazing. The items included were the wireless earbuds, charging case, ear tips (S, M, L) a micro-USB charging cable, a little lanyard, and the user guide. The lanyard makes it easy to fish out of your pocket or if you are a runner and have a belt you can clip it to lanyard, so your case doesn’t accidentally fall out of your belt. There is also rubber on the outside of the earbuds that also come outside of the case. I found this feature to be extremely useful when is set the case on my leg or on the desk, it keeps it from sliding off. To get started you need to charge your earbuds fully. Take note that you must remove the little white plastic pieces on the charging part of the earbuds themselves. It took me hours before I realized they were not charging. The sound quality is the best or perfect, but it is darn good, especially at this price point. The bass could sometimes sound a little off but overall, the sound was amazing for this price point. I felt like I had them turned up to the loudest setting and it didn’t become where I could not understand the words or music. The only downside to earbuds for me would be the battery life and I think that is reflection on the size and price point. I was averaging about three hours at 75-80% volume. The fit and comfort of these earbuds were excellent and would put them against my $200 earbuds as far as comfort goes. PRO’s: - Wireless/Bluetooth (no wires) works great - Built in microphone - Water Resistant - Find your buds, built in tile finding technology CON’s: - Battery life - no app controls SUMMARY: Overall, this product worked as intended, and I would recommend this to a friend if they were in the market for item like this.

Great Entry Level True Wireless Earbuds

The Skullcandy Dime 2 is my first experience with using true wireless earbuds so I don’t have anything to compare them to. The package came with two wireless earbuds, a compact charging case, a USB charging cable, 4 extra silicon pads (of different sizes), a little carry strap, and a user guide. After charging the earbuds overnight, I took them out of the case and easily paired them with my phone. I like how they automatically power-on and power-off when you take them out of the case and when you put them back into the case. The earbuds fit comfortably and securely in my ear. I never felt like they were going to fall out. Each earbud contains a single button and pressing the buttons while the earbuds were in my ears didn’t feel uncomfortable. I thought the quality was very good. The highs and mids were crisp and clear and the overall sound seemed well balanced. I experimented with different genres of music and I thought movie soundtracks sounded exceptionally good with the earbuds. However, I did find the bass to be a little lacking but maybe I had unrealistic expectations for such tiny earbuds. I wasn’t able to test the call quality with the earbuds but I did make voice recordings while I was inside a noisy casino and my voice seemed clear but maybe a little lower than what I would have liked. I noticed that as soon as I spoke, the background noise was greatly diminished so it seems like it has some sort of active noise cancellation. One cool thing about these earbuds is that they have Tile support. I initially couldn’t get them paired with my Tile App (after trying multiple times on my first day with the earbuds) but I was finally able to connect them to Tile just before writing this review. Since I am new to wireless earbuds, I found the controls to be slightly confusing and I had to consult the manual a few times before getting the basic controls straight. I still haven’t been able to activate my phone’s voice assistant when I pressed the button 3 times. I can’t figure out how to get it to work. I was hoping I could use a voice assistant to control my music while I drove to work. Overall I think the Skullcandy Dime 2 is a great entry level true wireless earbuds. It feels comfortable and secure in my ears while providing great sound at a nice budget price.

The newer Bluetooth 5.2 allows the buds to have a solid connection with minimal audio compression and no noticeable lag. I like that it comes included in the Tile support (Find with Tile), which allows you to locate the earbuds. The casing has a lanyard which I attach to my keys for easy transport, and I can use the Tile features in the buds to locate my keys if they ever get lost. The usual small, medium, and large silicone ear tips are included. The buds are waterproof IPX4, which is fine for rain and any heavy sweating but not to be submerged in water. The 4.5-inch charging cable uses a micro USB to connect to the casing and a regular USB to the charger (not included). Battery life in the buds (3.5 hrs) is suitable for most users, and in its casing, battery life is good for a week or two (8.2 hrs charge). Usually, I'm not a big fan of in-ear headphones, but I find these are comfortable to wear, and they don't easily fall off. A design of these buds is that they go into a standby mode where it will not drain the batteries if not in the case or not being used. The buttons are physical push control (not touch), which is sometimes I have to push them into my ears. The controls are easy to use and give you control over everything (play, pause, skip, forward, and volume control). For a phone call, the sound and mic are acceptable. Sound handles many types of music with ease, and you do feel the bass (a little boomy). The trebles aren't harsh, and the mid sounds are good. Overall, Dime 2 has all the characteristics of good in-ear buds, and it comes with Bluetooth 5.2, "Find with Tile," attaches to a keychain, and is waterproof.

I received the Dime 2 headphones and was hoping for more. Their size and fit are very good. You are provided with different ear tips to fit different size ears, a USB charging plug, basic instructions and a hard-shell carrying case. The carrying case that also charges them on the run is very helpful and also protects them when not in use. There are button on each earphone that allow you to answer calls, skip forwards and back on songs and change the volume. This is a plus on a entry level pair of earphones. But the downfall for me was the sound. The sound quality for what you pay for is tinny and lacking bass. I tried to change the tone of the sound but couldn't quite get it to a point that it sounded good to me. My concern is ear fatigue from the excessive highs. For inexpensive in ear headphones these make a good second pair or back up to keep in your backpack as a spare. My recommendation is to have these as a spare of backup set, not as a pair you will rely on for everyday use.

Long Lasting Candy For Your Ears

True wireless earbuds are one of my favorite tech items, especially working in maintenance where I have several hours daily when I am working alone. Skully Candy has been one of my favorite audio manufacturers as well so I was over the moon to get to try the Skull Candy Dime 2 True Wireless earbuds. In the box you get your standard instructions/setup paper, different sizes of rubber fittings to keep the buds in your ear, a charging cable (USB-A to Micro USB), a charging case with earbuds inside, and a tiny rope loop to attach to your case if you choose. Simple, short, and sweet….you get what you need and that’s all. I found the small case to be perfect for my pocket but not too small where I’d worry about it sliding out without my knowledge when I sat down (its happened before). The default rubber worked perfect for me so right out of the box they were in my ear and ready to pair. Like other wireless tech gadgets these days you’ll need to familiarize yourself with the single button presses to control your earbuds but its nothing you haven’t seen before with single press to pause and double presses to skip. Gonna throw out a small nit I have to pick since it was part of my experience but probably not many others: you MUST utilize both left and right buds buttons to fully control the skipping and other features. At work I use one earbud to hear my music or podcast and the other I leave out so I can hear my radio calls from warehouse personnel for work. Meaning, I have to control my audio via my phone since I can’t skip backward without using both the left and right buds. No big deal but I feel its worth mentioning. All in all these are great buds. The volume is plenty loud enough that I actually turned it down a bit as I was hearing it too much over the warehouse noise I work in. At home I turn it way down as I don’t need the full power of the speakers inside these bad boys. Charge has lasted me three work days, so that’s gotta be around ten hours and nothing has told me its time to charge up yet. They’re advertised on the Skull Candy website as having a 12 hour battery life but not sure if that’s PER CHARGE or total charge in the carrying case so you may get more or less but I think 10 hours is plenty for most uses. In short, I highly recommend them! They’re comfortable, attractive, and work amazingly well especially in an industrial workplace where noise from conveyor lines and machinery is constant. For your typical street use on the bus or at school/office you’ll have more than you need coming out of the buds even at half to three-quarter volume. Battery is amazing too so you won’t have any issue keeping your ears busy while you do whatever. Skull Candy is still the reigning champion of audio in my book!

The Skullcandy Dime 2 True Wireless In-Ear Headphones are a solid choice for anyone in the market for affordable earbuds. The design is sleek and minimalistic, with a small and discreet form factor that won't attract too much attention. The sound quality is decent, with a good balance between bass and treble, although it's not exactly on par with more high-end models. One of the standout features of these headphones is the battery life, which can last up to 12 hours with the included charging case. This is particularly impressive for earbuds at this price point. The fit is also comfortable and secure, thanks to the included ear tips in different sizes. Overall, the Skullcandy Dime 2 True Wireless In-Ear Headphones are a great value for anyone looking for an affordable pair of earbuds with decent sound quality and excellent battery life. They may not be the best on the market, but for the price, they are definitely worth considering.

So I think it deserves 5 stars for the price but the battery goes out quicker in the right one than the left one. And battery life is definitely shorter on these so I didn't give 5 stars but overall great great great!!! Can be a little uncomfortable as well so I'd say try spending a bit more on a pair!!!

These are great little headphones. They're small, lightweight, comfortable in the ear, and extremely portable. I had one little issue when I first got these. They were shipped with little plastic stickers over the charging contacts. I plugged these in to charge overnight, but the plastic stickers prevented them from charging. The sound quality isn't perfect. I found that these earbuds had a little too much bass, and the sound was somewhat "muddy" compared to other earbuds that I've used. These aren't marketed as studio headphones though, and the sound was certainly adequate for listening to music and watching videos. The earbuds paired with my windows laptop without any issues whatsoever. I was pleasantly surprised that the controls (play, pause, and skip track) all worked fine on Windows as well as Android. The case doesn't hold a charge, so you'll need to plug these (and the case) in to recharge them when they run out of juice. The charger that they came with is rather curious. It's a short USB type A to micro USB connector. The USB type A end has exposed contacts, so it can be plugged in either direction. I found it a little strange that they didn't use USB type C for the opposite side. I'm quite pleased with these earbuds and would recommend them for anyone looking for a budget, wireless solution.

As a kid id get their 10$ wired earbuds and they sounded amazing, saw these at the store and knew it would be a good purchase. I was right! Great price and they sound pretty good… especially for 25$. Only major downside is i only get about 3 hours on the left ear pod at medium - high volume, but i just swap out the left for the right and it charges right up.

Upon first inspection and opening the package I was please with the size of the Dime 2, it's very compact and light carry, even coming with a lanyard to attach them to keys. The sound quality of the Dime 2 are very hit-and-miss between content, I find voices to be very dull in the high range and feeling a little tunneling. Music quality is okay, they're by all means no where as good as I expected. I've had competing product from the same brand sound a lot better for a few bucks less. The comfort of wearing them are less desired specialty at the gym, using the correct rubber earpiece, and adjusting the earpieces to fit properly still served useless, they seem to fall out of the ears with ease and tend to get really sore with the bulky plastic pressing against the ear. Lastly, the battery life is very soft. Avg, around 2 hours of usage. And the case dying very quickly so overall I see about 4-8 hours total of usage on one charge of the case.

Working in a warehouse, having reliable audio gear is a game-changer, and the Skullcandy Dime 2 wireless in-ear headphones have proven to be an indispensable asset to my daily routine. The sound quality is good, providing clarity and balance even in the midst of bustling warehouse activity. These headphones deliver consistent and clear audio. Bluetooth pairing is quick, and the stable connection allows me to move freely without worrying about signal interruptions. The automatic connection when taken out of the charging case streamlines the process, ensuring they're ready to use whenever needed. With various ear tip sizes, they offer a secure fit, even during long shifts. The snug fit helps to minimize external noise, allowing me to stay focused on tasks at hand. The battery life is around 3 hours and the case has about 12 hours of charging power. Could last a full work shift with the portable charging case provides additional convenience when a quick power boost is needed. The Dime 2 headphones are a reliable and durable audio solution for the demanding environment of a warehouse. Priced affordably under $30, they provide a cost-effective option without compromising on performance. Highly recommended for those seeking a dependable audio companion to enhance their productivity. These are great for the price.
