I purchased this for my 13 year-old daughter to protect her mini iPad. She loves the color, comments on how light weight it is compared to her friends' case, but she doesn't keep her mini iPad in it. She, as well as my son who has a full sized Smart Cover still prefer to hold a "naked" iPad. Asked why, she responds "I don't know"...

I had one before and it was starting to tear away from the attaching mechanism. So I bought another one. the off brand products do not work as well as this one.

Purchased this for my daughter's iPad mini, works really well to cover the screen and automatically turns the device on and off. Does not add thickness to the device, has a very clean feel to it. It connects and aligns automatically to the left edge, has a magnetic attachment that works well. Wish there was a little more protection for the device, but then it would not feel so sleek. I do recommend it though!

The cover is high quality and looks great. It is really nice that shutting it locks the iPad. It is held on by magnets which works great unless your rough on the iPad. It works well as a stand, but a few more adjustment options would be nice. The cover doesn't protect anywhere but the screen. All said and done, this is a nice case, if you don't need a ton of scratch protection.

Good for auto-off, light screen protection, and prop stand. Not for drop damage, etc.

It's an excellent cover that protects the screen stands the iPad up and is an excellent grip enhancing item.

iPad mini 3 Smart Cover is good because it protects and keeps dust off the front but does not protect the back. Overall another good Apple product.

I decided to see if this would fit with the clear back case covering and it does. Love both and keeps my mini protected.

The cover is awesome it's compact and foes not add much weight to the iPad. The color is very bright and looks great.

It does what it says it does. Fits excellent. Easy to put on.

Like to put it on if jumping up to take a few pic's otherwise don't have anything on it inside the house.

This cover moonlights as a stand, providing you don't push it too hard. As a cover it functions fairly well, it stays put in most situations including inside a bag. It's capabilities as a stand does detract from the rating. I've knocked it over/down quite a few times by anything from light to medium touches/swipes. I've heard the case stands better.

Great fitting cover for iPad. Easy to open and can be used as a stand.

Good product but wouldn't recommend it for young users. Because it's magnetic it easily comes off and was frustrating for my 4 year old.

This smart cover for my i-pad mini is a very "smart" addition to my i-pad. I am considering upgrading to a full cover at some point.

The Smart Cover does what it's supposed to and does it well. It attaches with a relatively strong magnet and turns my ipad on/off when opened and closed. It's not for overall crash protection so don't count on it protecting your ipad when kids are using it. My mini is used primarily at work so this isn't an issue for me. Deducting 1 star for the price.

All in all, the cover serves its purpose. It protects the screen and serves to put the iPad in sleep mode. The smart cover also folds to make a somewhat convenient stand for the iPad to allow for more convenient viewing .
