This is EXACTLY what I needed! I sold off all my expensive leather totes after I stopped working in a corporate job. I had some Best Buy Rewards that had to be used up before expiring. Found this item at a great price point under the Black Friday sales. Being the only thing I could think of that I actually needed, that would be relatively cheap to purchase... I figured I wouldn't be out much if it wasn't exactly what I was looking for. I'm kind of a snob when it comes to travel totes/bags of any kind, and usually can be pretty picky. I was pleasantly surprised how nice & strong the fabric is, how strong the zippers are, and how well the design & construction of the bag really is! It’s just absolutely FANTASTIC and a fully functional laptop tote! It could easily be used for either corporate or casual use, and does not have a cheap appearance at all. I’ve had Solo products in the past, and they are always made with quality… and this one is no different… I’m very happy with it! Just to give you an idea of how roomy this smaller laptop bag is: I can fit my 13” MacBook Pro (up to 15.6" laptops), my iPad Air, Apple Wireless Keyboard, Magic Mouse, External DVD Player, Mophie XL battery pack, eyeglass case, a few cables, and still have enough room for a couple more small items if needed! Keep in mind that all my peripherals have cases as well. There is also some decent padded pockets inside to protect those devices you’re traveling with. I LOVE that there’s a separate smaller pocket for a tablet, as well as the bigger main pocket for the laptop! You can also tuck away the backpack straps in a clean pocket on the back if you prefer to just use the shoulder strap. The shoulder strap is removable if you’d prefer to just use it like a briefcase with the handles. The snaps on the handles are magnetic, so those are super easy to use as well. Honestly I cannot find one thing to complain about with this bag… it really is a terrific design and the functionality is perfect! I feel I got this bag for a super low price because the quality is much higher than expected! I would highly recommend this bag if you’re looking for a nice looking & simple design, made with quality materials, and has plenty of storage. The weight of the bag is very lightweight as well! You can't go wrong with this one because it sells itself!

I love this bag, it allows so much versatility. You can use it as a shoulder bag or a back pack, but you don't have to keep all the straps exposed when using one or the other. There are many pockets and organizers within the pockets, so there is a place for everything you need. I have a 15.3" lap top that sizes more like a 17" lap top, and finding a bag that fit it was not an easy feat. This bag fits it perfectly, while still having space in the bag for 2 more notebooks, 3 books for casual reading, and my tablet with it's keyboard case. That's just for the main compartment. I also fit about 20 pens in the small pouch, my lap top charger, a mouse, a mouse pad and my tablet chargers in the other pockets. With all that in it, it's a little heavy, but the bag itself is super light weight and easy to take with you anywhere you need to go. The lines are also super professional looking, something I would take to any meeting I have despite not being leather. Very clean lines and stitching, and a subtle checker like pin striping.

Better than I expected, very roomy with just enough pockets. I use this for work mostly and it stores my laptop and charger, phone, notebook, external hard drive, along with some other odds and ends. For some reason the bag seems lighter than my old one with the exact same items. It appears well made, but it is too soon to know how well it holds up. My laptop is 15.6, it looks like it could accommodate a slightly bigger one, but I would not bet money on it.

A very versatile bag for school or work. An employee helped me decide on picking this one and i’ve been satirized with it, build quality can feel a little tacky but it’s just the lining for the front pockets. Still very cushiony inside to protect a laptop up to 16”, so it’s very roomy.

After having to upgrade to new 15.6" laptop for work, I discovered that I needed a new laptop bag to accommodate this larger computer. But because I wanted more of an attache/briefcase type of bag as opposed to the typical techie backpack computer bag commonly available, I felt that I was out of luck in finding a laptop attache that I could transport both my paper files and my laptop in while not looking like I was still in school. I have been a user of the Solo brand of computer bags for years, so finding this bag at Best Buy with the mature, i.e., business appropriate design and style was quite fortuitous. While the loading capacity of this bag is limited as far as packing papers, tablet, and laptop with accessories goes, this bag is more that able to carry a reasonable sized load. I can easily load my work laptop, two reasonably sized legal sized file folders and the charging brick for my laptop in this bag with no problems. Let's face facts, the bulk of your work product is going to be on your laptop anyway, so needing to have the capacity to carry a huge number of physical documents is not a priority. That having been said, I would refrain from carrying in this bag both your tablet and laptop with a substantial number of physical documents ( for example two or more books or really massive amounts of paper files) in order to avoid risking damage to the screens of your electronics. I have been able to use one of the exterior pockets to store my 8" Verizon Ellipsis tablet in its Zagg bluetooth keyboard case while carrying my 7" Samsung Barnes and Noble Nook eReader inside the designated slot on the inside of this bag and a reasonable amount of physical documents. Obviously when transporting my laptop I leave the Ellipsis at the office and place the eReader in the aforementioned exterior pocket. While this bag does not claim to be waterproof, it is durable and because it can be converted to a backpack, I have found it to be perfect for use when traveling by rail or air. Best of all, the sleek lines and minimalist exterior of this bag whisper "cool" as opposed to shouting "student/techie" when you walk into a business meeting. When carrying your laptop computer in this bag I recommend that you use a neoprene laptop sleeve for additional protection as the bag lacks a significant amount of padding inside and outside to protect against a dropped bag. I find this bag to be both stylish yet functional. Hip looking but with a measure of maturity thrown in.

Good quality bag and plenty of space. I have two rugged dell laptops in the bag, along with a charger in the front, and misc items. Over the shoulder is a welcomed option though I'll be carrying it like a briefcase most of the time. I only checked this bag out of interest in the backpack/briefcase swap feature, but it ended up being the best bag applicable to my use case, where I need to carry two laptops, which means I need both to have some padding around them. Luckily, it was the most affordable one on the shelf too.

I have had this briefcase for three years now. I take it to work several times per week. It has not frayed or started coming apart like many cheap items do. I use it on airplanes, and it fits nicely under the seat. I have attached photos of what it looks like after three years.

Just took my first airline trip with my new "Solo Urban Convertible Laptop Briefcase Backpack". I really like the way that I can use it as a backpack when I'm carrying other items or I can use the handle to carry it like a briefcase. It also comes with a very nice (removable) shoulder strap for complete versatility. The inside is very well padded and includes an extra inside pocket for a tablet. The outside has 3 zippered pockets for carrying items. Inside the larger zippered section are 3 slots for credit cards, a pocket for a cell phone and two areas for pens or pencils. One major bonus is how thin the bag is and how it easily slid under the aircraft seat in front of me. I particularly like the overall appearance of the laptop bag and the way it can transition into a very stylish briefcase for meetings, etc. The backpack shoulder straps tuck into a hidden compartment and the bag becomes very stream lined. Craftsmanship is excellent and it is very well made. I highly recommend it for students or professionals.

This stylish and versatile bag has it all! I ditched the briefcase and now I only carry this bag. It has room for my iPad, pens, medication and folders. I even was able to fit my new ROG Ally X with its premium case inside my bag along with an iPad Pro 13 in. It also features three different carrying methods as well!

This is a great case! Nice size, can be backpack style or briefcase style. Good padding for a soft case, lots of pockets. My spouse liked it so much that we got one for him too.

Great case, using it with a small 14 inch laptop and works well even with the small size of the laptop. Love all the extra pockets and have plenty of space for my wireless keyboard, mouse, mouse pad and keyboard wrist pad and laptop power supply. All have their own space in this very versatile bag! Can't go wrong with all the carry options too, briefcase, cross body and bookbag carry capabilities all in one. Great laptop bag all around!

The laptop/backpack bag is very compact and if you choose it as a bag, the straps simply slide in a special zipper "pouch"without having to remove the straps. Pretty cool design. Lightweight and practical.

I had a Herschel backpack but it was way too bulky and didnt have nearly as many pockets or nooks as this bag does. This bag is also super versatile, as it can go from messenger bag to backpack to briefcase in seconds. Love this thing.

Excellent case for my Dell 16" laptop. Versatile, lightweight and attractive. Roomy storage for cord, brick, mouse, and other accessories.

This is a great, versatile bag. Big enough for a large laptop and a Kindle/tablet plus some either items without feeling too crammed. The two side pockets work great for miscellaneous items, chargers, pens keys, etc. If you wish, there are loops in various positions where you can clip a few harbingers. Another nice feature is that you can switch carrying modes. There's an included shoulder strap and concealed backpack straps. The material is also a plus. Feels soft, but you can tell it's durable.
