Customer Ratings & Reviews

The Sonos Ray Soundbar is a compact soundbar that delivers clear dialogue and balanced sound, making it a big upgrade from built-in TV speakers. It’s easy to set up, works with Wi-Fi streaming services like AirPlay and Spotify, and fits well in small spaces. While the sound quality is impressive for its size, it lacks deeper bass, HDMI connectivity, and Dolby Atmos, so it’s better suited for smaller rooms or casual TV watching rather than a full home-theater experience.

We are so happy with our TV. It was very easy to set up and we are not tech savvy at all. Picture and sound is great. Ver happy customers

I know now what these gamers have been raving about and so do my neighbors. I don’t even have the two surround speakers in the back, but you know how some people are… I’ll end up dropping the bread on them. This surround sound…. Goodness gracious…. The sound quality, the Autotune, the bass, etc… I can’t stop talking about it and I’ve told all my friends. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A SONOS SYSTEM…. You are missing out. I’ll never go bank to another system again. Thank you so much for the product. You guys are “DA REAL MVP’s!!!”

The Sonos Ray's design is minimalist and elegant. With its compact dimensions , it fits easily into most spaces without taking up too much space. Audio performance is where the Sonos Ray stands out in its category. Although it's smaller than the brand's other sound bars, it delivers surprisingly clear and powerful sound, especially in the mid and high frequencies. Its tweeter and woofer technology delivers an immersive experience that significantly improves the sound of any TV. The Sonos Ray is an excellent option for those looking to improve their TV's sound without breaking the bank. With a more affordable price than the brand's other premium sound bars, it's an excellent entry-level option for those looking for quality without compromising space or budget. I purchased it openbox and received it in excellent condition, with no issues.

Overall, this thing is better than I was expecting. It is a bit of a pain to set up. Even for a relatively tech savvy person like myself. But if you can be patient and figure out the work arounds for it, it’s amazing for the price and purpose its intended it for. The app for Sonos has always been a little clunky. I have 8 other Sonos speakers in my house. So I’m used to it. The optical only option is strange so it can cause some issues if you don’t have an IR remote. My tv I was trying to get it to work with had an RF remote so I had to program my tv to get the remote to adjust volume. The remote linking feature in the Sonos app did not work because I had a RF remote, It can be done though. It just takes some digging around in your TVs settings. Once we got past that though, the sound. Amazingly big for a soundbar of this size, I bought a small tv for my odd shaped downstairs living room and wanted something in the Sonos ecosystem to pair with it. I have the beam and the arc with the sub and I have to say this thing is pretty stellar on its own. I considered buying the sub mini for it but I have decided it’s just fine on it’s own. Plenty of bass (not home theatre level or anything) and for the space it’s in I couldn’t be happier with the sounds it’s putting out. Looks can be deceiving.

Purchased the Sonos Ray Soundbar as it was the only soundbar which had the perfect dimensions to fit inside a shelf. WOW!! The sound out of this speaker is outstanding, and for a price less than $250. Sonos....you exceeded all my expectations. Who knew a soundbar in this compact package could deliver such great sound. Especially, at this price point. Added bonus, connecting the Sonos Ray to the Sonos mobile app provides more configuration and sound options. Unfortunately, my set-up was a challenge as I have an older Sonos 5 and is not backward compatible with the new Sonos App. My older Sonos App is not forward compatible with the Sonos Ray. I had to contact Sonos support, and they were able to help me diagnose what to do and how I would have to use the older app for the Sonos5 and the newer app when using the Sonos Ray. While not ideal, it works! If you're thinking about getting a sound bar and want something that's not cheap, but also not too expensive either. This one is just right for the money.

Went in looking for a basic soundbar and came home with this awesome soundbar that sounds great and is everything we wanted - all for $200! The salesperson that helped us was very helpful. Was easy to setup and has a very user friendly app. We love it and would highly recommend it!

This speaker is great. It’s so loud my friend got the larger Sonos speaker of this model and for me I want the rain because the price was a lot cheaper and it’s so loud. I can’t turn it all the way up in my apartment because it’s just that good of a speaker. The base is great. It’s very clear. It’s amazing. I use it on my TV that I watch anime on and man. It really brings whatever show I’m watching alive.

The Sonos Ray is simply a game-changer! If you're looking for a soundbar that effortlessly blends incredible sound with seamless connectivity, this is it. The audio quality is surprisingly rich and powerful for its compact size, filling my room with crystal-clear dialogue and deep, resonant bass. But what truly sets the Ray apart is how effortlessly it connects to everything. Forget about tangled wires and complicated setups – you can stream music directly from your phone or other devices via Wi-Fi or AirPlay 2, or connect it to your TV using the optical audio input. It supports a wide range of music services, and controlling it through the Sonos app is a breeze. Plus, it works seamlessly with other Sonos speakers, letting you build a whole-home audio system over time. The Sonos Ray isn't just a soundbar; it's a smart, connected audio hub that elevates your entire entertainment experience. Highly recommended!

This sound bar was the perfect addition to our outdoor covered patio tv. Though not officially meant for outside, we have this in a very well covered area plus cover both the bar and tv when not in use. Overall the sound quality is exactly what we needed. Only downside is not having hdmi built in so we have to use the app to control the audio as it doesn’t work with the tv we have outside, hindsight I should have bought a Samsung for the outdoor area as I know that brand works with the optical cable natively.

The Sonos Ray Soundbar is a big surprise. I've always used Bose, however, after discussing whether to buy Bose or Sonos the Best Buy Agent explained how Sonos is a big step up. He was correct!! The soundbar is great for my office. The sound is richer and clearer than the Bose Soundbar (I still have four of them). I don't have to turn it up as loud and the app is easy to use and plays all my music as well as tv sound. I highly recommend it!

This sound bar paired with the subwoofer chef kiss. The sound is so clear. I want to keep my tv on all day lol..it was so easy to set up..i haven't had any problems

The best electronic equipment I’ve bought in a long time! One plug - that’s it. No mess of extra wires. I am not a tech person at all. The installation was very simple. Downloading the app and hooking this up. I found very easy. The sound is remarkable! This also has extra units that you can build onto the main unit. Multiple and unlimited possibilities. A must have!

I believe the Sonos read is the great addition to the Sonos ecosystem only downside being the fact that they cheap out on the HDMI arc for some reason it only has optical, which is an outdated technology realistically still works great but the quality is going to be dampened and you cannot control it with your TV remote. You will have to control it all via the Sonos app, although I have no problem doing it and it’s definitely going to be kept still really unfortunate why they would decide To do that instead of a HDMI even if it was a $30 difference to put that in I would’ve paid more happily.

Awesome soundbar ! Great sound quality and clarity. Nice bass and tones. Love the fact you can wirelessly connect multiple speakers and despite being in seperate rooms. Its been months and enjoy it so much I went and bought a second for myself and one for my mom.

The base on this Sonos sound system is great. Is sounds great when playing on the T.V and your phone.

I wanted a relatively inexpensive soundbar for my upstairs TV in my extra bedroom. I already owned a Sonos product the arrow 100 that I have in my master bath which has amazing sound. I didn't think Sonos had a sound bar that was in my price range until I saw the Sonos ray. it's only $200 when most of their stuff is $500 or over for sound bars. I will take a Wi-Fi connection for soundbar over Bluetooth any day. there's a lot less compression much more bandwidth the audio and bass is much fuller. as usual Sonos never disappoints. the sound is excellent.

I saw some reviews complaining about the “NO HDMI” or “REMOTE” / “VOLUME CONTROL”. If you set it up like the directions say then youll be fine, it uses your TV remote to control the volume you just need any smart tv. Aside from that SONOS is definitely top of the line for quality and sound. The optical connection instead of HDMI is just as great. 10/10 recommend. Im a retuning sonos customer. Ive had the ARC and now the RAY. I love them both

The Sonos ray is in my opinion the best, budget based soundbar. The sound quality improvement from the tv speakers is amazing, coupled with the voice enhancement features it is a great purchase. The only down side is the ray does not have EARC or HDMI inputs so you have to either use a IR tv remote or the app. The couple months I’be owned this it has not been a problem.

Love it the sound is amazing easy to set up and it looks good
