Customers are saying

Customers value the impressive sound quality, ease of use, and strong bass of the Outdoor Speaker Streaming Audio Bundle with xPress Audio Keypad. Many appreciate the system's weather resistance and ease of setup, although some find the price point high and the wired nature of the speakers a drawback. The sleek design also receives positive feedback. Concerns were raised regarding the power output and the need for a separate, non-weatherproof amplifier.

Sonos & Sonace Rules & Rocks Hard!!!

The Sonos speaker system arrived a day late; nonetheless, it looked great! As some of my fellow reviewers have stated, it’s a huge “all in one” box that houses speakers, amp, keypad and accessories such as brackets and nails. After unboxing and finding a nice unit, here is what I discovered: Setup: Setup for me was “tricky” in so much that I have never dealt with wires; therefore, I requested my neighbor who has an electronics background for assistance. I will state, I was a good student as I watched what was a seamless process. I will quickly note, I elected to put this unit in-door which has worked out thus far. Back to setup, firstly, I downloaded the Sonos app from Apple’s app store since the keypad only works with IOS, I used my Ipad Air for this process. Seemingly, everything went well; however, after conclusion of the setup process, I could not hear any music coming from the amp. After, re-checking my steps, still “no music” was heard! Therefore, I went back to the drawing board and since I am an avid Android cell phone user, I downloaded the app from the Android store which was a seamless process because I was already a registered user; therefore, everything synced up and I was in business with AWESOME sound coming from the amp!! Shortly afterwards, I went back to my iPad and uninstalled the Sonos app and then reinstalled in which I got everything working properly! After reassessing, what I did incorrectly, the only thing I may have missed was the selection of the Amp during setup while on IOS. Lastly, I downloaded the app for the keypad in which the first two tries were unsuccessful; however, the third try was the charm as the firmware needed an update which didn’t take long. The keypad works well and it’s very useful as it controls sound seamlessly. Sound: The sound produced from the speakers is wonderful! The sound is just pure without any scratching and/or distortion. The bass is good. While I am not an audiophile, I do know and appreciate good sound quality which comes from these amazing sounding speakers! During setup, I added Pandora, Audible, Amazon Music and Calm Radio which has some amazing jazz music along with other genres. I elected to listen to “smooth jazz” and man it sounds great as only jazz produces a language, sometimes intimate, boisterous, but always layered with immense sound experiences. Notes: If by chance you don’t have an iPhone and/or iPad, you can still download the Sonos app from the Android store and control your music via that channel. Unfortunately, the keypad only works with IOS (Apple) for now; however, I am hopeful after Sonos’s reps read these reviews, they’ll add access for Android devices to their keypad. I personally see usage of both apps for dual purposes in so much, if I don’t want to turn on my iPad for music control, I can just use my phone to access/control my music. Recommendation: Yes, I recommend this audio streaming bundle if you’re wanting a great sounding outdoor as well as indoor experience. It’s great for summer outdoor entertainment as well as indoor entertainment.

The Sonos & Sonance - Outdoor Speaker Streaming Audio Bundle is pretty awesome. Really easy to set up and simple to control from a mobile device or provided remote. The one gripe is that you have to obtain your own speaker wire since there is none included. The sound quality is amazing. I stream music from my phone and connect the RCA audio ports to my blu-ray player when entertaining in the yard and it's perfect. The design is nice. Speaker cases are durable and the weather resistant structure is awesome. This is my first Sonos device, but it will certainly not be my last. I am looking for other Sonos devices that I can pair with this one for an even more dynamic experience. The Sonos & Sonance - Outdoor Speaker Streaming Audio Bundle is great for anyone that wants a versatile device that offers high quality sound for an outdoor area.

The outdoor speaker bundle came with the Sonos Connect Amp, two Sonance Speakers and a xPress Keypad. The instructions were simple - just connect the speakers to the amp unit with speaker wire (not included), plug in the amp, then download the app. The most difficult part is determining where to place the speakers and then running the wires. The entire system is extremely well built, and the speakers are waterproof. They have a very modern design and look great. The Connect Amp can be run on Wi-Fi or through an Ethernet cable. This is the only part of the system that is plugged into wall power. The app allows you to connect to many different music sources such as iHeart, Pandora, Spotify, and your own music. We connected iHeart Radio without any problems. The sound quality was beautiful! We found the bass and treble adjustments under Room Settings. This speaker system is the perfect final touch to creating an outdoor entertainment area, but they can also be used indoors as well - we're thinking of putting some in the master bedroom.

First, the great news. The Sonance speakers are big, heavy and sound fantastic. They connect simply, with the only drawback being that they are not wireless. This means you'll have to physically run wires from the Sonos unit to the speakers. If you're mounting the speakers outdoors, this means drilling a hole in your wall, as the Sonos Connect:AMP can only be mounted inside. Otherwise, the mounting brackets are simple to install, and the speakers connect easily to them. The Sonos Connect: AMP has its positives as well. Plenty of power, clean sound to a pair of 8 ohm speakers, or two pairs in parallel (4 ohm minimum). But it has drawbacks. As noted above, while the speakers are outdoor rated, the amp is not. It's not that difficult, but understand that you are not getting a completely outdoor set. The most frustrating part of this unit, though, is that the Connect: AMP cannot send audio to your existing audio system, but can only receive audio from it. This means that if you want to hear music through Sonos both inside and outside, you need two units - one to connect to your existing audio system, and one to play outdoors. This would have been such a simple thing to include (attach two RCA jacks between the pre-amp and main amp circuits, in case the folks in Santa Barbara missed that class), it is amazing that it is missing. Still, if these are limits you can live with, then I would recommend it wholeheartedly. If, like me, you loathe having two devices where one should be, then you will definitely be disappointed.

I have a big outdoor patio space in the back of my house… firepit area, bar, 2 picnic tables, separate pool area with deck with more picnic tables, loungers, Adirondack chairs, etc… We host a lot of family parties, friends, holidays, and outdoor parties, all I was missing was a great entertainment system. Enter this system… out of the box, you’ll want to figure out where you want to place the speakers to ensure they’re in proximity to the amp. Once you figure out when you want the speakers placed, mount the brackets. After the brackets are mounted, you’ll want to connect the speaker wire to the speaker (note: note is not included), then mount the speakers to the bracket. Once everything was installed, the setup of the app and system was pretty seamless. The audio coming out of the system was great! You may not notice how great Sonos is until you hear it! I recently tested it out for my Labor day party at my home and our guests were really blown away, they couldn’t believe the volume and quality coming from this system, 2 guests discussed buying it too since they also host a lot of parties. Just wish it came with everything in the box, missing speaker wire wasn't a big deal, but you would expect to have it with a system at this price point and quality.

    Sonos outdoor speaker system

The Sonos outdoor speaker was very easy to set up. It connects via wifi to your home network. Then you can use iHeart Radio or other music streaming apps to stream music. I use the free iHeart radio app and have a few different favorite stations. Once you sign up using the Sonos app, the Sonos player stays signed in to your account so it is standalone. You do not need to use your phone to control it. I also have the wireless remote which is very cool, but the battery does not seem to last very long. The first charge didn't last a week. There is a slight delay when turning it on and or changing stations or the volume, but not too long. If the remote battery lasted longer I would have given it 5 stars. It really does sound great and was pretty easy to set up. The only real downside is running the speaker wires. That is not a bad trade off vs trying to get power to the speakers. Other wireless speakers still need power. Overall, I would highly recommend them.

    Incredibly Design and Sound

So, the first thing to understand about the Sonos MAG O6SYS Outdoor Streaming Music System is that it is NOT a bluetooth speaker system. It is a networked speaker system that works with the Sonos app to stream audio content. The goal of the Sonos app is to control output to Sonos products in (presumably) multiple locations within the domain of your wireless (or wired) internet service - something that could not be done using bluetooth. Yes, this system works just fine as a standalone system, but adding other Sonos products is incredibly easy. The music “system” consists of an indoor-based network system and amplifier, two speakers designed for outdoor use (with mounting hardware), a simple remote (in case the streaming device isn’t in your pocket), and a couple cables. Worth noting that speaker cables are definitely required and are NOT included. What I like about the design here is that by taking the networking and amplification circuitry out of the speakers you no longer have outdoor power requirements for them - you just run cables out to your speakers and the (indoor) powered amp system does all the work. I liken the design to how you might wire speakers outdoors from a standard amplifier - except the Sonos app allows audio to stream to (potentially) many more places without the need to tie-in to a single amp. So, in my book, the concept and design get five stars right out of the gate (or I guess it would be right out of the box here?). Fortunately the sound gets five stars from me as well. Sonos speakers get good press for a good reason. These speakers are hefty (about 7” x 7” x 12” - they weigh over 7 lbs. each) - with a 6.5” glass fiber cone woofer and a 1” tweeter (in an acoustic back chamber) - and they push out some impressive volume and very clean full sound (60 Hz to 30 kHz - the high notes are crystal clear). According to the official specifications, the speakers conform to Mil Spec 810 for humidity, salt spray, temperature, and UV and have an IP-66 water rating - so they aren’t designed to be submerged in water or buried underground but should be able to handle just about everything else they might be exposed to outside - no need to mount them under the overhang of a roof. The amplifier unit also has three RCA connectors - two for audio in (in case you don’t want to stream) - and, quite interestingly, one for subwoofer out (for a powered subwoofer, I presume). I’m not really clear on how you would use a powered subwoofer outdoors (that seems to move away from the concept of keeping the power connections inside the house) - perhaps if you’re streaming out to a big garage? Overall, though, I didn’t find a compelling need for a subwoofer outside - my sound was strong throughout the spectrum - nothing was lacking. And while I couldn’t get the volume up to a level where you could dance to my music a block away, I could get it loud enough to annoy my neighbors if I was into doing something like that. And even at those higher volumes, there’s no sense of encroaching distortion in the music. The sound reproduction here is truly remarkable.

I bought these speakers thinking they were mad by Sonos and have the Sonos quality audio. Audio is bad and grainy only recommended if you are on a budget. On the plus side it works with the Sonos system obviously which is a big positive.

    Amazing outdoor sound upgrade!

This combo system is amazing! Sonos knocks it out of the park with this Connect AMP. This was a huge sound upgrade to our outdoor hot tub/hangout area. We've been using a small portable bluetooth speaker, but this system adds so much clarity and bass without distortion you get from a small speaker. Side note, the speakers in this kit are WIRED and the kit does not include speaker wire, make sure to pick some up! While the streaming is wireless to the Sonos AMP, the speakers are hard wired in this setup. The kit includes the Sonos Connect AMP, 2 Sonance Mag O6 Outdoor Speakers, and an xPress Audio Keypad. The speakers also come with all the required mounting equipment. The installation went nice and easy, but depending on how meticulous you are with keeping cable routing neat, it can become time consuming. The Connect AMP is not water resistant, be sure to place that portion indoors! Sonos Connect AMP: The Sonos platform is simply amazing! One of the major perks is that the wireless streaming is done over WiFi, not bluetooth. The wireless range limitation of bluetooth and music interruption is non existent problem with this system. The Sonos platform also allows you to stream to this Connect AMP and multiple other Sonos speakers and/or wireless Subs at the same time and in perfect synchronization. This Connect AMP has a wired Sub output or you can add on a Sonos Wireless Sub to add more low end bass. You can play music from 80+ different music services like iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, Pandora, and more. This is really the greatest, ultimate, multi-room premium, sound system out there. The Sonos system can be majorly wireless too depending on how you configure additional add ons, so retrofitting a current home is extremely easy! Sonance Speakers: These speakers exceeded my expectations! They're extremely solid and well built. They have substation weight to them as well. They're bigger than they appear in the pictures, the mount really securely. The speaker wire comes through the back of the speaker through a rubber grommet to help keep water out of the speaker. They have a great sound stage, amazing clarity, and have a decent amount of mid-bass. Notes: The xPress keypad is a nice addition, but be warned that you can only setup with it's native iOS app. I found that simply using the Sonos interface or other available smart home integrations with Sonos work just as easy and are as convenient. Overall this system is a joy to use. The Sonos platform is simply amazing and is a great add on to a house looking to add some entertainment.

I now know the true meaning of sound being crystal clear. Listen closely and you will hear sounds that you never even knew were on some of you favorite songs, i.e. rain in background, maracas, etc., even the words and tones are absolutely crystal clear. There are no words to express how delighted I am with the sound that comes from the Sono/Sonance speaker bundle with xPress Audio Keypad. Setup is so easy, just follow the simple directions. Even I can do it with no experience in wiring speakers, as long as you have the right tools for the job you are all set. The hardest part of set up is deciding where to place your speakers outside securely and somewhat protected from strong winds, etc. I found being in sight of security cameras ideal for me. Once you know where you are ideally placing the speakers and wires for their permanent locations the hard part is done. It is too bad that Sonos only allows iOS devices and not android to use the xPress Audio Keypad, but you can in fact use your iPod Touch iOS 10 or greater to download the app and make use of the Keypad, if you don’t have an iPhone. I happened to have an iOS 10 hanging around that I hardly ever use and at least now it is getting some use. There is always hope in the future that the app will also be for Android, but in the meantime the iPod works just fine. I highly recommend this bundle set up and you will not be disappointed in the sound.

In my mind, outdoor streaming audio is wireless. Well, this is an exception and a throw-back to component stereo, and so worth it. Physical setup is pretty straight-forward. You have to go old school and think of placement and running wires. The speakers are weatherproof but the console isn't, so you need to mount it in a protected place and plan how to route the wires. This is not designed to be a portable system. I had to get out of my home-assistant mode and look at this as a new genre of tech, since I'd never used a Sonos system before. It is its own microcosm of sound and connectivity, so I had to reframe my expectations. I set up my Sonos account and configured the device. It took a little bit if fiddling to get it to connect -- the device looks for your 2.4ghz network, not your 5ghz, so your phone has to be connected to the same version of the network to go through the setup. Next I synched my Pandora account and gave the system a go. I did enjoy being able to control it from my phone, but I can't just shout, "Hey Google, I like that song" like I normally do. The sound quality is nice, and it does get loud. Nice, full, rich loud, not shouty empty hollow loud like we hear from many portable speakers. I gotta explore the other connections and options for Sonos, but so far I'm really happy with this system.

BEWARE! Although the Sonance speakers ARE for outdoor use, the Amp is NOT! So, I contacted Sonos and they said the amp is for indoor use only. Furthermore, the operating temperature of the amp is far below the temperature in my area (Central CA). Solution: I hid a mini refrigerator in the bushes in my garden to keep the amp cool and I wired the speakers to the "cool" amp.

First I gave 5 stars but almost wanted to take away a star for no speaker wire included or android app support. But the easy of set up and omg sound quality reproduction for an outdoor speaker system blew us away. In the box you get the 2 Sonance speakers, a 110w amp, the xPress audio pad, power cord, and manual. Set up was straightfoward but requires the app to set up, and that app is iOS as of this review. But other than that setting up the main unit and connecting to the network was pretty simple. The speakers are built very tough and waterproof. They will last a very long time with how well made they are. The main unit is also sturdy and well made but not waterproof. As for the sound...wow, very clean, crisp and clear highs, mids, etc. Others might say you need a subwoofer but low bass was present and I was content with just the two speakers, which pack plenty of oomph.

We've had a projection screen on the patio where we used to watch movies when the kids were younger. Each time I would need to haul out speakers and an amp that I would need to set up with the projector for sound. This was an easy decision when seeing this Sonance outdoor unit. It mounted under the eaves perfectly and it only took a small hole to route the speaker wires through the exterior wall into the garage where I placed the base unit that came with the package. I simply placed the base unit on a shelf inside the garage, connected the speaker wires, plugged it into an outlet, and then downloaded and used the Sonos mobile app to connect the base unit and to begin streaming music. Using the app, it was very easy to connect my Amazon music account which I am now using to stream music. The overall sound is good, the usability is great, and the speaker appearance is good (blends into the surroundings). We definitely like this one and I definitely recommend it to anyone seeking some outdoor sound...
