Customers are saying

Customers value the impressive sound quality, ease of use, and strong bass of the Outdoor Speaker Streaming Audio Bundle with xPress Audio Keypad. Many appreciate the system's weather resistance and ease of setup, although some find the price point high and the wired nature of the speakers a drawback. The sleek design also receives positive feedback. Concerns were raised regarding the power output and the need for a separate, non-weatherproof amplifier.

I just got this system installed tonight in our backyard and I am amazed at the sound quality of these speakers. I was told at my local Best Buy that this is a new product and it was a good value so we bought it and we are really happy. It is also cool that it comes with a wireless volume control. I had never seen that before and It is a really cool idea.

Went to BBY to buy some new outdoor speakers and they talked me into this pkg. I never write reviews but i am so happy with this I setup I had to. Sound is amazing and the Sonos connect amp alone is almost the price of the bundle. They told me the speakers were over $600 value I believe it after hearing them. Still learning the keypad but it is so nice to have out by the pool so I don’t have to keep my phone on me. Going to buy another for my brother

Noticeable Audio Delay When Streaming Video

First, this is a great deal on excellent outdoor speakers and a nice amp, particularly if you're just looking to stream wireless music. HOWEVER, there are two important things to note: 1) First, as others have commented, this is NOT a true outdoor system. The Connect:Amp is not weatherproof so you will have to buy an outdoor NEMA-rated enclosure at around another $180 if you want to keep everything outside in the elements. 2) More importantly, while you can connect video from a TV, you can only do so via RCA cables and - CRITICALLY - the audio will be out of sync with the video playback. This means you can stream audio from a TV, but if you're looking to watch a movie or sporting event outdoors - with sound that is synchronized - you will have to look elsewhere. The new Sonos Amp has an HDMI input and is built to handle synchronized audio+video playback. Sadly, this unit is not and I think it's a bit misleading of Sono to advertise support for a TV when they're own product documentation says there's a .75ms delay when using uncompressed (WAV) audio which requires a solid Internet connection to stream. This is likely why the bundle is so heavily discounted (and Sonos started officially white-labeling Sonance speakers). So: -5 stars if all you need is an outdoor streaming music system and can run speaker wires through a hole in a wall. -4 stars if you need to buy an outdoor enclosure to support weatherproofing the Connect:Amp and/or want synchronized audio to watch TV/movies outdoors. -3 stars if you also want both outdoor and TV

    Perfect Outdoor Sonos Experience

Purchased this a few weeks ago but only just got around the setting up this weekend. The box contains a Sonos packaged Connect Amp and 2 Sonance speakers which looked to have been manufactured specifically for BB/Magnolia, but are by spec almost identical to the Mariner 54'S. There's also the remote but have not found a need to even set that up yet. Maybe later in the summer. Set up was a complete breeze. Did have to buy a wifi extender to get signal out to the annex in the yard where i was wiring the speakers to the side of, but that was not a problem to do. Ended up getting a Netgear AC1200 and it gives great strength through 2 external walls out to the building which is about 30ft from the house. For wiring, Im using Rocket Fish 16 gage. I tacked the small amount external wire away from any direct weather exposure. Most of the wiring is fed into the annex so I have no major concerns of them holding up long term. I was originally planning to purchase different outdoor speakers, but im so glad I found this instead. Price is fair to what so far is tremendous quality and very simply set up. If you are looking to add Sonos to your outdoor area, this would be by #1 recommendation.

    High Quality

You get what you pay for... and in this case it’s very high quality. I hooked everything up inside my house to test out the sound and was impressed. However I was blown away when I set the speakers up outside. They are extraordinarily crisp and clear with excellent mid range and sufficient base. If you like lots of base in the yard, you’ll need a sub. Personally, I’d rather not disturb the neighbors with thundering base. The sound spreads well and can be enjoyed from 10’ to 75’ with plenty of clean loudness and volume. I couldn’t be more pleased.

    Highlighting the lowlights of speakers

I really wanted to like this after reading the reviews. Since you can get the connect:amp anywhere, this is all about the speakers. I hated their sound. The midrange is raspy and grating, and the highs were almost non-existent. Listening to these side by side with my home Mirage OMD-5 and even Sonos Play-1 made me appreciate how good those speakers sound. I found some 5-1/4" outdoor speakers from Proficient for 1/10 the price that sound much better, even though the bass is a little boomy. They are also about 1/2 the size of these giant outdoor speakers. Look elsewhere for speakers. The NHT get good reviews in this price range.
