    Easier to set-up than a Harmony 700

I was a little sceptical about this remote because i had bought a different learning remote last year and i thought that one was really difficult to set-up and use. That remote retails for $119.99 I bought it on sale for $99.99. I have some channels that use a decimal point, such as 4.1,or5.1,or9.2 etc. I could not get the old remote to learn the decimal point,so i always had to use the channel up/down button to change channels. The RM-VLZ620 already has that programmed in. I think the RM-VLZ620 is also alot easier to teach other commands to as well. It even works with my polk audio sound bar.

Inexpensive Remote That Can Do Macros

Since Logitech is pulling out of the universal remote business, I wanted to find an alternative to test out. The Sony remote was only $25 and it works great! It doesn't have the LCD screen that my Logitech 650 has, but I never really used the LCD stuff that much anyways (and it chewed through batteries). The Sony took a bit of learning and trial and error before I got it programmed, but once I learned the basics it was pretty simple. The remote works great and we have actually moved away from the Logitech because it works so well. The remote does do macros, so that I can program it to turn on the TV, Amp and Bluray player at the press of one button and control everything the way that I want to. I do wish the keypad lit up so that I could see in a dark room.

Best remote I have ever used

I love this unit. It is easy for me to setup, but it does take time. I have 3, one used with my main theater system, and one each in my master bedroom and guest bedroom. These are the only remotes used in the house. The others are stored away for future reference. Once set up, it takes one button to turn on my theater and then one button to sellect my Blue Ray player, Cable, my home server that holds my music and videos, and my Playstation. I can even control the fans in the room and turn on/off/dim my lighting system. All with one button operation. It is easy enough to use that I have instructions printed out for friends to operate it with no difficulty. AND, its cost is reasonable and not crazy like the more expensive, and more difficult to use, high end units.

I bought this one about 3 years ago and love it. I just recently bought another HD TV with DVD and surround for another room. I was so impressed with the first one that I went out and bought this one last night. Set up was EXTREMELY easy since my TV and Surround are both Sony products which makes this remote all the more fantastic. I didn't have to program anything. It was already working with my components. Now for the cable box I had to put in one code and did some learning and now this one remote just took the place of 3. No more clutter and that makes the wife very happy! The salesperson at Best Buy said this one is going to be discontinued and they did not have any on the shelf but 5 on the truck and he went and got that for me. Make sure you get one of these before they are all gone!!!!

    Great Remote

I purchased this remote to replace the 4 remotes I had for my home theater system. Out of the package, the remote worked for my Sony Bravia LCD 52W4100 television. I entered in the codes for my Panasonic DVD Player that is about 8 years old, my Sony Stereo Receiver that is 4 years old, and my DirecTV satellite receiver that is about 6 years old. All worked great after finding the right code. I also found the master volume setting to set all volume controls, regardless of component selected to my stereo receiver to be a great plus. I did not have to use the learning function as the extensive code list that was provided worked great. I also entered a macro setting for turning on/off for stereo, tv, and satellite with one push of a button and that worked as well.

I bought this for a friend who needed a remote for her Promethean board in school. Her remote was lost/stolen. The district never purchased extras and now the original ones are discontinued. I purchased this because of the learning feature. I was able to take another teacher's remote and program this remote to have full functionality. The learning function takes some practice to get the remotes at the right spacing and both remotes need to have new batteries for the best chance of everything working smoothly. I have already informed the tech guys about this remote if other teachers are having the same problem. Works very well!

After purchasing this remote, I had a Phillips surround system, Insignia TV, RCA DVD player, Advent TV, Sony stereo and a Charter cable box programmed in about 20 minutes. The DVD player, cable box and surround system were all codes in the manual. The TVs had to be manually taught which took about 5 minutes. It controls everything and did away with 6 remotes. After reading the reviews for this product, I was a little weary of purchasing it but it turned out perfect.

I spent my entire Sunday trying to find a learning remote that would learn the AT&T U-Verse Cable Box and the Olevia Television I have connected to it. This was my third unit of the day and the least expensive. I was able to teach the RM-V600 every function of both units. And the programming was by far and away the easiest one out of the 3 units I laid hands on today. Somehow Sony always comes through . . . thank you Sony and to the patient staff of Best Buy.

I love this remote! it is great, I have a sony TV, DVD Player, Receiver, CD changer, and a zenith vcr. The learnig function is great, and the buttons at the bottom can be set to perform any single or multiple functions, I have button "A" set to turn on all my electronics with one button. VERY easy to use. Only problem is that it will not operate my zenith vcr, even with the learning function, but I don't mind to much, so it still gets 5 stars!

A Universal Remote That ACTUALLY WORKS!!

    Posted .

I just want to start off by saying, I NEVER write reviews but I felt that this remote deserved a review. The remote is $25 and it actually works!! It is already set up out the box to work with ANY Sony products so I didnt need to program my Blu Ray Disc player, but I quickly linked my TV, my component audio system, my cable box and my A/C as well as my two ceramic space heaters!! That took care of MOST of the features, but I still didnt have the use of some buttons. Thats when the learning feature comes in. I taught the remote the features and buttons I wanted by having one remote "talk" to the other. In a matter of 20 minutes, I replaced 6 remotes, with ONE remote. Now this remote can LITERALLY run everything in my living room except the lights haha. I think that for 25 bucks, you cant go wrong with this. Another reason why Sony is awesome.

This is a very easy to use and reasonably priced universal remote. The manual is usually very helpful with programming. The learning function is the reason for this purchase because the remote can be programmed any way you want. The picture is of the older model, which is also very nice. The newer model is very similar, but the buttons are rearranged and there are a few more.

This remote is awesome! I was a little weary when I bought it, I even asked the cashier if I could bring it back if it didnt control my components. After I learned how to use the learning feature, which took about 2 seconds, I was able to program every button individually, which took a few minutes, but I could also customize it and make it work how I wanted it to. I would definitely recommend this!

For $25.00 you can't go wrong. Works out of box on sony stuff and can be programed for just about everything else. Good on batteries. The 3 I.R. heads let's you use the remote at extreme angles. Also this remote is better the the TiVo remote and a lot cheaper.

FANTASTIC REMOTE!!! Very Universal! User Friendly!

I have a old Hughes Directv receiver, a brand new Sony LCD 26" TV, a brand new Sony DVD/VCR Recorder and an old JVC bookshelf sound system....and oh yeah a remote controlled fan. This remote, through the learning technique, I am able to control all of them. I did have to take the remote into a different room, as the guide suggested, for the learning capability to work. In no time I had the 6 devices I've listed programmed to do what I mostly do with each ones individual remote. I could even set up the DVD/VCR Recorder function of switching back and forth between the two. I was very much impressed with this remote and would highly recommend it to anyone just looking to condense their remotes down to one. Heck I even programmed my remote control fan into this remote...Glad I didn't spend the 200.00 for their flat screen remote.

I love this thing I can turn on my receiver my tv xbox all with one button thanks to its multifunction buttons. Its learning function is very nice. I said 2nd best to the logitec harmony because in order to use this with my xbox I had to use the learning function of this remote to learn from the $100 harmony that my brother had so now i can do everything that a hundred dollar remote can do, but I only paid $25. and this remote also has 2 led infared transmitters and most remotes have one all I now is I can point my remote opposite the direction of my home theater and turn everything on with one button the A,B,C,D buttons are the one button that can be programed to turn everything on just so you know my comcast remote is a joke it cant even turn up the volume but this thing can control all 3 tvs in my house my cable box dvd tv xbox and anything infared if you dont have the code for it just use the learning function to teach it and its really easy anyone can do it just buy this remote you will love it I guarantee it!!!

This is the best universal remote I have ever bought. I was able to program it right away. It is hard to find a remote to work with dish network, but with this remote, you can program the buttons any way that you want and it is easy.
