Will not accept Dishnetwork codes but otherwise works about the same as the original but different style so have to get use to function locations on the remote. Input component keys not label like dvd, tv, phono etc. so have to do a little investigating to learn how and where they are located and how to work them. On original input keys are at the top of the remote where this remote has them located at the bottom.

Extremely easy, one-touch programming for Sony devices. Other devices have simple, 5 digit codes. I like that you can also program non-listed devices but doing so literally button by button becomes tedious quite quickly.

I was surprised that this was easily programable given the TV was older

I have Sony receivers and Blue Ray players. An LG TV in my family room and Panasonic TV in my bedroom. What is great the price is great easy to setup so I bought two for each room. Now I don't have to worry about temporarily losing a controller in the sofa etc. Makes it great when I do want to watch TV.

Great replacement remote. For the sony things I have, it worked right out of the package.

This remote worked great for my older DLP Sony TV. Right out of the box worked every thing just like the factory remote did before it quit.

Easy to program. Has more buttons pre-programmed than any other universal remote that I have ever used. I love the learning feature.

Manual a little bit tricky but once you pass Tyra threshold is easy breezy. Good item.

Works like a charm. No setup needed for my TV (Sony) and my FIOS STB (Motorola). Also works with my Blu-Ray DVD (Sony).

Busy time of year so I haven't played with it much. I got it to work with all my devices except apple TV. Needs some fine tuning but right now I can turn stuff on and have my amp change volume when watching different TV inputs. Learning seems to go quick just wish it had extra buttons for device features remote doesn't have (zoom, home, things like that)

So Ideal I will purchase an additional device to give as a present

I bought a Sony TV and BR players for myself and my Aunt (a few years ago); bought 2 remotes - my Aunt accidentally dropped her remote (or got wet) and was not working as it should, bought it as a replacement for her and just in case for me, got 2 remotes for the price of one. Are working just fine, had to make sure.
