I baught as a back up but this also came with my camera!

I read all the reviews and finally decided that the OEM Sony Battery was the "safest" choice. I'm an electrical engineer - I know other batteries will work perfectly fine and not burn up my camera. But at the end of the day, it's a $1000 camera - and didn't think it was worth the risk. I skipped Starbucks for a week in order to justify the extra $20!

It holds up well, even when I have to use my review screen a lot, and in cold weather too. It does take a while to recharge, overnight is best, a concern when a person tries to keep it charged for extended usage. It is a bit on the pricey side!
