I bought this for my dvd and blue ray collection. It works great. Even working with cds, which I was not expected and glad to have. More functions than I expected.

The previous Blu-ray player I had, Samsung BD-JM57, became useless due to either a faulty update by the manufacturer or the manufacturer did not update their license. Needed another Blu-ray player ASAP and as usual Best Buy was the place to go. The Sony works great and the price was in line with other players. Nothing bad to say.

It’s easy to use. It has a great quality picture. It has a great sound.

Nice compact footprint. Value adds include ability to stream Amazon Prime videos, Netflix, etc directly to the unit. Supports miracast without adapters. Digital audio out is coaxial and not optical. Power adapter is an external power brick that converts 110v AC household plug to 12v barrel plug which is good for anyone who wants to use this in a car, RV or any other items that supports 12v directly without using the power brick and inverter. Note this is not a standard barrel plug but one that has a center pin. Negatives: The Bluray disc player is a bit slow on loading a disc to actually playing, and the UI when using for 'smart' functions or as a streaming box is laggy and not as responsive as one would hope. At price point, acceptable. Occasionally audio jumps or there is a slight dropout while playing certain discs. Not constantly but at several points in the movie. As long as Sony keeps updating the player and Bluray encryption keys so that it will work for future discs, will be happy. Had some Bluray players in the past from various manufacturers that didn't get updated and became useless for newer discs.

I had a LG player that died after a year and a half and decided to go with the Sony mostly because it has an ethernet port. The LG would drop WiFi and interupt movies all the time. So far it's been an excellent player that hasn't given us any problems. Mostly it's used for our kids movies and they love it. Works great and looks good in our entertainment center.

I love this blu-ray player. It has wireless connectivity to the internet and has built in apps. It is small in size and very light. It connects by HDMI cable. I would consider bringing this along on vacation. I would connect to the hotel's Wi-Fi and stream shows on available channels or apps loaded into the blu-ray player. I would definitely recommend this product.

Cool how it taps in wifi and all the good stuff. Girlfriend thinks remote is hard to understand.

First, this is a cheaper model wifi blueray player so it may not stack up next to the higher end ones. That said, it was for our basement to access youtube and play some dvd's while working out. It meets our needs and is easy to set up. Seems to have good wifi range and works well. We haven't had any issues so far.
