I bought this Walkman MP3 player primarily for use during running, walking, and other exercising. I have owned MANY MP3 players over the decades but this one is the best. It's the best fit, the lightest, stays in the ear the best, high-quality sound, plenty of volume, intuitive controls, and will hold much more music than I will ever load onto it.

    Love my Walkman Sport

This is the second Sony Walkman Sport that I have had. My first one lasted about 5 years which isn't bad when I swim with it on 2 to 3 times a week and tend to forget to take it out of my bag. This one is even better than the first. The newer design fits better and stays in my ears while swimming without having to be held on with my goggles. The battery life is good...I tend to recharge once every 2 to 3 weeks. The buttons on this are easy to navigate without having to remove the earbuds and look for them. There are audio signals for power on and power off as well as modes of play. I could do without the conversation mode, but I suppose if you were using them while jogging with a partner or where you wanted to be aware of traffic around you it may be helpful.

    From a daily swimmer:

Ok, so I swim daily at 24 hour fitness. At minimum I swim a mile a day. And for the longest time I would get frustrated and bored about thinking of day to day stress. So I looked into the headphones and reviews out on the internet. All of them led to failure and no BIG company has the interest to make headphones waterproof for swimmers. So I'm so happy Walkman from Sony finally stepped up. The headset is good it works perfect under water. The only issue I've had is the ear piece. I think with a swim cap and the goggles i can hold them in place. But the second I go for the turn and push off. They fall off. But it still holds in place enough to hear the music. So there is that. Either way its really close to perfect. but needs some tweeking. All in all I love them. They charge fast and hold a good amount of music. It does come with a ton of bloatware but sony is known for that.

I use the headphones while running. With wired headphones, the cord is a nuisance and has to be attached to some sort of device (phone or mp3 player). Wireless headphones are a little better (no cord) but I'd still need to carry a device. Neither the wired or wireless phones will stay in my ears after I start to sweat. With these, I download what I want to listen to, copy it to the headphones, and the tension of the band keeps the speakers in my ears. After about an hour of running, they do get a bit uncomfortable due to pressure in my ears but it is tolerable. I have not tried them while lap swimming yet. Time will tell as to durability and how long they will accept and keep a charge.

I was lookiing for an mp3 player that I could use for running and found the Sony - Walkman NW-WS413 4GB* MP3 Player. This device is also able to be used while swimming. Device setup is relatively simple and storage is good. It has been excellent while on runs. It stays in place while on my head and holds a very good charge. I recommend it highly.

I have misophonia, hyper-sensitive hearing, and just love rocking out to my tunes whenever, wherever (Shakira!) indoors and out to block out the mediocrity going on around the environment. This headset took a few days getting used to the controls but eventually became second nature. It was purchased to replace a dying corded MP3 player used at the gym for 3 hours (easy) and it the fact it's water-proof is an added bonus since after I'm done with cardio it looks like (according to mother) someone dumped a few gallons of water on me. Not only does it help pass the time and boosts morale, but also blocks out terrible music playing over a building's PA system. The playlist at gyms are questionable but at my job, holy cow, their taste in "music" makes me want to have my ear holes surgically sewn shut. Fortunately Sony allows me to plug in and escape to my own world. Their NWZ-S544 model has served me and my family well but lithium batteries can only last so long. In fact that was their best product of all time and since its discontinuation the company has only made inferior products to replace it. Smaller, less buttons, less functionality. That's what people want, right? I digress. This thing has been used extensively for the past 18 months, almost every day for several hours and the battery life is doing its best to stay alive. Panic sets in when I hear music cut off and hear "low battery". Oh, I hadn't mentioned the voice. Yes, it's synthesized, but she sounds lovely. "Power on/off, shuffle play, repeat, next folder." Now at first the buds will hurt your ear holes but like a new pair of boots they'll be fine after a breaking in session. It's worth it. Unfortunately not many people understand I cannot hear them over rock music playing and will continue to shout at me, whether or not they notice this is on my head. The only thing that would've made this perfect would've been noise-cancelling buds. They're not bad, just would've been a tad better. I see some reviewers state the waterproof buds muffle the music so be warned. I yet have to use them as I'm rarely ever at a pool/beach.

I have a Apple Phone with loads of music on it, however it weighs so much more than the Sony MP3 earphones. I run 5 days a week and wearing the Sony MP3 earphones, its as if I am not wearing anything at all. The sound quality is amazing. I would recommend this to anyone who does any outside exercise or activity. Wearing these as I mow the lawn is no issue, as they are loud enough to hear over the sound of the mower.

For long swims it works well, and helps pass the time. During laps it is also useful in keeping and or setting a pace when attempting to keep intervals in check. The issues I have had using it in the pool is occasionally knocking out device out of my ear on turns, also take time to set the bud size. The better the buds seal during a swim the more effective the device works. Although this may not sound like an exciting or ringing endorsement, I use this device on a very regular basis, and it has made my exercise routine much more enjoyable. If you include swimming as part of your regular exercise regimen, I would recommend trying out this Walkman.

Downloading of music was easy. The tunes sound great in the ear phones only problem I have is trying to keep the ear phones in my ear. I tried the smaller ones but they got stuck in my ear so had to go back to the medium size ones.

I've owned and used it for past 3 months and so far so good. Sound quality is excellent and it offers numerous playback features. I prefer this one over the pyle that I have been using for the past 2 years in that it sets on my ears and along my neck with ease. I don't have to adjust it while in the water.

The Walkman is extremely light and comfortable to wear. It holds a ton of music and is easy to use. The only issue I had was trying to download music. The instructions that came with the device were not very helpful so I ended up looking up how to on the internet. Once I figured it out it was easy.

Easy charging hook up to laptop. Software for downloading music to set is the only real issue, not the best. Comfortable and holds a decent amount of music. Stays in place during exercise.

My wife is always complaining that I have the stereo on too loud in the yard when I am swimming. Found an old review on this product and thought I would give it a try. It is great! Setup was pretty easy (the software found, identified and translated most of my 1,183 iTunes albums) and I have been using it almost daily since I got it. The sound is pretty good, considering I am putting my head in and out of the water all the time (not too deep). I have a salt-water pool and so far, no problems. Just what I was looking for. May try it at the gym next.

I purchases an older version of this product in 2013, and used it at least 750 times. Loved them! They finally semi-broke on me in last-2019 (I think they got a bit crushed in my suitcase, they were broken when I arrived on vacation) -- the left ear still works and all the buttons work but the right ear sound is a mostly dead. I'm very happy that they lasted over 6 years and so many uses. Unfortunately, due to covid I haven't actually been able to try out the new ones yet :( But assuming they are as good as the 2013 ones, I'm sure they'll be great. I'm glad that the new headphones directly integrate with existing music library programs (iTunes, Windows Media Player), since the one thing I didn't like about the 2013-version was that you had to use Sony's music library program.

Great audio quality. The controls are easy to access and use when being active. I have not used these while swimming although it is great to have and use these in wet conditions and not have to worry about them. I also like the fact you can setup different folders so you can have and easily change playlists.

Used strictly for fresh water swimming. Great Sound. Very Cool outside noise modes! Just wish the battery lasted more than 2 hours. That's sucks. Previous model from 2015 went 8 hours.
