The only reason I don’t give it 5 stars is because the GPS Tracking isn’t constant. It has a setting of 5 minutes being the soonest location update. Besides that I love that it has a “School Mode” where everything is turned off except S.O.S calling that calls and texts the emergency contacts only. You have up to 10 contacts you can add to your emergency list. You also cannot activate the S.O.S by accident since it’s not a button you press. I also like the fact that it tells you when the watch is taken off and put back on so I can immediately call and have my child put it back on (for younger kids like mine 6 Yr Old btw). Another cool feature is that you can deactivate messaging so your kids won’t be sending you emoji’s or random messages (you can customize phrases for kids barely learning how to read too). The box contains a SIM card that’s actually cheaper than adding the watch to your cellular plan because it needs its own cellphone number plus you also have to pay for the app subscription. I did look for other cheaper SIM card options, but I didn’t find any better ones. You can hear clearly and vice versa. I honestly think this is the better option for children instead of cellphones. Less likely to loose and less distractions for parent wanting to be able to contact their children or know their whereabouts.

Great, functional product for kids. Great peace of mind for parents. Watch is very fragile, broke in to pieces on 2 feet drop. Excellent customer service though, replaced as priority for free… highly recommend.

The watch is not the easiest to setup. It does help if you utilize the included SIM from Jumpy. Verizon is not a supported carrier. The connector holding on the watch band broke within 3 weeks of my son wearing it daily.

The Spacetalk Adventurer 4G Kids Smart Watch Phone and GPS is a product that my son and his wife-to-be have been looking for their daughter, a 7 year old daughter, soon to be in second grade. The sleek, black matte design is not too flashy for a young child's watch, a classic and always in design. Just like all parents, they are very concerned with her personal safety when she is not with them like at school, her biological father's visits, and other such times. This is a less expensive version of a competitor's SE watch, we are very happy about. As you will see in the attached photos, the watch sent out is the gray one, but it does also come in more fun and youthful colors. When the offer for this product was announced, it was very clearly mentioned that this company's target age group were children between 5-12 years of age. To that end, it does accommodate the younger ones that may not have their full reading skills yet with already prepared messages that they can text to whoever. My grandchild is very tall for her age and the fit of the watch is perfect on her wrist.
So, we were emailed instructions to call in the company's 800 number before we set up and activated the phone that said it would entail about a 30 minute phone call. Unfortunately, I received the watch when my son and his wife-to-be were recovering from a bout with Covid. Therefore, I had to wait a few days until their quarantine ended, which took it a weekend day. The toll free 800 number is only answered M-F, from 9 am-5pm, CST. We made a 3 way call as soon as possible, a Monday morning around 10 or so, but while we waited on the line until a customer service agent would pick up, it eventually went to a message that they were closed and to call again during business hours. We tried to recall several times over a period of time, but to no avail. However, later that day or within the next day or so, I did personally receive a call from a man named Bobby who told me that they were having trouble with their VOIP phone system, in fact, our call messed up when he could not hear me on my end and eventually dropped. Bobby immediately called me back and was really very helpful and willing to discuss all that he thought that would be helpful.
By this time, my son and his fiancée had already downloaded the smartphone app and set up the watch, but they did think that the set up was difficult. The watch itself functions great. It has the options for: calling, texting, messaging, a heart monitor, a calculator, and a light. There are a couple functions that me and my wife-to-be really enjoy, that make us feel more comfortable when she is not with us and wearing the watch. The first is the GPS function. Previously, we have used a watch similar to this one that had GPS, but that previous watch used cell tower signals, which did not work so well when the tower signals from a carrier did not have a strong enough signal. Literally, we would give us notifications that she was located in Hong Kong or Florida, which is ridiculous because we know she was in our town on a visit. According to the man that I spoke wound up speaking to, the Spacetalk Adventure watch uses a very specific version of Google Maps GPS that really fine tunes the child's location and gives the location's address so that you know exactly where they are. Satellites that are able to so specifically locate the watch has proven to be more accurate continuously than the previous watch mentioned.
The other function we like is called the SOS option. The child needs to be educated on this feature and how to use it. They simply swipe up and then swipe right and a big red button should appear. If the child were to activate this option, it would send out a call, text, and notification to the first emergency contact and if that call would not be answered, it would text the same number as well, and if neither were responded to, it would start sending the same sequence of events to all the emergency contacts that were preset into the watch. After talking to the representative of the company, he told me that once the SOS feature is activated, if there is a bad person who might be trying to turn off the watch, rip it off the child, or try to destroy it would be useless because once the signal from the watch is dispatched, the signal is already gone and out of the chicken coop and the emergency contacts are notified with a location for authorities, which have helped in tracking kidnappings and also other close situations. The rep that called me shared a quick story. This watch was originally made to be sold in Australia and the UK. Apparently, there was a case in Scotland where a child sent out the SOS signal and his father happened to be physically close, only a block or so away when he got the distress signal. This involved a boy and a man was following him and clearly making the child uncomfortable for his personal safety. The father got to his son before any misdeed occurred, but the police were then contacted and the company was able to help them with GPS information of where the boy had been and they were able to apprehend said bad guy.
Another function that is useful is the school function. When activated, the watch can block calling and texting and other functions during the school day, ie. 8 am-3 pm, except for like heart beat and other health functions that can track heartbeat, etc. that can be programmed to be usable during gym class on certain days at certain times. Another feature is called Safe Zone within the app. This allows the parents to use the geo sensor and virtually allows them to put fences around areas that they are allowed to be, by address, so that if they wander or are taken somewhere else not within the fenced area an alert is issued. That radius can be as small or as large as the parent allows and they can also attach time constraints that the child can be there. As far as your privacy goes, the company that makes this watch does not have access to the contacts that you program in the watch and they do not sell to anyone-he said that privacy, safety, and ethics are very important to them.
Some fun facts about this watch: it is IP 67 and therefore, water resistant, not water proof-should be able to handle no deeper than 4 feet for up to 30 minutes, uses a Qwerty keyboard for texting, etc., the ability for both parents to device share and be contacted through the app to receive calls, texts, and notifications by parent A sending an email to parent B once they too have set up an account. Passive listening is not available, where a person in the child's orbit can be listened to on the parents' side without that person with the child knowing that they are being listened to. That might be a very sticky issue in states where that is not legal, however, the child can initiate either a call and put it on speaker or do a video chat, with or without the person in the room's permission. Our watch came with a sim card and a gift card for $20 for cell use which we did not have to currently use since the sim card from the previous watch was transferred and we already had cell service to it with its own telephone number. The Adventurer is new with more bells and whistles than earlier iterations. The customer rep said that updates are infrequent, but necessary to download.
By the way, the reason that we are giving it a 4 star rating is because as I was getting ready to write this review today, the watch started sending messages about the GPS, one of the most important features. It is stating that device is out of range while that is not true or turned off, and that is not true. My son will be calling the toll free help line tomorrow and I hope that this issue can and will be immediately be resolved. The toll free number is available for free help for the life of the watch and as long as the child uses it.

Made the kid happy with his very first phone

Like every kid growing up in this digital age, my K-5 son wanted a phone. Well, he already got a laptop for school and ipad for games so there’s no real need in getting a smartphone. As his parents, we have concerns about the online safety of our children and the privacy risks. We feel that he is not ready yet to get a smartphone. Aside of online safety and privacy risks, we are also mindful of screen addiction. We don’t want our kids to be glued to their phone. On the other hand, getting a phone is not a bad idea. We need to be able to reach him if we can’t pick him up on time. Being able to track his whereabout at all times is not a bad idea as well.
We have considered a number of options. He wanted a smartphone but we definitely do not want to give him that. Getting a talk only phone is not a good option as we think he would not be willingly bringing the phone everywhere he goes. The Spacetalk watch came and we’re glad to choose it. The number one consideration for us is to limit the ways in which our kid does his online activities thus making him safe. The watch enables us to communicate with our kid effectively without making us be worried about the privacy risks. Also, the watch has a ton of features that are both useful for parents and the child.
For a phone/watch to work in the first place, it’s got to be something comfortable for the child to wear, durable and looks cool. The Spacetalk watch fit to those criteria. This is important, there’s no point in getting a watch if your child does not want to wear it or is not happy about it. The design of the watch looks quite techy hence the coolness factor. For a kid, wearing something cool is huge. Since the watch has an IP 67 rating and equipped with gorilla glass display, we’re not too worried about its durability. As in the case of even the most high-end smartphone, getting a screen protector for the watch is advisable.
As for the features, the watch integrates seamlessly with the Spacetalk parental app in your mobile phone so parents can have control of the device. The watch has a SOS alert feature, which is very useful to immediately alert parent of emergency. The school mode limits the child to use the phone during school hours. Our kid also likes to take pictures and set his own alarm clock and reminders. Overall, this is a solid product. The watch has made his older brother quite jealous so we’re seriously considering getting another watch.

A Very Smart Approach!

The Spacetalk Adventurer Kids Smart Watch in summary is a durable piece of tech that can help maintain contact with the little ones without giving them the full exposure typical LTE connected smart watches would. My seven-year-old daughter and nine-year-old son were my supporting reviewers.
The device is a mashup of durable hardware and an intuitive Spacetalk App that takes full advantage of the hardware. The 1.4” OLED screen is protected by scratch-resistant Gorilla. In direct sunlight, display brightness may need to be increased. Above the screen are the speakerphone and a 5MP camera for capturing videos and pictures. Outputs are decent in my opinion for purpose served. My wish list for the camera, however, includes support for video calling and longer video capture. Currently, captured videos can only be 10 seconds long. Calls are loud and crisp. On the right-hand side of the device is the microphone. Beneath the device are the charging port, heartrate sensor, power button and the access for the nano sim card. Watch straps are interchangeable, although they would all need to be Spacetalk specifc as design appears proprietary. The straps are easy to put on, even for smaller hands. Besides the rugged mold, the Spacetalk Adventurer Kids Smart Watch is also IP67 rated. It is waterproof to a depth of about 4 feet for up to 30 minutes. The rating also implies components are protected against dust particles. The enclosed battery easily lasts a day with typical use. The charging dock magnetically attaches to the smartwatch and has an LED to confirm charging status. Charging is about two hours from empty. It has a micro-USB port and the device ships with only a cable, just like most electronics currently do. The device provides visual, sound and vibration feedback.
The Spacetalk App (downloadable from either Google Play or Apple App store) in my opinion is the biggest selling point. It simply delivers a level of control that would assuage any nervous parent’s fears.
Swiping right from the home screen provides access to device apps:
• Fitness: measures heartrate, steps
• Calculator: simple calculator that can be disabled in School mode
• Weather: delivers current weather conditions in a very simple to comprehend format
• Timer: counts down one of four preconfigured durations (1, 2, 5 or 10 minutes)
• Flashlight: illuminates the entire screen white, green or amber. Intensity is also configurable
• Buddies: enables chat between other approved Spacetalk users. Parent would need to approve prior
• Location: sends wearer’s location to contact
• Awards: stars assigned by parents for task/activity completion as incentive driver
• Messages: exchange text/multimedia messages in regular fashion
• Chat: exchange text/multimedia messages within Spacetalk App
• Stopwatch: times events
• Camera: capture stills or ten second videos
• Album: review captured pictures and videos
• Calendar: displays calendar
• Call: place calls to predetermined contacts and or review call history
Swiping down from the home screen delivers the brightness, sound, settings and Bluetooth options.
Finally, swiping up from the home screen provides access to the emergency call feature that automatically calls chosen contacts (or all), sends them text messages about the feature being enabled and finally alerts through the Spacetalk App for redundancy. 911 can also be configured for the feature.
Both kids found the device and navigation very intuitive to use. They had no trouble registering their inputs.
As a parent who has longed believed on waiting until much later to get children “connected’, I have been very impressed about Spactetalk’s approach. The parent essentially controls every aspect of the Spacetalk Adventurer Kids Smart Watch. As previously stated, only configured contacts may communicate with the device, meaning no SPAM calls which in my opinion is very helpful these days. Within the app, the wearer’s location can be determined. Zone alerts can also be created to send out alerts when the wearer exits/returns to the zone. The GPS monitoring function automatically reports the wearer’s location from as frequent as every five minutes to as lengthy periods as an hour. There is also an on-demand location feature that instantaneously provides the wearer’s location. The map also depicts the parent’s position relative to the wearer and can also help navigation by invoking Google Maps, UBER etc. A satellite layer can be selected for the base map if preferred. The device can also be located when misplaced through the Find My Spacetalk feature which allows the device to ring at full volume, vibrate and increase brightness levels to aid the effort.
The weather feature is through Accuweather and updates the parent with the weather conditions of the wearer’s environment. The School Mode helps parents disable specific apps (or all of them) for either specific periods or on a recurring basis. To mimic a “pause”, two pencils are displayed on the home screen when this feature is enabled. I see this as a huge benefit to help prevent distraction when worn to school or other sensitive locations. The parent can also receive alerts when the device is either taken off the wearer wrist or put back on. Low battery levels (below 15 percent) are reported to the parent; the wearer also gets an alert on the home screen that remains until the battery is charged past that level. The clever app even alerts parents to remind their children to charge overnight. Speaking of control, the Spacetalk App allows parents to restrict certain emoji’s, use only preset messages or the use of a keyboard for actual message composition. By now it should be apparent why/how I have become a convert; the sheer amount of control and alerts afforded the parent is priceless in my opinion. Most cellphone companies also have plans on the low end for smartwatches that makes the Spacetalk Adventurer Kids Smart Watch a very affordable solution. Setup is very easy and straightforward. There is no Wi-Fi but I believe the primary use of the device is for monitoring when children are away and possibly in an environment without Wi-Fi. In addition, even if there was Wi-Fi capability, it would/could introduce a layer of stress with regards to making that connection when children were alone.
Both children commented on the “lack” of downloadable apps to which I responded was not the intent of the device. They were excited about the prospect of potentially taking it to school on account of the School Mode feature. During setup, they stated the device was a little warm. The only issue I have run into is with the fitness feature which appears to be behind for capturing the steps when displayed graphically. As an example, it appears to assign the current day’s steps to the previous; month and date also appear impacted. I am positive this can/will be fixed via a software update. Speaking of updates, the notification appears to linger while the update is in progress, leading the parent to question if their initial confirmation to perform the update was actually registered. Again, not a dealbreaker but an observation.
The Spacetalk Adventurer Kids Smart Watch is definitely one of the best out there to provide safe, effective control as children are empowered with the benefits of a cellphone. It appears well-built and has the potential to deliver fun and peace of mind to both parents and children. I highly recommend.

Works on ATT network with included ATT jumpy sim. Plans are on the pricey side at 18.00 a month plus taxes. Im a Sprint customer but on T-mobile network so I cant yet use this on T-mobile till sprint tranfers me over which stinks.
The watch allows you to see real time where your child is at, as well as make calls with the watch, send texts and pictures. Its very big and bulky for a kids smartwa5ch more than my oldests apple watch as well as my samsung watches. The worst part which I dont understand is why do they not make this waterproof instead of water resistant. I mean cmon, this would be a much better watch had it been waterproof.
I give this a solid 4 out of 5 stars, removed 1 star for its lack of waterproof for swimming or showering with it on. The app works fine and allows you to set multiple boundries such as Home, School, Daycare and so on and so on.
My 9 yr old has small wrists and this watchband just barely fits him on the last hole, a smaller band included in the packaging would have been nice.

Stay connected with your kids. It looks a little bulky but I think it is built for it to be durable and bruised up by small kids. It will fit most wrists however smaller wrists it will not look normal. You can have 40 calls text pictures and video messages. I really like the locating ability with GPS technology. No social media is available on this watch. School mode is awesome and it allows for no distractions during school hours. You can create a safe zone on the app meaning the watch alerts the parents when they leave an area that the parents decks designate. With SOS alerts the feature can be set up to alert parents or even call 911. It’s just like other smart watches in that it has a camera and a bright LED screen along with fitness and wellness features. You can find a Watch through the app so it can never get lost. Wristbands are interchangeable so you can be stylish. Small kids age-appropriate will love this watch it says for kids five years old and older I strongly suggest they be at least seven or eight.

The Spacetalk Adventurer has been a neat addition for making my life easier. The parent-friendly watch has a lot of great features that allows me to keep watch without ruining the fun. Below is my assessment of the good and bad concerning this product:
[THE PROS]
Easy Setup: The setup process was relatively simple. I used the included nano SIM card provided and was up and running in about 15 minutes once all registration is completed.
Inexpensive Plan Cost: As of this writing, the entry level data plan with the included JumpySIM was only $18/month which averages out the be the cost of most streaming subscriptions.
Clear Call Quality: When calls were placed, I was able to hear the audio from the watch without much issue.
Feature Packed: My favorite feature thus far has been the geographical alerts. Safety is a growing concern in my home so knowing about all whereabouts is a wonderful feature.
[THE CONS]
Camera quality could be improved: It's nice that a camera was included, but it the picture quality can be subpar. Nevertheless, this is designed for a young age group so they may not care as much.
No games: Kids love shiny things which is what the watch is, but it would be nicer to have had more games. There is a fitness tracker, but there should be some smaller additional things available to keep the young ones entertained.
Need for bigger screen: The current screen is decent in size, but it would be nice for the interface to be bigger. Kids would be able to navigate fine because of their smaller frames, but adults will have a more difficult time.
[THE CONCLUSION]
The SpaceTalk Adventurer is certainly an amazing product with lots of potential. It provides fun and peace of mind which is the biggest benefit.

SET-UP
The Spacetalk Adventurer watch requires a little more technical knowledge to get up and running than most other devices, but it isn’t impossible. The Adventurer includes service provided by JumpySim which rides on the AT&T 4G network. It was a bit of an ordeal to get up and running, but after some trials and tribulations, I was able to get it set-up and activated. Spacetalk has a very good tutorial to assist you in the set-up process, as well as some excellent documentation walking you through the SIM installation and set-up process. Within 30 minutes of SIM installation and powering on the watch, it was registered on the AT&T network and ready for use.
SPACETALK APP
I thought the Spacetalk app was very well designed. I downloaded the app from the Google Play store and was able to install the app and set-up an account with zero fuss or troubles. Excellent work. The app is intuitive and easy to figure out. It is a great way to monitor your little ones, as it includes a lot of unique features. One notable feature was the safe zone. With GPS activated, the watch will notify you when it leaves or enters a pre-defined safe zone. This could be your house, school, grandparents, etc. The app allows you to set multiple safe zones and the parent receives a message anytime the watch enters or leaves a safe zone and which one. Slick.
By default, the app (aka watch) blocks calls and texts from unknown numbers, which I think is a great thing. The parent must go in and manually add numbers that are allowed pass to and from the watch. Not only does this protect your child from getting unwanted calls from potential strangers, but also prevents them from adding friends on their own without your consent.
The school feature is great addition. Using the Spacetalk app, you can control when the phone enters “school mode”. This mode disables most of the features of the watch and keeps the watch from becoming too much of a distraction during school. You can lock it all the way down to just a plain old watch if you want. Once set, this mode starts and stops automatically when you want it to.
USE
Usage is a mixed bag. I find the watch does some things very well and others not so much. But, to be fair to Spacetalk, this applies to everything you buy.
The watch is easy to make calls and do chats with. Super easy, actually. My kid had no issues figuring it out immediately. Audio quality in a quiet environment is quite good and easy to hear. As good as my Galaxy Watch 4. Finding contacts and apps to use on the watch are easy and can be picked up by most kids quickly. The watch seems like a blend of the iOS operating system and Android. Taking cues from both.
The screen is small, as a lot of the available real estate is occupied by the camera and speaker. But the watch does make the most of what little room it does have. While text is small, especially for my aging eyes, it is legible and easily readable in all but the brightest of lights.
The Adventurer comes with all the essential smart watch functions that people have come to expect from their devices. It includes things like heart rate monitoring, weather, step counter, activity monitoring and alerts, and of course, GPS.
The watch charges easily via a magnetic base like the Galaxy Watches. The base “sticks” to the back of the watch to charge it and thankfully uses a USB-C cable. I wish more things did. One thing I dislike about the charging situation is that the magnetic base is not that magnetic. The silicone bands of the watch are thick for durability, but that also limits their flexibility. Because of this, the base does not seem to want to “stick” very well to the watch and without a great deal of caution, often comes loose and stops charging. The battery lasts about a day with average use.
One thing that is not intuitive is the keyboard. Because the screen is so small, Spacetalk is forced to split the keyboard into 2 different screens. This is entirely too cumbersome and annoying to use for any texts other than the simple premade ones. While it isn’t as bad as an old T9 style keyboard, it is annoying in how much you must swipe left and right to type.
CONCLUSIONS
As much as I like the Spacetalk app and what the watch has to offer, there is one thing that kills the deal for my 11 year old. The Spacetalk Adventurer is just too big and bulky. Even though he is on the older side of the scale that Spacetalk has geared the product for (Ages 5 – 12), it just looks ridiculous on his wrist. So much so, that after about a week of use, my boy no longer wants to wear it. I can’t imagine what this would look like on a younger kid. It is so huge that my 46mm Galaxy Watch 4 seems small by comparison.
While there is a lot to like about the watch and the app, I have to rate the product as “Not Recommended” at this time. Should Spacetalk find a way to miniaturize the watch, my decision would most likely change, but right now it is so big, it just looks odd and out of place.

This watch out of the box is fairly large, while designed to go on the wrist of a child from around age 5-11 years. It’s size alone will fill, if not be larger than it should fit to a child’s wrist as it did our child. The bands are formed, in which they hold their curve, but even when placed on our kid’s wrist the watch did not fit right. There are lots of good notes within the manuals, quick instructions, and on their site to provide support on how to setup and get the watch in an operational state. Like how to install the SIM and do it easily. One key note was to remove the one of the bands in which proved how clunky this thing is. Each band sets similar to a fitness focused watch and very hard to remove. Initially it felt as though I broke the band that was closest to the SIM port. The sim port cover is very hard to remove because of the additional seal for waterproofing the watch that I can tell. I ended up using a coin to aide in removal of the cover. Once the new SIM was in, activation was not easy as there’s only a limited number of mobile providers this will work with and geared towards one primary provider “A#&#” network. This is noted, but I wanted to go with the current service provider I have for myself and family. After attempting my provider and another, I finally manually added network settings to the watch’s APN area and a phone call later got the watch online. The interface runs smoothly, but inconvenient when trying to type or do something manually to get the watch activated. Once activated, it’s ported over their app on your mobile device in which you gain control of all of the additional limited settings to provide to the child. It worked great in our area, with exception to other areas where service was not always available to the watch as there was service to my mobile. The watch is limited to 4G and did check that my phone was on a 4G network or lower that the watch is supported by when had service issues. The calls were pretty clear with some issues, service related. I was able to see my child when I wanted to with some delays in updates, may be due to the school at times as my service seems to fall while on campus also. Please note this watch is designed to be used within the US. It did cost me two extra things if would have planned to keep the watch online, but part of the initial cost was covered due to testing through Spacetalk. First, another monthly fee for a phone SIM, and second; an additional monthly fee that ties to their service. Anyone looking to purchase this, would have an initial upfront cost for the device, additional contract or monthly phone plan, a Spacetalk service plan, and then a continued service fee for the SIM provider and Spacetalk. I did a little extra research on this and the company is still up and coming, this seems to be their second kids focused watch while a third is avail for Senior Citizens. The device last about a day, use varying and will last longer than a full day. Charging is where my biggest issue is. The watch has this small little rectangular base to place the watch onto for charging and no notes that it will not be easy to set the watch on top of or on its side to charge using this base. Conveniently, the company sells a base stand for charging the watch…perhaps this should have just been included because trying to let my child place it on the charger to feel like an adult, they struggled just to get it to sit right, as well as I did. Removed the bands and viola; charged fine, but this is not something we want to have to go through each time we need to charge the watch and then return the bands each time we’re ready to use the watch. Overall, the concept is on the right track and will continue to get better in time.

Great Kid Cellphone watch....

First Cellphone type of smart watch for my family to use.
I have had many other fitness trackers and smart watches so I and my family are familiar with different platforms and app interactions with wearables.
Setup was super easy....
Customer service was really nice and helpful. Bobby and Yazmine both who helped me were really helpful and because I screwed up with setting up the Jumpy Sim (I transposed my zip code) which caused the provisioning of the cell phone number and cause for the watch to not connect to the netwrok. So Bobby helped me resolved that. It took a few days but it was fixed.
After that the rest of the setup was finished quickly and we were up and running.
Fitment was good for my kid's super skinny arm.
Appearance was nice. Gray goes well with a lot of things. Size was a little thick but at least you can't miss it.
Battery life is about 1.5 days of full use. Meaning my kid texting and sending me his location, calling, etc. Recharge to 100% took about 2 hours.
Space talk app on Android was easy to use. Tracking and interface was nice. It was well though out. Parental controls are nice. You can block out unknown numbers with calls and texts etc. Settings are nice and easy to mess with.
Calls are clear with Jumpy Sim. $18 unlimited 4G talk and text is great deal. I might stick with it until my kid gets a cell phone. We will see.
Overall pretty happy with this.
Would recommend if you don't want to give your kid a cell. This went to my youngest. My other 2 have full on cells so this is a great 8n between.
On 2 cons. Charger magnet not strong enough. Comes off easy. The other is it does not have a longer IPX rating. Wished it was longer than 30 mins. My kid swims a lot and it is for more than 1 hour. So he can't wear it when he swims. Maybe something Space Talk can improve in the next version.
Good job Space Talk. I would recommend this product.

This watch is amazing!!
He was 9 when I first bought it and we both loved it.
All pros: The app is extremely easy to use. You can set who calls and who he can call.
School mode is great because it shuts down what you want and will turn it back on right on time.
It gives me the exact place where he is at. The address and where its around.
No cons!!
Im so impressed with this watch. It's one of the best investments I made for my son that was being bullied on the bus. You will not regret buying this.
I do suggest buying their standup charger on their website. It was 15 bucks with free shipping it was and extra charger on a stand it works easier than the other one.

Our 6 year old now has a better smart watch than I

Got this for my little brother because the age said 5-12 but once opening and setting the watch up this is far too complex for a 5 year old and he's bright haha. It's got a lot of cool features as to be expected for the price. If you want to send an sms or text message it has a bunch or frequently used messages or quick texts and if those don't fit what you need to send you swipe right and the keyboard is broken down into two screens which is really awkward if trying to type anything. I liked the voice feature better when all you have to do is tap the microphone and it allows you to just record a voice message and send that. It comes with a nice charger that magnetically attaches to the back of the watch to charge.
The biggest issue I have with the watch is the touch screen isn't very responsive and I found myself tapping or touching multiple times and ways just to get the watch to wake up or respond. And if I got frustrated with it I can only imagine a child trying to get it to work. Unlike other smart watches there's no side buttons or anything to go through the menu, it's only through the face that you can access anything.
The app does allow you to do a lot with the phone like changing the face appearance whether you like analog or digital and also allows you to change the wallpaper or background picture to what you prefer.
In call it tended to break up a lot but it could be because of our location too. The voice text messages were nice and clear though.
Overall I think it needs some work as far as buttons on the side for access and working through all of its capabilities. It's a nice watch but for kids I think it's a little bland and they'd prefer a little more styling options.

Lots of features I like, a few glitches. Defintely worth the money (paid $100 on sale, but probably would pay the $200)
Was difficult to set up, and the video calling is exclusive to the single parent account so that is disappointing but all in all, im for the idea of keeping tabs without a phone. In the world we live in today, I truly think the 2 I purchased for my 9 year olds was money well spent
**you will need to pay a monthly fee of $18 per watch and their Jumpy customer service wasnt the best experience-- CUSTOMER SERVICE SPACETALK & JUMPY NOT OPEN ON WEEKENDS, so set up your plan during the week, we had no clue and it was a frustrating weekend. Best Buy cannot help either!!*

This thing is the coolest device for kiddos. My daughter is at the age where she plays outside and has sleepovers with friends and i wanted to ensure that she always has a way to contact me. Walkie talkies can only go so far. Anyways, I am loving it. School mode so its nothing but a normal watch during those hours, it keeps track of steps, heart rate, preset messages if your kiddo cant type well yet, and they can send you feeling updates now with the new system update! When they send how they're feeling it also sends you their heartrate while they were sending it to you. Gps is super accurate, and at any given time you can find where they are and the app would pull up your phones navigation system. No open internet access, only thw weather. All in all incredibly beneficial and the PERFECT first phone for kiddos. Battery life is great, she can wear it all day and its typically still at around 30-40% by the end of the day and charges up in nearly an hour which isn't too shabby for days that we forget to plug it in at night and only have time before school to do so.

I compared this watch to the others, deciding on this. They were too young for smart phones, but we needed to stay in contact when they wanted to play at friends houses. You have to purchase a “phone plan”, and set it up. It’s simple, and inexpensive. The watch allows for ‘contacts only’ to communicate, which made me feel comfortable. It had a GPS tracker, as well. Our kids loved theirs.

Call & Text Work Great

Phone and text work great (video calls are limited to 2mins) and our child loves it. Wears all day and the size of unit does not bother them at all. Good battery life. The only issue we’ve had is that the locator is not always 100% reliable: frequently receive the “could not locate” response and it’s occasionally off by a few streets (ie: watch is here w/ me, but it’ll show itself being 2 blocks away)

We were looking for a product that provided us with GPS, no internet capabilities, has a camera for video chatting with us and most importantly a way of giving our little guy a direct way of contacting us.
