Great watch with plenty of features which allows us to track the location of our son and to stay in contact if/when needed. Easy set up and ability to change features through the Spacetalk app. The charger is the only negative because it doesn't seem to make complete contact all the time.

Great alternative to a phone for a younger kid. My daughter loves hers and feels like a big girl. My mental health is better because I can find/call her when I need to, but I'm also less worried about her losing an expensive phone. The features are great, the calls are clear. My only complaint is I wish the Alarm/memo function had more character space to type. Very happy with my purchase!

My 10-year old daughter loves it; wears it to school daily. Provides only the necessary options to be in touch. No social media distractions possible. Anonymous callers can be blocked from the parental app. Daily charging needed. The 18$ per month cost of having the AT&T connection is justified when you see the ability to be in touch with your kiddo. Great buy.

I love this watch... It's been great to have for my kiddo. I can't text, video call and call. I enjoy the built in custom text or you can add your own. The sos function works. The watch also has the safe zone and school option to cut off the apps. I like the fact there is no Internet. The fitness option my kid likes, and they have added music sounds which are fun to play with. Calendar, calculator, times, clock etc basic. I'm thinking of getting one for myself and father. Pretty cool

This is a great option for someone looking to provide security and functionality for your children. Cell phones are bit much and easy to forget, but this offers very similar functionality on a device that can be worn on the wrist. Spacetalk really thought this through when they designed it and the features are a parenting dream come true. Imagine a watch, phone, fitness, heart rate, texting and camera all in one small footprint with a lot of parental controls. The first thing that impressed me was the ability to set safety zones with precise GPS tracking. In my case, I see the safe zone for a half of a mile around my home. The device alerts me when the child leaves home and arrives home. It also has a school mode so that options can be enabled or disabled during certain hours, such as school time. I love the safety feature where one swipe will enable an emergency dial chain. The device limits calls and messages to only the people you have set up in the contacts portion of the application. There is an option for each contact to designate the person as an emergency contact. If the emergency calling is activated, it dials all contacts that have been designated as emergency contacts. The watch is very easy to navigate with swiping actions. There are a good number of applications included with the watch including calling, texting, chatting with other devices, location, fitness, weather, stopwatch, award stars for chores, camera, photo album, alarm, calendar, calculator, flashlight mode and the ability to create a buddy list. The watch display does turn off to save battery life and is awakened by double tapping on it. Parents are alerted when the watch is turned on and when it is turned off and taken off. Alerts remind parents to charge the watch as well. There is a locate me function built into the application to find your child. This is very informational. The only issue that I see with the watch is the size of it. This is very large for small wrists. It is extremely durable with gorilla glass and the band is high quality with several adjustment holes. It isn’t overly heavy, but it is big. I will want to see if my child continues to wear it because of the size. This is an amazing device from a feature standpoint and if the design could be improved to make it smaller, it would even better yet.

My son wore it to school one day and the wrist band broke. Repair should be covered under warranty but shipping for watch comes out of pocket. The screen has a delayed response and it can be difficult to navigate out of apps

As much as I support the approach of “less tech” when it comes to kids, I seem to always find myself looking for the next-gen technology to help us keep up with them or help please them. iPads, iPhones, etc being given to what I consider babies. Well, here is a product that might be worth the tech investment for any parent – the Spacetalk Adventurer. I’ve always been a person that looks at packaging as a sign of whether the designer/manufacturer cares about their own product as well as the initial impression they make. Spacetalk has boxed the Adventurer very nicely. The box is on the level of premium electronic devices, and the watch is well protected inside. It’s so funny to open the box and find something that is kid-proof in design. Typically, packaging of this caliber reveals a $1k phone that if dropped would crack. The Adventurer is sturdy rubber and plastic at it’s very finest. It has the look and feel of “Try to break me!”. The band has the newer plug-post fastener that does a great job of securing it to the arm. Overall, I really like the design. It could be a tad thinner, but I don’t know the full make-up of the device’s innards. Some of its girth may be contributed to rugged construction. The only thing I would have liked to see differently from a design standpoint is an option for a more secure band. Because it will be worn by a kid, parents need the option to secure it on the level of a house arrest anklet. Sounds like overkill, but kids leave things, take things, lose things incessantly, especially in this age range. They need that little bit of assistance necessary to help prevent such moments. The Adventurer was easy to set up. I used the provided jumpy sim, starting an inexpensive monthly plan that can be paid in advance with discounts. The watch paired with my mobile phone without a hitch, only requiring an update prior to completing the process. Once updated and paired, I was very surprised at the depth of the UI. Man! This thing could be a grown-up’s smart watch! It has apps for chat, weather, fitness, location, stopwatch, etc. – this thing is better than a lot of adult smart watches. After seeing all that’s available in UI, I thought this would be a little much for a 5-year-old, but my little 5-year-old adopted and adapted very quickly. Before I knew it, I had to explain to him why you don’t need to call us repeatedly. Because he has used an iPad, he has a general understanding of most of the app icons on the Adventurer. It really took little effort and time to get him up to speed on making and receiving calls. In my opinion, that is the most important functionality of this device, along with its GPS capabilities. You can keep up with your kid and communicate with them at an instant. Add to that the heart rate monitor and fitness tracker, and you have quite a bit of data giving you insight to your kid’s activity. From a performance standpoint, the Adventurer surprised me. It performs well in all intended areas. The call quality is clear and loud. The camera is up to the task of quick photos and videos. The touch screen is bright, has good clarity, and is responsive. The app is easy to install and performs each task, including monitoring, very well. Add to this the approach from Spacetalk channeled through a thoughtful UI experience, and you have something special. Things like emergency dialing preset to dial specified contacts quickly and limiting communication on the watch to designated contacts. You have School Mode and real-time weather of your kid’s location. Push messaging and control over your kid's ability to message via free-text (keyboard) or pre-defined responses… just all cool and useful. There is not much to dislike about the Spacetalk Adventurer. It aims, shoots, and scores from my vantage point. If you want to keep up with your elementary aged kid, giving them communication and media capture abilities, this works like a charm. Throw in there the level of control and data you have over/from the device as a parent, and you really have something special. It’s ruggedly designed and looks as if it will take the beating most kids will dish out… we shall see. Definitely the device you need if you are looking to fill any of the needs mentioned.
