For the older folks who loved 64, this is either a nostalgic romp fully realized, or a remake that doesn't do enough to justify it's run time or price. For newer folks, it's a fantastic entry point to Star Fox if you are okay with the intention of high replayability. What I end up liking about the game is the larger scope in story telling when it comes to contextualizing why our band of mercenaries might choose to move through the lylat system the way you do in game. The game runs smooth and looks beautiful. The music is brought to a more cinematic and orchestrated life. The biggest cons one might have probably have to do with price in conjunction with the games short run time. If you are in it for a single run and done, then you won't like this game. Nit picks might have to do with original voice acting changes from 64 and how they depart from a more campy Saturday morning cartoon vibe to the more serious tones the realistic anthropomorphized characters bring to it's feel. At the end of the day, as a nostalgic baited 30 year old...this ROCKS!

This game is a remake of Starfox 64, but they’ve added extra things like Challenges and an online Battle Mode. I didn’t play much Starfox 64, so I went into this game not knowing much. I absolutely LOVE it. However, it all depends on what you’re looking for. This is an arcade on-rails shooter. To complete the main story (there are multiple endings, as well), it’ll take you maybe an hour or so. But the real fun is in replaying missions, getting medals, unlocking new paths, and completing challenges. If you want only story, I’d suggest looking elsewhere. But if you want story combined with excellent gameplay mechanics and many tasks to complete, this will offer a great time.

It's a great remake, with beautiful graphics while maintaining the essence of the original.

There's not much that needs to be said about this remake of the classic Star Fox 64. The graphics are goegeous. The controls are really tight and intuitive. And following multiple paths on subsequent replays is a blast, along with a fun multiplayer component. I'd recommend this game for legacy fans as well as new players.

They absolutely nailed this remake of Star Fox 64. Especially if you enjoyed the original game, you owe it to yourself to give this remake a shot. Performance is a consistent 60fps, replay ability is even higher than it was on the original game, and the controls function terrifically.

I enjoyed myself. Star Fox is one of the most replayable video games of all time and a personal favorite of mine. This game fleshes out the characters and the graphics are beautiful. But after getting all medals and routes in Normal difficulty, it's hard to play it, yet again, for hard difficulty. If you haven't played Star Fox before, play it. But if you are a veteran of the franchise, yeah you already know what this is. I bought this to support a franchise that's desparate for NEW content.

Star Fox for the Nintendo Switch 2 stays true to the classic game, but what they add are fantastic cut scenes between missions so you have more context about what is happening, and some fun character development. The controls are smooth, graphics are great. Whether you're a long time fan of Star Fox, or just curious, I'd recommend this for anyone.

I was somewhat disappointed when Nintendo announced a remake instead of a new story. But it is a great remake, the characters are fleshed out, and the game looks beautiful. I do miss some of the over the top deliveries in some of the characters though from the old game. But that is a nitpick.

Everything that was amazing about the original game is still there and then on top of that, they have added modern cutscenes and interactions between the original Characters. There are a few updated modes that are interesting to try as well. All in all, highly recommended.

This is exactly what a remake should be. Gameplay is fast and responsive like the original for the N64. Every aspect of it is a modern upgrade. The visual overhaul is absolutely gorgeous on the Switch 2, soundtrack is of course amazing, and the added cutscenes are all excellent and a welcome edition. I do miss some of the classic dialogue, but the re-worked dialogue is good. The revamped characters are also fun and memorable with some talented artistry, animation, and voice acting. I especially appreciate the branching paths and replayability, much like the original. The added multiplayer and online matchmaking was a pleasant surprise, and I am loving it! The game feels nostalgic and fresh at the same time, and I feel the creators really respected the long-time players with what they've given us. It makes me very excited to see what's to come! Looking very much forward to new installments in this series!

Played it several hours last night and its really amazing. Graphics look good and controls feels like the orginal. I pre-ordered through BestBuy and it was a simple process. Got an email saying it was ready for pick up and was in and out of the store quickly. Staff were professional as well.

If you played this game as a kid you will remember everything. The graphics on this game are just phenomenal and the stages are to remember. The game focuses on missions to complete with ending of the big bosses.

They did a really good job of retelling the story of Star Fox 64 and the stages are beautiful. I just wish I could adjust the contrast so I could see better in the spacs stages

The graphics are beautifully done and my kids are enjoying playing it for the 1st time. I played the original and loved it then and love it now. I would have given this 5 stars if Nintendo added more additional content. Felt like a missed opportunity and the game development got lazy.

Upgraded visuals, but also supports multiplayer modes. It has a co op, and vs modes. There’s challenge modes, and a story mode too. Pretty good.

If you are a fan of Star Fox on the N64, you'll be a fan of this remake The care the development team had to make it just like the N64 one with a few new twists like the in between level cutscenes. The voice acting the small little prequel video. It's just N64 with modern day graphics. The only thing it's missing is an N64 controller, but that's probably somewhere you can buy that for the switch 2

Maybe it’s the nostalgia, but man this game is just good fun! I only played the N64 version prior so this remake was wonderful for me. Expert mode has been challenging yet incredibly fun to try and beat my high scores. The new designs or the boss voice acting might not hit the same for you. However, it’s exciting to play this timeless classic again with a beautiful and smooth set of pain.

Great Great for the switch 2. Amazing Cutscenes, and love the co-op.

I was surprised by how faithful this game was, following a guide for the n64 game is sufficient to beat this one, which is kind of insane for a remake. The graphics in docked play are absolutely stunning and beautiful. In handheld mode it can be a bit blurry but I don't know if that's the resolution the game is outputting or if it's the quality of the screen.

I definitely feel that this new version of the classic fans love gives more than it ever has before, both in look and in lore. The graphics are better than ever before, and the added cutscenes and tons of unlockable data to read through adds more depth to the story than previous versions. Definitely one to enjoy with the friends in multiplayer as well.
