I've been trying to decide on whether or not to install cameras at my house for a while now, but when a friend had a package stolen off their porch over Christmas, that finally tipped the scales. Install was easy, just mount the cameras, run the wires, plug them in, and the wizard will walk you through the rest. So far, the cameras work very well. I do have one that goes black for a split second (it may be switching between day and night vision due to an outside light) and sends a "motion alert" on occasion. The only complaint is that I wish you could remotely access the system from a computer so you could make changes to the programming. I work away from home and I have motion alerts set up for the night time. So, when it rains, my email is blowing up all night. Be nice to turn the alerts off remotely when that happens. Other than that, great system so far!

If you are like me who wants to keep an eye on things this system is easy to use and practical. We did tons of research online from Arlo wireless cameras, Nest hardware cameras, to Ring self charging solar cameras. All of them had their pros and cons, but more cons than anything. Honestly, I was looking for what many consumers look for, something of quality, fairly priced, large memory, and network accessible. I found all that with this unit and best part is that it is not so hard to install. I would say for anyone with handyman experiences for drilling holes and running cable through the attic should be able to get this done in 1 day. Once it is installed you will have a peace of mind that you can monitor your home at anytime. Good luck!

Had this installed for 2 years. The only issue I ever had was 1 camera going bad and having to be replaced but other than that, it worked perfectly. The email alerts were great!

I bought this system after 2 car break-ins in my driveway. I wanted affordable cameras with high resolution and night vision. This system works well. It was fairly easy to setup though the software can be a bit confusing. Swann has several versions of their systems that use a variety of software so it can be a chore to find exactly what you need for manuals and downloads. The PC software HomeSafe View works great. The controls are intuitive and I can view my panel of cameras from any PC on my network. I was also able to create a free DDNS account with Swann allowing for access outside my network after forwarding a few ports in my router to the system and setting a static IP on the DVR. The phone app was easy to setup but sometimes I have to close it down, enter the settings menu and skip through all the settings and save before it will re-establish connection. This could use some polishing. The web interface only works on legacy internet explorer. I've tried Chrome, Firefox and Edge which all say you need a plug-in though they still fail after plug-in is installed. Once I got a shortcut setup on my desktop that opens the address in IE I was pleased to see the robust menus through the web interface. They differ slightly from what you see directly on the DVR. Overall after some tweaking and learning I have a full property view with motion recording that will catch those little buggers if they rifle through my truck again. At $329.99 on sale it was a steal.

Purchased these cameras when on sale in January this year. Set a few up in the house to monitor an elderly parent when we aren’t home. Set up was extremely easy. Picture is awesome, even the night vision. Setting up the apps on our mobile phones was a breeze. Can’t wait to get them set up outside as well. Would highly recommend.

These cameras do not capture the movement you want. They capture every snowflake and bug close up but not the stuff that actually matters. My photo is from my cell phone catching a very clearly seen fox on my driveway. None of my 5 swaan cameras caught this fox. Don't waste your money.

Awesome cameras with really great picture quality! I caught them on sale just after Black Friday and for the price they can’t be beat. Super easy setup after just a few hours I had a couple cameras up and recording with no issues! Glad that I have the since of security knowing I can check in on things when I want but also be alerted by movement on the cameras.

Great purchase for the amount spent. Comes with 8 cameras which was more than enough. Very easy to install! I installed half of the cameras in one afternoon. The night quality is great! This is my first camera system and I am very impressed!

We really were looking for a great camera for outdoors and indoor. I read other reviews and decided to go with this one. We use to have a Q-see, and customer service was horrible and we could never get the cameras working the way they were meant for. We love this system because we can see on our phones and do playbacks.

This camera system comes with 8 cameras and each with 65 feet of cord. I hooked only 1 up as of now because I'm waiting for it to get a bit cooler to enter the attack. the one camera has great quality at night as well as during day light. For the price, quality and amount of camera coverage I would recommend this product to everyone. This fits my everyday need.

Easy to install , great picture. This was our first and know it will be our last as we love all the features it has

Camera system is easy to set up, hardest part is getting the cables run in the attic and out of the house. Software to view online works much better on the I -Pad vs the PC. Camera sensitivity couls be a little better objects have be close to the building to trigger Recording. Overall it is a good system for the money.
