Customer Ratings & Reviews

I’ve been a Nintendo fan for years, and I owned the original Switch since day one — but wow, the Switch 2 genuinely impressed me. The performance boost is noticeable right out of the box. Games load so much faster, and everything just feels smoother — especially older titles I already owned. It’s like they got a second life. The screen is brighter, bigger, and much clearer than before. I’ve been playing in handheld mode a lot more than I thought I would, just because it looks so good. Even though it’s not OLED, it still looks amazing. The new Joy-Cons also feel more solid, and the improved attachment system makes a difference — no more slight wiggle when docked. What I love most is how seamless the upgrade has been. I didn’t have to give up my library, and in fact, a lot of the games play even better on this hardware. It feels like Nintendo finally nailed the balance between fun, portability, and power. Battery life isn’t perfect — I get around 4-6 hours depending on the game — but it’s manageable. That’s honestly my only real complaint, and it’s a small one considering everything else this system gets right. If you’re on the fence, I’d say go for it. Whether you’re upgrading from the original Switch or getting into Nintendo gaming for the first time, this system is more than worth it. Zero regrets.

Lets move past the fact that your last gen games load much faster and play with better performance and get to how great Switch 2 games are. Mario Kart World is addicting and CyberPunk 2077 is fantastic docked and undocked, with undocked making it hard to put away. Indie games get the same uplift across the board also. Im coming from the OLED and havent been back. The Switch 2 screen is amazing and makes it very hard to go back to the OLED due resolution difference. Its lighter than the other handhelds that arent from Nintendo by far. CONS: It will get hot in the dock if tou use ethernet for some reason. Unplug it, or change ethernet settings, and its no longer an issue. This is a work around however and needs a true resolution. People say the battery life is horrible. I find battery performs same as ROG Ally. Ill be getting my AAA games here and forgoing tweaks for gameplay on the go. Mario and team play best here!

Nintendo's successor to the Switch maintains the core design that revolutionized the console and handheld gaming scene (even influencing the PC gaming scene, seen in the advent of the handheld gaming PCs that are becoming more popular across the market), with upgraded hardware that allows for more complex and more demanding games than it's predecessor could handle. Players will easily be able to swap from Docked Mode, playing on TV as a traditional console, to handheld mode (playing like a traditional handheld) by simply pulling the device out of the dock. The new joycon design also makes it easier than ever to attach and detach the device's default controllers, with a magnetic latch and a simple button release that allows users to simply pull the controllers off the device instead of needing to align the rails that were the alignment mechanism for the original switch. This allows for more secure attachment of the controllers while also reducing risk of damage when removing the controllers (or through rough handling of the device). Nintendo has added more quality of life features to the system's operating system; users will now find they cna more easily share their screen recordings and screen caps than on the original switch, able to send them to a Switch App on their phone when they can't readily connect the device to a computer or remove the SD Card to get their clips. The new game share feature as well allows compatible multiplayer games to be shared locally with other players without owning the game, streaming the game off the host Switch 2 to other client Switch 2s or even the original Switch, which is perfect for households who still own the original and have multiple players in the home who enjoy co-op and competitive gaming together. Nintendo also ads a discord-esque GameChat service, allowing the user to chat with friends on their friends list (it is, notably, limited to just those people you have friended, so no randos will intrude into your chat-enabled multiplayer sessions). As well, the advancement in processing now allows the Switch 2 to emulate Nintendo GameCube games, delivered as a part of the Nintendo Switch Online+Expansion Pack subscription service, with new games being added regularly, which at time of review includes beloved classics like Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, F-Zero GX and Chibi Robo. This SKU of the Switch presently includes Mario Kart World as a pack in game, delivered as a digital edition from the Nintendo eShop, effectively discounted $30 than it would cost buying the game separately. If that's appealing, you should buy this sooner than later, as it will be phased out this November in favor of an SKU that packs in the upcoming Pokemon Legends Z-A for the same price point (albeit Z-A being cheaper stand alone than Mario Kart). In addition, through a mix of hardware and software solutions, Nintendo has maintained backwards compatibility with games found on the Switch, allowing users to port their games over to the new console. Some games already see a performance boost by default thanks to the improved hardware, while others have additional upgrades to take better advantage of the improved specs of the Switch 2. All in all, the Switch 2 is a worthy successor to the Switch, iterating on its industry revolutionizing design and form factor, while carrying the company and its offerings forward into the future. Already having sold gangbusters, expect companies, including Capcom with next year's Resident Evil Requiem, to happily support this console throughout this generation. Note that some games may require you to pair original switch joycons for full feature compliance due to changes between the controllers (primarily the removal of the Joycon's IR Port from the Joycon 2s). After much anticipation, I finally have my hands on the Nintendo Switch 2, and my initial impressions after purchasing it from Best Buy are overwhelmingly positive. The entire experience, from the seamless online ordering process to the exhilarating first few weeks of gameplay, has solidified my belief that Nintendo has delivered a truly worthy successor to its beloved hybrid console. The upgrade is immediately noticeable right out of the box. The larger, more vibrant screen is the first thing that catches the eye. While not an OLED, the quality of the LCD is impressive, offering a significant step up in visual fidelity for both new titles and existing Switch games that benefit from the enhanced hardware. Games I've revisited, like The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, feel refreshed with smoother frame rates and improved load times. The redesigned Joy-Cons are another highlight. They feel more robust and comfortable in hand, a welcome improvement for longer play sessions. The satisfying click of the new shoulder buttons and the improved ergonomics make a tangible difference in gameplay. In terms of performance, the Switch 2 is a powerhouse. I've been diving into some of the launch titles, and the graphical leap is evident. The ability to play games in a stable, higher resolution, especially when docked to my 4K TV, is a game-changer. The performance boost isn't just about looks; it translates to a more immersive and seamless gaming experience. Of course, no console is without its trade-offs. The most notable is the battery life, which, while not a deal-breaker for my typical usage, is something to be mindful of for extended on-the-go gaming sessions. This is a small price to pay for the significant performance gains, but prospective buyers who primarily play in handheld mode should consider investing in a portable power bank. My purchasing experience at Best Buy was straightforward and efficient. The console was well-stocked, and the in-store pickup was quick and hassle-free. The staff were knowledgeable and shared in the excitement of the new console launch. Overall, my recent purchase of the Nintendo Switch 2 from Best Buy has been a fantastic experience. It's a thoughtfully designed and powerful console that successfully builds upon the foundation of its predecessor. While the battery life could be better, the significant improvements in performance, screen quality, and controller comfort make it a must-have for any serious Nintendo fan and a compelling entry point for newcomers to the ecosystem. If you've been on the fence, I can confidently say that the Nintendo Switch 2 is a worthwhile investment that will provide countless hours of gaming enjoyment.

The Switch 2 is Nintendo's latest entry into the console market and is priced decently for its performance and features. This console is larger than the original Switch, with a screen built to match. While the LCD is brighter, more vibrant, and has a much higher refresh rate than the original, I do wish they had released it with an OLED screen. Once you get used to the deep blacks produced by an OLED, it's hard to go back to other panel types. The Switch 2 is also slightly heavier than the original Switch. The upgraded processor allows games to run faster and with better quality compared to the original Switch. It does feature VRR (variable refresh rate) support. Additionally, it supports 1440p (up to 120hz) and 4K (60hz) displays in docked mode. Games that are Switch 2-specific or have Switch 2 upgrades run noticeably better. The magnetic Joy-Cons are a welcome change from the rail-based Joy-Cons of the original Switch. A simple button at the top acts as a lever, pushing the Joy-Con out slightly and allowing you to easily detach it by pulling it away from the console. The new Joy-Cons also have sensors that allow them to function as a mouse. However, I would not recommend using either of them as a mouse. They are awkward and incredibly unergonomic when not used as a controller. The console comes with 256GB of built-in storage, which is enough to comfortably hold a dozen or so Nintendo titles and smaller games. However, if you use this console to play third-party games, you will likely need to buy a microSD Express card to expand storage. Overall, I think this console will age better than the original Switch. Both the console and its Joy-Cons feel sturdier than the original Switch, and its performance should keep up with newer titles fairly well. However, access to the latest games from Nintendo-specific franchises was the main driver for my purchase.

The Switch 2 is a massive upgrade from the Switch. At just $450 there is not other handheld gaming device that matches the Switch 2’s performance. The Joycon 2s are much better, the buttons and sticks feel much better, they’re much smoother. The screen is also good. The performance increases considerably when docked. I was a bit worried about how it would look with dlss but unless dlss in PC games the dlss on the Switch 2 is not noticeable. The dlss looks so good that it looks native. The only downside is the battery life, playing Mario Kart World I only get around 3 hours, which is around the same as PC handhelds but it is less than the Switch OLED. The performance tradeoff is more than worth it though.

I have to admit before buying the switch 2 i waffled on it a lot. I wasnt sure if it woud be worth it and i hesitated. Mind you i have a gen 1 switch that i got when the switch first came out. But i knew with some of the games coming up i would want to play them and took the risk. I am SO glad i did! This is a massive upgrade and i coulsnt be happier. It runs well, the screen quality is so much better, and i am actually using it again! Its also light and i love the functionality to use joy cons as mice. I was hesitant with the new joy con attachment style but i am so so happy with it! If you are on the fence i say go for it!

The switch 2 seems to be a nice upgrade from the original. I think the biggest drawbacks are battery life and heat buildup aren’t great off the docking station. Also, the docking station feels flimsy compared to the original. Otherwise, it’s a solid and games look great and load faster. I would make the purchase if you want a bigger screen or more vibrant colors, but otherwise, stick with the original.

I was not expecting to purchase a Switch 2 at launch due to a lack of exclusive titles, but I was persuaded to avoid future price fluctuations by picking one up early and I'm pretty satisfied with my purchase. The Switch 2 is a worthy successor to the Switch 1 with enhanced Joy-Con controllers, better performance in most games (including the best portable experiences for Cyberpunk 2077 and Resident Evil Requiem), and now a handful of really great exclusive titles like Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza, and Pokémon Pokopia. I believe its price point is a bit steep even with a bundled game, and the built-in display of the handheld is on the cheap side compared to the rest of the premium-feeling hardware. The internal storage capacity is also paltry. But the other upgrades more than outweigh those negatives for me. I would recommend the Switch 2 for anyone who enjoyed the original Switch and would like a reliable, performant handheld game console.

The switch 2 definitely feels better than my OLED switch. I think the loading screens are faster, the larger screen is nice, and it feels good playing handheld. The graphics improvement were noticeable and I liked that. The battery life feels like it doesn’t last as long as my OLED switch did, but that is okay because the extra charging port on top of the switch 2 makes it easier to play handheld while simultaneously being charged. My only issue with the Switch 2 was the price tag. Other than that I think it is a solid device and majority of people willing to purchase one will enjoy it as much as they did with previous devices.

The Switch 2 is a significant leap forward from its predecessor. With a sleek, premium design combining metal and plastic, it feels like a high-end device. The new magnetic Joy-Cons are a standout feature—more durable and satisfying to use than the original slide-on rails1. Performance-wise, the Switch 2 sits comfortably between the PS4 Pro and Xbox Series S, offering faster load times, improved graphics, and smoother gameplay. The OLED+ display is vibrant, and adaptive haptics add a tactile layer to gaming1. Backwards compatibility is a huge win, allowing players to transfer and upgrade their existing library. However, some users noted minor issues like heating in docked mode with Ethernet and a less effective cooling system in the dock1.

The Nintendo Switch 2 has been a slam dunk for our family gaming setup. It’s a big leap over the original Switch, nailing everything we want for game nights and my own sessions in 2025. The 8-inch LCD screen is a beauty—vibrant colors, sharp details, whether I’m tearing through Mario Kart World tracks or duking it out in Super Mario Party Jamboree with the kids. The new processor (likely NVIDIA’s T239) keeps things buttery smooth—fast loads, zero lag, even in hectic Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury moments. Donkey Kong Bananza is a ton of fun too, with its wild underground smashing and co-op antics, but every game we play just pops on this thing. The hybrid design’s still a winner. I can play handheld on the couch, take it on the road, or dock it to our 4K TV for family battles, no sweat. Battery life’s solid for casual play—around 4–6 hours on average—but demanding stuff like Donkey Kong Bananza or Mario Kart World pulls closer to 2–3 hours in handheld, so I keep a portable charger handy during longer sessions. The redesigned Joy-Cons feel durable, no drift so far, and the magnetic attachments make swapping them for multiplayer a breeze. Audio’s crisp and punchy, giving Mario Kart World’s soundtrack and Super Mario Party Jamboree’s wild sound effects some serious life. Backward compatibility’s a lifesaver—our whole Switch library works flawlessly, so we’re not rebuying favorites. Online play’s noticeably quicker for Mario Kart World lobbies, but Nintendo’s still lagging on voice chat and social features, which is a bit of a bummer. The dock supports 4K output, and I’m betting on Wi-Fi 6E under the hood for faster updates and connectivity down the line. The price—probably $450 or more—stings, but the performance and versatility make it worth it for a console that’ll keep up with both my gaming and the kids’ chaos. It’s powerful, polished, and perfect for our mix of solo and family play. If you want a system that delivers for everyone in the house, the Switch 2’s the real deal.

I’ve been using the Nintendo Switch 2 for a little while now, and overall I’m really impressed with the experience. One of the first things I noticed was how smooth and responsive everything feels compared to my previous system. Games load faster, and the performance feels much more consistent, especially during longer play sessions. The display looks great and makes handheld gaming much more enjoyable. Colors are vibrant and the screen is bright enough to play comfortably in different lighting conditions. Whether I’m playing at home or on the go, the system feels solid and well designed. I also like how easy it is to switch between handheld and docked play. It still has that flexibility that made the original Switch so convenient, but everything feels more refined and polished this time around. Battery life has been good for my typical play sessions, and the controls feel comfortable even during longer gaming sessions. The system itself feels sturdy and well built. Overall, my experience with the Switch 2 has been very positive. It keeps everything that made the original system fun while improving performance and usability. If you enjoy versatile gaming that works both at home and on the go, this system delivers a great experience.

The performance was very good especially, the 4K resolution but also the portability and the screen size is perfect for hauling around on trips and other places as well! As a owner of the Switch 1, this is an amazing upgrade from that.

As a lifelong Nintendo fanboy, I grabbed the Nintendo Switch 2 bundle with Mario Kart World ($500, console alone $450, game $80) on September 9, 2025, and it’s transformed my life! The Switch 2’s 8-inch OLED screen bursts with color, and the magnetic Joy-Con 2s snap on flawlessly, with slick motion controls and 4-6 hour battery life. It’s a beast—4K docked, 60fps handheld, and backwards compatible. Yeah, it’s a tad heavy (1.2 lbs), but the polish is unreal. Mario Kart World is perfection! 50+ characters, 96 tracks (new and remixed), and an open-world hub make every race a thrill. Drifting’s tight, online supports 24 players, and local multiplayer has my friends and me cackling over blue-shell mayhem. Pricey standalone, but the bundle’s a bargain. Since getting it, I’ve ditched my work-from-home slump. Late-night races, portable play on walks, and epic kart nights have me grinning ear-to-ear and reconnecting with buddies. I even joined a local Nintendo crew! The Switch 2 is my happy place—Nintendo, you’re legends. Verdict: 9.5/10 – Every Nintendo lover needs this

Don't even use it until you have a screen protector installed. I was really enjoying Mario Kart and playing my OG switch games and then Donkey Kong came out. This game by itself is worth getting a Switch 2. I love the bigger screen and it seems to have pretty good performance. I am sure they have another Zelda up their sleeve which will be awesome. I never had an OLED switch so I can't compare screens and I never play in handheld so long that battery life is a problem but being able to just grab it and play anywhere is a huge plus. The magnetic joycons are a great idea and work really well.

We were big fans of the original Switch. Always thought it was a great concept to have a hybrid handheld device. But the Switch 2 takes it to the next level. Impressive screen size for handheld mode and beefier visual settings for docked mode make this something to behold. Also, it’s great that you can still play Switch 1 games on it and some of those games even have quality improvements. Nintendo did really well with this hardware! And Mario Kart World is an absolute blast!

The Nintendo Switch 2 has been an instant hit in our house. I enjoy it, my son enjoys it, and somehow Nintendo found a way to make something familiar feel fresh again. The screen looks great, the system feels smoother, and it still has that easy pick up and play magic that makes the Switch special. It is one of those purchases where you realize pretty quickly that it is not just another console. It is family time, solo time, travel time, and “just one more game” time all in one.

This is perfect for people that don’t always have time to play video games. You can play wherever you want or as long as you can. The screen looks amazing, and the design and quality makes the Switch 1 look like a toy. The battery life is not the best, but it depends on the games you play and how demanding the graphics are. Kickstand is way better than the Switch 1. 256GB of storage is a nice upgrade from the original 32GB.

The Nintendo Switch 2 paired with the Mario Kart World bundle is an excellent package, whether you’re upgrading from the original Switch or jumping into Nintendo for the first time. The console feels like a true evolution—faster performance, smoother gameplay, and noticeably improved visuals both in handheld and docked modes. Load times are shorter, games run more consistently, and the overall system feels more responsive. The screen quality is a big step up in handheld mode, making long play sessions much more enjoyable. Mario Kart World is a perfect showcase for the Switch 2. The game looks great, runs smoothly, and delivers the fun, competitive experience the series is known for. It’s easy to pick up, great for multiplayer, and ideal for playing with friends or family right out of the box. Overall, this bundle offers excellent value. You get a powerful new console and one of Nintendo’s most enjoyable games in a single package. Highly recommended for gamers of all ages.
