The Godfather is a great movie, but this 4k transfer is very impressive. According to Paramount, 300+ cartons of film were analyzed to get the perfect picture for each frame of the nearly 3 hour movie. And another 4000 hours and 1000 hours to remove flaws from the (now very) old film and the color corrections respectively. No wonder it looks so great. Older movies in general look way better in 4k than newer movies in general which are mostly shot digitally. Because movies shot on 35mm and 70mm film have more detail than stuff shot on 2k/4k like these days. The In many scenes, this is made very clear, particularly the landscapes of Sicily in the second act. I also like the black levels in some scenes. A lot of movies have raised blacks that result in a more "greyish" look, but I'm happy that there are close to perfect blacks in many scenes, which really makes the picture pop.

Arrived in great condition and in slipcover! This is a first watch for me and I am glad to get the 4k format!

Great film and excellent 4k transfer and got it for cheap when they still had 4ks for Black Friday miss Best Buy so much.

Great transfer to 4K for a movie this old must have if you fan of the triology

An absolute classic that looks even better in 4k. Obviously, this isn't a review of the movie itself, but the new scan has only added to the drama. An authentic amount of grain is retained in this disk, and yet they've managed to clean up some of the dimmer scenes. I will say, your mileage will vary depending on the hardware you're using.

I didnt think the Godfather could look any better than the blu tay restoration, but they wrre able to clean it up even further. This is definitely the best it will get (based on comments from those who restored it)- theres no more to gain, so of 8k ever comes a thing the Godfather wont get better.

A classic, beautiful in 4k. I bought this and part 2 at the same time and both are still nearly perfect movies. Came with the 4k disc and a digital copy. A little sad to lose the dvd/blu-ray that used to be included in these but I can't remember the last time I used a DVD or regular blu ray anyway.

There isn't much to say about The Godfather that hasn't been said before. It's one of the best movies of all time and it looks great in 4k. I played my standard DVD and it's wild the difference in quality. Highly recommend the 4k version

very good clarity but a little too bright at night for my eyes, so I just manually turned the brightness down. In the darker scenes in the movie, I would just have to adjust brightness. A bright room probably would do the 4K quality proud.

Get this when it's on sale for $10 or less. Otherwise I'd just watch it on Paramount+.

First time I got to ever see this in 4K absolutely stunning got it on Black Friday. What a great movie and a great deal always at Best Buy.
