Not as funny as I remembered from the '80s, but still entertaining.

What makes The Sure Thing a good film and worth purchasing is the ability to rewatch many times over. Some great films (Requiem for a Dream is the first that comes to mind) are made superbly and you love them, but you just don't feel like watching them ever again after the first time. I will say that The Sure Thing is not a great movie. You may be dissapointed the first time you watch it, but each time you watch it the quality does not seem to diminish and it does not seem to get old. I own a lot of movies, and though it is nowhere near the best one I own, I have probably watched it the most times. The movie is worth the purchase because every few months you will watch it and be entertained.

I was very enthusiastic upon this viewing this film, thinking it would be good. Well, it wasn't, but the dvd presentation is, and the nice bonus features will most likely be enjoyed and appreciated by those who liked the film.
