Good drive with one caveat

I have only been using this drive for a month or so. It works fine backing up my data. I have a new Lenovo laptop with Win 10 and this is the only external hard drive I have that will not allow itself to be ejected properly. It always says it is in use.
I have used all the windows resources to try and identify what is running in the background that will not allow it to be removed but have been unsuccessful. I tried using different usb ports.... no change. I also downloaded several utilities for that specific purpose but they claim no "handles" are in use so there is no task to end.
So, for me, the only thing is to reboot to remove it so I don't risk the chance of disconnecting while it is writing and possibly corrupt all the data I have backed up. I've been searching various websites for a solution but nothing so far. This is very inconvenient if you use the drive frequently.
So, in summary, I like the drive but not the inability to disconnect it without rebooting. This could be the result of a personal configuration with Windows 10 or this specific laptop but this problem does not occur with any of my other external drives (passports and fantoms) Only this Toshiba model. For that reason, I only give it three stars.

Great for XBox One!

I went against my initial instinct of buying a drive with external power. I wanted to save space around the console - glad I did! The Xbox recognized it right away, walked through reformatting, and super easy transfer of games and apps. I can't tell the difference between games that are on the internal or external hard drives. I have only had it about a week, but so far so good! It's really small, I just have it sitting behind the console.

A must have for anyone with an Xbox One

Honestly, the memory capacity that comes with the Xbox One sucks. Download several games and it will be maxed out in no time. I got this as a Christmas gift (by my own suggestion) from my wife and it's great. Plug it in and its ready to go and having 2tb is super nice knowing you can put alot in this without worry of filling it up too quickly. It loads fast and the best part is it's usb powered so there are no power cords to plug into the wall and cause more cord clutter. I highly recommend it.

This is great inexpensive storage. Occasionally it makes a bit of noise (kind of clicking) but if you eject and plug back in the noise goes away.

Lots of Space for the Price

It's a little bigger than my last portable drive, but with twice the storage space, that's fine with me. Especially for the price. It's hard to gauge much more than that without having owned it longer, but it works just as expected.

It might work

It might work but I have no way of knowing. The software which I am guessing would be used for backup (NTI) says it is incompatible with Windows 7 and directs me to the product website. From there I have the option to buy the software but I have no way of knowing if this will allow me to back up my files. Downloading the Canvio Home software takes me to a login screen that I can't log into. And to top it off their helpline has been disconnected. Run far away from this product there is no software or support to run this thing
