So far so good

My previous laptop was a 17" Toshiba and while it did the job I was not necessarily fond of it and it did not age well. Many, many little issues that equaled a big hassle of a laptop.
Against my original thoughts, I went with another Toshiba due to the knowledge and praise from the customer associate at Best Buy. To my astonishment so far so good. The 14" screen is perfect for mobility, and makes for a lighter product than the 15.6" or 17" (which is too large for portable convenience. The 11" was too small means I plan on this being a office laptop.
Everything so far is quick, sharp, updates nicely. It very readily takes docs from a thumb drive from my old laptop with great ease. My only downfall towards it is it has a very sensitive keypad, which is quite frustrating if my wireless mouse is not readily available.
I'm also still getting use to not having a rom-drive, but I was assured that a usb ported rom drive works well and can do the job just the same as if it were installed.
I do not plan on using this as a tablet, but if the situation arises, I can see it being a very nice perk.

The computer is very flexible and versatile. From using it as a laptop to a tablet, i had no problem. The Windows 10 is so much more easier to use than windows 8. I love the fact that it is a touch screen which leads to a lot more capabilities. And mutitasking on this processor isn't much of a problem. The only issue is where you rest your wrists, it can be very uncomfortable while typing.

Purchased for my 13 yr old daughter as a birthday gift for her school work. Touch screen and the ability to make into tablet increased the likelihood that the laptop would be used for everything. Windows 10 seems to work fine, and not too much bloatware on the system. Definitely look for a laptop with 8 MB+ RAM and Toshiba is a good brand that we have used before.

I really like the touch screen and tablet like features. It is very versatile, has great quality, and I'm glad the sales person explained the durability which was a step up from what I intended to buy. I'm very happy with my purchase. I think the operating system, Windows 10, still needs some bugs worked out but I think that is to be expected from a new OP.

It's a great laptop, lite in weight, comes with windows 10, its small enough but big enough to handle large jobs. The touch screen is a breeze to work with and so responsive. I would recommend this computer to my friends.

I have bought 5 of these and they are a good size, fast, affordable 2 in 1. The first one I bought I carry all the time in my work truck and some how broke the digitizer glass so if you plan any type of rough service you might want to consider a non touch screen. Other than that I am very pleased with the service.

Great Laptop for Students

I'm a student and this computer is perfect for getting work done! I can multi-task with having multiple programs open including different Windows applications and the internet. Having the touchscreen and the tablet mode makes group work and other projects easier. The size is perfect for having apps side by side and the weight is very light which makes walking on a large campus a non-issue.

Pretty good machine. Very solidly built. Case isn't metal, but is still high quality. Processor isn't the fastest, but has decent performance. Battery life on the laptop is at minimum 4+ hours.

So far the idea of a 2-in-1 laptop seems to be a great choice. The Intel i3 with 6GB of RAM is beefy enough to edit pictures using Photoshop Elements without any problems. I don't foresee any problems with performance for casual computing or web browsing.
The overall construction of the laptop is really good. I love the higher quality metal construction compared to less expensive plastic chassis laptops. The lack of an optical drive does take some getting used to since we've got software still on CD/DVD disks that I've had to copy to USB just to install. Thank goodness we still have an older laptop with an optical drive to copy the disks.
We have had a few issues with the touchpad being unresponsive and stop responding to multi touch commands. I haven't figured out yet if it's due to a recent update or just poor quality. A quick restart fixes it but the issue is still frustrating nonetheless.

I got this laptop for my son who is attending college and he is very excited with the different options available for using it. He had to do a presentation for his class and it was very easy for doing so just by rotating the screen to show to his classmates without needing any additional projector.

Bought this after having a HP for a long time. What a difference with Windows 10 and the spped and new interface are seamless. A little time to get used to, but overall very quick, efficient and is being used primarily by my mother in law(age 65) with no issues.

I needed a laptop for school. I found exactly what I wanted. It was reasonable, not too heavy. I flip it back and use it like a tablet. Touch screen is a plus.

I needed a new laptop and so I ordered this one. When the package arrived, I opened it and thought, "Wow, this laptop is super thin." I then realized that it was because there was no disc drive.
I thought, "ok, I dont NEED a disc drive. I can make do with this."
Well, if memory serves me well, my last laptop was using Windows XP. This is a whole new ballgame. touch screen and apps and everything, makes me feel like im using my ipad instead of a computer. Matter of fact, i use my ipad more than this laptop.
I think I would like this laptop if I actually had the time to sit down and figure it out. So for now, I'm mainly using my ipad.

This computer has the power and flexibility to fit my needs. Coming from an older Samsung Core i7 powerhouse that stopped working, I certainly did not set a high list of standards for a less-powerful, smaller Core i3 Toshiba. However, I am amazed at how capable this 2-in-1 computer is at its price-point. This is not exactly a desktop replacement; however, I would not consider this a budget laptop, either. Multitasking is made simple with it Core i3 processor and 6Gb of RAM.

I bought this to replace the tablet I had. I simply wanted more power than the tablet could provide but did not want to pay for a Microsoft Surface nor did I want an iPad. Plus I was just plain curious if it would suit my needs. It does the job well.
I must admit that I immediately changed the hard drive to a Samsung EVO 850 250GB (about $91 at Best Buy) because the included 500Gb HDD just was not up to the task. I also changed the ram and increased the ram size to 8GB. The hard drive change definitely helped the speed of this computer but the i3 processor is capable on its own of running many software and games efficiently. Don't get me wrong, your not going to be playing the newest games on max settings but you would be surprised what it can run with a rather minor upgrade. The Intel HD 5500 integrated graphics are much better than previous versions and are respectable although dedicated graphics are always preferred.
The laptop comes with 2 USB 3 ports and 1 USB 2.0 port. I see no good reason to have the slower USB port but I plugged my mouse into it so it was not that big of a deal. The wireless card seems to work fine as well as the Bluetooth and HDMI port. My only real complaint besides no dedicated video is the screen. It is bright enough and the touch screen is responsive. The IPS rotates the screen when it is in tablet mode and works just fine ( there seems to be a slight delay but over all this is a non-issue). My complaint is that the display is not full HD. That would have made this a pretty darn good laptop for the money. The highest resolution is 1366 x 768, HD for sure but full HD would have been nice.
This laptop is light and thin, comfortable to carry and has decent battery life. I cannot give specifics on the battery life but I do know that for basic web surfing and word processing I can go all day without plugging in. When doing the light gaming that the laptop is capable of, it does get a bit hot and of course the battery life suffers but I was surprised that it lasted a few hours.
Windows 10 comes preloaded and licensed. I am a fan of Windows 10 so I have not complaints about the OS. There is a bit of crapware but not too much to deal with and McAfee Antivirus is included for one year. You may want to change this or at least the program settings but I do like the information that it provides such as alerts when a new computer logs onto your network and also detailed information about scans that it has done. Overall not too bad of a program either.
Overall I rate this as a pretty good value if you at least change the HDD to a solid state drive. Ram upgrade optional.

I was looking for a 2 in 1 laptop and found this laptop. I was first doubting it because this is my first time to try toshiba. But now, I think this laptop is worth it's price. It works great. It runs very fast as a laptop and also works perfect for me as a tablet! I will recommend it to anyone who needs 2 in 1 laptop.

I like most everything about this computer. I am not a computer savvy person. It has lots of options such as tablet mode and touch screen. I do not like that it did not come with some basic version of Microsoft office. Also, even after I removed many of the unnecessary apps that it came with. It is still very very slow to boot up and restart. I am also struggling with the navigation of windows 10. It doesn't seem to be the same high quality of my previous Toshiba that lived for 6 years. I haven't tried traveling with it yet. That will be the real test.
