This is very easy and straightforward to install. This has replaced my previous Lutron dimmer for halogen lights. Connected to my wi-fi network with no problems and since I already had Alexa and Google Home configured for Kasa skill for previous smart plugs, they detected the 2 new devices I just connected on wi-fi without and problems or requiring no manual configuration.

This switch was offered at the same price point as the non dimming model. I'm glad I went with this. I have a ton of smart devices around the house, and have no issues with TP-Link products at all. I plan on buying a few more.

If you are looking to get into smart home switches or plugs, look no further than TP-Link. They make high quality products with end users in mind. In the case of the dimmer switch, they make installation very straightforward and pairing it with your app easy. I like TP-Link products because they do not require a hub (just an app), and it pairs easily with both Google and Amazon products for voice activation. Compared to other brands I have tried, TP-Link products also hold Wi-Fi connection better than others. As far as dimmer capabilities, I am impressed with the switch's smoothness in dimming. You can adjust the minimum dimming range within the app, so this works well for both LED and incandescent fixtures. A cool feature for a child's room is the double tap to slow fade out.

Love this dimmer. Instead of buying multiple smart bulbs, you can wire this (easily) and either physically turn on the light and control dimness, verbally turn it on (via Alexa/Google Assistant) or use the Kasa app. The dim feature is excellent. It has a smooth, wide range of dimness. You can also calibrate the dimness based on the bulb (led or incandescent) so there's no "skips" when dimming. Another great feature is it comes with a cover plate if you're using a single gang. If you're using a double (or more) gang you can take use a regular cover plate as well. It's a great addition to the smart home.

Works perfectlty with my ceiling fan light. Since I won't be using the fan, I just capped the fan wiring and connected the light. Works like a charm!

I own several Kasa light switches and love each and every one. The only thing I don’t like about them is the size and trying to fit them neatly in a gang box full of wires.

This is absolutely THE BEST smart switch you can buy and I'm so glad Best Buy stocks and sells them both in store and online. This little device allows you to totally set and control your recessed LED lights with great ease through the switch itself, the Kasa App or your Alexa. Its brilliant. "Set living room to 30%" and bam it works. I think TP Link Kasa is a great value and so much better than the competition such as Z-Wave (garbage!). Just do your research on the tech blogs and you'll see they all agree TP Link beats the rest as top choice. The fact that this allows dimming puts it over the top! And it always works!

First thing first: this switch is UL listed. I refuse to install a non-UL listed product in my home, and most brands are not. Eufy and Kasa are the only smart switches I have seen so far that are. We like the Kasa Smart Dimmer. It looks good and performs pretty well, and it integrated with our system fairly simply. I say "fairly", because some changes we tried to make to our Google Home messed up the connection between TP-Link and Google, so we had to start over from scratch once or twice. That wasn't exciting, but sometimes things happen and it's been problem-free since then. In terms of installation, this switch is a bit bulky. We had to replace the face on our box (not the plastic plate, but the metal plate used in commercial buildings that goes under the plastic plate) with a much wider one to be able to fit the switch. The Eufy switches weren't quite as bulky, but they also weren't dimmers. Good product, good brand. Little backend bug, but nothing to really sweat over.

    Old boxes might hinder install

We have installed 3 of the 4 units we purchased. The first two went in and connected with no problem. The 3rd one was a nightmare. The unit was too big for the electric box. It was from the original part of the house built in the 60's. The other 2 were installed in an addition built in the 90's. It took some rearranging and over an hour to install but it is in and working. We are re-evaluating the location for the 4th one. Overall, we are pleased with the units. It has been nice to turn lights off and on, and dim them, without walking over to the switch or putting things down. You just might want to look at the size of the unit. Thanks

Easy set up. Noticeable delay when switched on

This was my first attempt at networking a light switch. It was straightforward, but still took me about 45 mins, primarily since my junction box had more wires in it than I was anticipating, so it took a bit of effort to clear out sufficient space in the junction box to fit the bulkier smart switch. There are many instructional videos online, or the Kasa app walks you through it. I just wish there was a physical set up guide in the box rather than going straight into the app. Switch is working great, and it was also really easy to hook up to my Google Home. I only rated 4 stars because I notice a delay when I switch on the lights now, compared to what it was before. You can set up a double click on the switch to do "instant on", but I wish that could also be set up for single click.

I am very impressed with the TP Link Kasa Dimmer switch. This was my first smart switch that I installed. I had the Kasa app from other smart plugs. The switch came with labels to label the wires in your box and the step by step instructions in the app are helpful. This does need a neutral wire to hookup, so you want to check to make sure you have one. I have it paired with Amazon Echo and am able to say "Alexa, Light to 50%, 40%, 20%, etc" and have it dim the lights automatically. I would definitely recommend this switch.
