This smart dimmer switch was very easy to install. It does require a neutral. Once you figured out your wiring it should only take minutes to install. Connecting it to the Kasa smart app was really simple. It is cool to be able to control the lights from anywhere with the smart app. I just wish it was Apple HomeKit compatible. There is a workaround where are you use IFTT and Apple workflows, but that will mean you’ll have to repeat the process and everyone’s smart phone in your household. But it does work.

We cautiously purchased a few Kasa plugs and switches to test them out. We now have Kasa devices throughout the house and outdoors (WiFi Outdoor Plug). My husband installed them effortlessly and we set them up on the Kasa app and Alexa. They are integrated into Alexa’s “Goodnight” routine which ensures that our indoor and outdoor lights are turned off. SO easy!

Honestly I have not installed it yet. But my brother in law has the same model and it works great, there is no reason I can think of that would make this not be great in my home. My internet is faster and I have a fully set up smart home which includes several Kasa (TP-Link) smart switches that also work great and come at a great price point. Great price and great product.

Instructions were good and easy to follow for installation as long as you have a neutral wire in the box. Alexa was very easy to connect and get control of on/off as well as brightness setting. Only 2 slight negatives. The light has a very brief delay coming on when the switch is hit, just long enough to make you think you didn't hit it. This is even with the on/off delay being set to immediate. The second item is I wish it could go a little dimmer then its lowest setting. I had a manual dimmer on the LED light circuit before installing this, and it allowed the light to go a little bit dimmer. Other than those two relatively minor items I like the dimmer switch enough to buy another for different light.

I've replaced most of my switches with Kasa switches. This dimmer works well. I just miss being able to control the dimness precisely with a slider. But being able to set schedules and control through Alexa voice control or through the app make the trade-off worthwhile. It can be hard to install though since the switch is deep. Had to work very hard to maneuver the wires and caps behind it in the switch box.

It is best reliable WiFi smart switch for the price. Surprised by its functionality.

I installed this in my kitchen to dim the LED. I had many dumb dimmer before and the light output fluctuates, it tends not able to keep the voltage steady. The light output sometimes go brighter and dimmer on its own. Since I installed the Kasa-220 my led output are stable. Installation is simple and the dimmer integrates to my home automation with Alexa. I am getting another one for my family room.
