Customers are impressed with the Elite Pro 2 Wired Gaming Headset's superb sound quality, comfortable design, and deep bass. Many appreciate the comfortable earcups and overall fit, along with the added convenience of Bluetooth functionality. However, some customers find the wired design cumbersome and wish for wireless options, while others mention concerns about the volume level and price point. The headset's features are generally well-received, but potential buyers should consider these trade-offs.

    Cool gaming headset for PS4

Overall, this is a pretty good headset. It includes the PowerAMP which connects up to the PS4 and allows you to have the best experience with the PS4. If your intent is to use it primarily with the PS4 this headset won't disappoint. The comfort of this headset is amazing, the sound is great and other players have no trouble hearing you over the mic. It is easy to connect and use and provides controls for your audio nearby without having to find controls. You can plug it into other devices like a Switch or your phone to use it for games there but because it's not paired up with the Power AMP it wasn't quite the same in terms of audio quality/loudness so I definitely wouldn't get this hoping to have the same experience without it. Even though it's clear this headset is intended only to work on the PC/PS4 with the Power AMP it is still disappointing to see it not be universal between Xbox and the PS4 as many gamers like me have both and Xbox and PS4 so this just ends up being more clutter in those scenarios. The upside is that to get it to work on the Xbox you'd only need to get the Power AMP and not the whole headset again. For this, I'd challenge Turtle Beach to come up with a universal system (even it used a manual switch to change compatibility modes). For it as it is marketed, I'd give it 5 stars but as a standalone headset I'd give it 4 where without the AMP it didn't sound a ton different than other gaming headsets I have. Overall, I'd recommend it for it's comfort, quality and sound when paired up with the AMP but would not recommend if you intend on using it with other devices outside of a PC as there might be another option even from Turtle Beach that would work better.

Turtle Beach has always ruled the roost when it comes to gaming headsets and these are no exception. They plug directly into the gaming console of the controller and have great sound and are comfortable to wear and put your right in all of the action with immersive bass and serious audio feedback. I felt like I was right in the game and the super amp added more powerful sound to every game I was playing! Highly recommended.

Great Headphones but Could be Improved

This Turtle Beach Headset is a great buy for anyone looking for a comfortable and immersive gaming experience. Playing for hours at a time never felt fatiguing. I found myself getting lost in the game without realizing what time it was and who was around me. The drawback to these headphones are all the cables needed to use the SuperAmp. They are long enough to where you can play from a distance on a couch or in your bedroom but they do get in the way a bit. Connecting everything is very simple and the sound quality with the included SuperAmp is great with being able to distinguish 360 degree sound and be able to pinpoint with accuracy where it's coming from in the game. If I had to change one thing it would be going wireless. Overall these are a great buy and they feel sturdy enough to last me a long time. The mic sounds okay on the other side of it but I would still recommend this headset to anyone looking for more control over their video game sound with great build quality and comfort ability.

This is a very comfortable gaming headset. It does not start to annoy your ears after wearing for a few hours like some other headphones I’ve tried out. Its very comfortable and soft. I really like how clear and crisp the sound is. A person running from a distance sounds like they are running from a distance. The sounds are so clear, you feel like you are actually in the game. Set-up was very easy and connection to the app was a cinch. The only thing I’m having trouble with is the sound quality when you connect through the superamp. It is supposed to enhance the sound, but it’s not doing that. The sound is actually better if I just connect directly onto my remote. The superamp does work well when I connect my phone to get calls while playing games and the call is clear on my end and the receiving person’s end. The call actually rings right into my headset which is awesome. I love that feature. I also love how you can play music while gaming. There isn’t anything I really don’t like about the headset except trying to figure out the connection through the superamp instead of on the remote. I can def live with that though. I would still recommend it.

Lets get to the point - there's nothing that would prompt me to spend more than $100 on a good pair of headphones. Sure, these are built like a tank and are very comfortable, but so are every other set of headphones that I have. I really just couldn't justify spending this type of money on headphones. The sound quality is great and brings games to life, but again, I can see no good reason to spend 4-5 times the amount that I would on a game for a pair of headphones that I would use to play the game. And yes, they are extremely comfortable, but so are my less expensive ones - if I am wearing headphones so long that they get comfortable, that's my body's way of saying to get up and do something other than play a game! I guess it comes down to priorities - personally, I can't justify the price tag on these, then again my priority isn't looking good at an E-sports tournament ! But for others, if price is no object, then these are probably the absolute best headphones you're going to find!

The Elite Pro 2 Wired Gaming Headset with Elite SuperAmp Bluetooth Audio Controller for PlayStation 4 is a great headset. The big difference between this headset and others is the volume of the headset. Normally most PS4 headsets are lower volume due to the game controllers not being powered enough. This headset however with the AMP is loud enough for me especially next to the other ones I have used. It is really comfortable, and it has excellent sound. The Dynamic Chat Boost™ automatically boosts incoming chat volume over game audio so I was able to communicate perfectly and clearly with the game sound still loud and clear. I was able to wear my glasses while also wearing the headset. My ears did not get hot wearing the headset. The only thing I wish is that these were wireless for the price, but otherwise I am fully satisfied. The quality is top-notch on these head phones. I would highly recommend them.

While I'm a fan of Turtle Beach and have really liked the two previous models I still own, this one was a little disappointing. Yes, the sound quality is fantastic as expected and for being fairly large and bulky, they are comfortable to wear for several hours at a time. The small channel you can configure through the ear pieces to accommodate eye glass frames is a nice touch, too. The disappointing thing, though, was all the cabling that's necessary between the PS4, SuperAmp, and the headset. If they had just put a volume control on the headset cord next to the mute button, then you could at least plug the headset into the PS4 controller and use them that way. But the SuperAmp is the only place to adjust the volume, and you have to keep it near you so you can adjust it. It, in turn, has to be connected via USB cable to the PS4. All of this causes problems if you have kids, pets, or any other kind of traffic between you and the PS4 while playing. The SuperAmp does provide bluetooth connectivity which is kind of a nice feature. This lets you hear your phone notifications, etc. through the headset while playing. You don't have any portability, though, since it's tied to the SuperAmp. Also, some people probably would rather not have the phone interruptions while in the middle of a game. So, because of the cabling issues and given the price, I'd really rather have a wireless (or mostly wireless) headset for gaming. I feel bad saying it because I really like Turtle Beach, but I think there are better options out there than this particular model.

To start, this is nice looking headset. They are quite hefty and certainly instill a quality feel to them. The Amplifier though does seem quite generic looking aside from the Turtle Beach logo. The sound on them is pretty darn good, though they do seem a bit quieter than several other headsets I've used. This was primarily on PC. I do have a PS4 but don't use it all that often anymore. There are plenty of accessories, the Optical Cable for the PS4, the 3.5mm that's quite lengthy for couch gaming and the Micro-USB for powering the Amp. The Mic seems pretty good and my friends didn't have issues hearing me. The only issues I encountered was that the Headset is not very adjustable. The earcups only adjust down a few notches and doesn't really make much of a difference. The headset does feel a bit tight though but not uncomfortable. The other issue is controlling the headset. The PC software I'm guessing is not yet coded to be compatible with anything but the Stealth series. When trying to launch the software it just says it's only for updating the firmware. That leads into the issue that is the App. There's a lot issues with it on my LG V30+. The app frequently stopped working or would cause my entire device to freeze. Changing settings when it would work was quite laggy and sometimes wouldn't even register a tap. The description's of the settings in the app could do with a lot of adjusting. The tones setting is just confusing. It's supposedly for the SuperHuman Hearing, why this isn't just labeled that I don't really know. I tested it out on a few games, Division 2, Apex Legends, Fortnite and a few others and it just seemed more distracting than useful. If the software on PC was compatible with the Elite Pro 2's I think it would go a long way towards making these easier to use. I'd still much recommend them, though there's another brand that are in this same price range that can be had that will likely be better bang for the buck but that's of course personal preference.

I wish I would have found this a few weeks ago as It had been recently gifted after I had already bought a HyperX headset. For starters and where it really matters. The sound quality has been excellent. I can hear things I didn’t notice before and my friends seem to be able to hear me clearly as well. I honestly have messed with the super amp all that much but it does function well and add a little versatility to the headset. The microphone is detachable and the ear cups are super comfortable. I wear glasses and have had no issues. If you are a gamer, you can’t go wrong with these especially if you can get them on sale.

If you are a serious gamer or just love to have top of the line equipment for your gaming, you need to look into getting these Turtle Beach Elite Pro 2. I enjoy gaming, but my son is a fanatic, so we both provided feedback for this item. To begin with the packing is really nice, it lets you know that you are getting a nice piece of equipment. Out of the box it can look a little intimidating, but if you take the time to follow the directions it really isn't difficult to setup at all.My son wears glasses and was really looking forward to him enjoying the ear cushions and boy did he ever. He said by far they are the best ear cushions he has ever had with his glasses. In retrospect this feature may be bad as he will be gaming longer than he needs to be. My problem with previous headsets is that they would get hot and sweaty around my ears, but the Turtle Beach make a big difference in keeping them cool. To fully enjoy this headset, you need to download the Audio Hub to utilize the SuperAmp. The sound clarity that comes through these are simply mind blowing. My teenage son loves that he can stream his music and enjoys changing the color on the amp. Because I can now hear all the little sounds that I was missing on before with previous headsets I feel like my gaming has gotten better. Many people have complained about the wires, but it all depends on your setup. Our PS4 is connected in our media room, so all of the wires are actually behind us as we play. If you are really into gaming you need to have these Turtle Beach Elite Pro2, my son and I really recommend them.

When I opened the box I was impressed. The headsets are really nicely designed and felt very solid. Trying them on and they felt great and sat nicely on my melon. I honestly could not wait to try these out!!! That was where the excitement ended. I did something I rarely do...read the manual first. I had a feeling, with all the connections, that I may want to prepare myself before connecting to anything. According to the manual there is a Windows or Mac download for the headset and hub. It is recommended to update the headset for the latest features. I downloaded on my Windows 10 laptop. Performed the install and connected the device as prompted. Nope, did not find it, but Windows installed the drivers. Ok, kill the power and try again. Nope. Read a little and decided to force a software update by holding the Bluetooth button while plugging in the MINI-USB (yes mini) connector. It started the update and finished a few seconds later. The Windows/Mac app controls nothing with the headset but will perform firmware updates only. Now testing it out on the PC, tried adjusting the volume with the SuperAmp. Nothing. OK, lets look at the manual again. AH! I need to set the Amp in PC mode! Let me grab my Android phone. NOPE. Went to the TB website and clicked on the Android installer for Android 4.3 and higher. 4.3? Jelly Bean? Really? Guess that matches the MINI-USB connector. "Item not found" Ok, search by name... NOPE. Guess my OnePlus 6T has too new of an OS. Let's try my sons Essential PH-1... Nope, not from pre-2015. Well, guess I can try and connect to my work iPhone. AudioHub app says the device can not be found. OK, paired the Amp to the iPhone and the app can connect. Is this a joke? The app is completely useless and more of a puzzle game than a tool to enhance your experience. But it will drain a battery with no problem since it locks the screen on and tells you to plug the phone in. After about 10 minutes of clicking here and there and trying to direct thru this maze I found where to switch to PC mode. Maybe the AMP will allow me to control the volume now. NOPE. OK, enough with the PC, I won't use the AMP with the PC and just use the headphones as headphones. They are nice. Now to the real reason for these bad boys...PS4 TIME! Went thru the setting and connected the Amp to the PS4. Let's see what she can do. I can't hear anything. Turn the volume up. Nope. Turn the volume up inside the PS4 settings. OK, now we are cooking I can hear something. Turn the volume up on the Amp. NOPE. Ok, grab the phone and see what I can do. Finally I got the volume where I can hear it. But the Amp is useless, outside of lights a extension and a USB connection it does absolutely nothing. The dial makes the LED lights change like you are doing something but NADA. The Amp is useless. Just plug into the controller and save some pain. At least the headsets are nice. Good: Comfortable Nice design Can be configured for more comfort when wearing glasses, a cutout under the ear pads Bad: Mini-USB, really? Not sure why there is a Windows/Mac app. It does nothing but firmware updates. Essentially no Android app if you are on a fairly recent OS release. Checked on my other sons LG G6 and not available there either. Apple app is a maze. Terrible design. Good at draining a battery. Bad at managing anything. Honestly, the more I fought with this thing the more I wondered what the need for the amp was that a inline volume controller could not have done better. I expected better and was thoroughly disappointed. The headsets are nice, but the rest is garbage. Giving it 2 stars because I do like the feel of the headset and the design, but would not recommend to anyone…even people I want to beat online. I am hoping future firmware updates make the amp anything more than a flashlight. Also hoping the app is rewritten or at a minimum is available on Android versions from the last 3 years.

Best sound I’ve heard out of any headphone, gaming or not. This headset really does it all. From first person shooters, to sport games, to music, all of which come through at the highest quality. You aren’t going to take these to the gym but when playing games or just relaxing on the couch, these headphones are great for it. As great as I believe this headset is, it isn’t perfect and does come with some flaws. In order to use the headset to it’s full capabilities, it has to be plugged into the “SuperAmp,” which has to be plugged into the PlayStation itself. That adds up to be a lot of cords. It just looks very cluttered and if you put your headset neatly away every time you use it, it’ll take a lot of time to set up again. (Not a bad price to pay based on the quality of these) Also, if you want to move away from the tv more than about 10 feet while using the headset to it’s full capacity, you won’t be able to. I have read that you may be able to find an extension but again, adding more cords isn’t preferred. I highly recommend these for multi-purpose use, (games, music, movies) you will not be disappointed!

High End Sound and Comfort in a Wired Headset

This headphone set is nicely packaged, and you can't miss Turtle Beach's grab at getting "brand loyalty" enforced with a "we are ELITE" slogan posted in various places. This does seem like pretty high-quality equipment. Even the connecting hub/amp seems heavy and made of metal and strong plastics, as is the headset itself. It has an attachable mic, and comes with a 3.5 mm audio cable, USB cable, and optical audio cable. This is the wired set meant for use with PC or PS4, so there is nothing to charge up or place batteries in. You may need a magnifying glass for the instruction booklet. You download a primary control app for Android or iPhone, and from that point you can set the hub for use with either PC or PS4. You download a separate app on your Windows PC or USB-connected device to upgrade a new firmware package for the hub and headset. It's easy, and it all seemed to work better (and faster) from the hub control app after a recommended firmware update. The Windows app is just for firmware, all other tweaks are the normal ones available in Windows sound or the Turtle Beach app on your phone. You can preset levels for the microphone or audio out (for those gamers who want to record all the action including your voice.) This set could also be used for things like podcast recording. The mic and the hub output was instantly accessible in Audacity, so even newbies can play around with recordings right off the bat. The microphone quality was pretty good. What I find is the biggest selling point--by far--is how comfortable these are even after a couple hours. It's not like they are light-weight (they aren't) but the cushioning of the cross band and the ear pieces was really nice, and I didn't seem to be sweating in them either. I selected "Extra Bass and Treble" for my custom listening setting, and I like the well-balanced sound and clarity. I don't think these had the noise-cancelling feature that a lot of other high-end brands have but I still enjoyed several extended sessions of use with them. I like the sound quality as much as those other brands I have. The target market here is gaming of course, and for that you may not miss a wireless feature. I do like the amp/hub a lot--it's quick and easy access to a rotary volume control and inputs and outputs make it a nice addition to a desk top. If you spend hours on your PS4 or PC, this set would be great for you.

After testing the Turtle Beach - Elite Pro 2 Wired Gaming Headset for a few weeks I genuinely love some of the things about this headset that other manufacturers could take note of: • They’re super-comfortable, even after extended use • The controls on the headset are easy to use • The “glasses” design in the headset help with the comfort—not just a gimmick! • It includes an optical cable!!! • The sound is terrific, and I’m told the mic is very clear I tried them on both my computer and my PS4—it’s honestly a bit better set-up for my computer, as my PS4 is in my living room and my couch is kind of far away. I have to sit closer than I want if I want to use the wired amp (which is recommended, sounds better, and requires the optical cable), and I have to be extra careful with the cords. They can also be used as a straight headset plugged right into the controller, and still sound good, just not AS good. The PC set-up is a bit easier to work with the wires (they’re very long for a PC, but not quite long enough for a couch 10-feet away from the TV) and the sound there is also very good. You can switch between the modes easy enough with the app, but the app can take a bit to figure out. The AMP also has controls on it, though, again, they’re easier to use with the PC and the AMP sitting right in front of you than with the PS4 and it sitting somewhere between you and the TV. The glasses comfort design of the headset actually works and helps ease the usual pain caused by wearing headphones for an extended period of time over glasses—it’s now one of my favorite features on any headset! It’s also pretty important on these as they’re fairly heavy. The other nice feature is the "cooling" cup design--it genuinely works as well--my ears did not get noticeably hot or sweaty at any time while using these. The biggest drawback to these, by far, is all the cords that are required for the best sound. They're pretty much not an option in my living room as between my dog and my kids someone is going to rip out a wire somewhere, and possibly cause some serious damage to something. If you don't mind the wires (or are using them with a PC where wires typically aren't a big deal) then these are some fantastic sounding, very comfortable headphones…

I picked up the Elite Pro 2 3 weeks ago and have been thoroughly impressed with the quality and comfort of the product. The sound quality is really awesome. I’ve read a couple of negative reviews about volume, but if you take the time to customize (why would you not!) they are unparalleled. Crisp highs and deep lows. You can hear every footstep or reload. As for the mic, it is 100% crystal clear. No issues like I’ve repeatedly heard about the Astro A50s. Absolutely perfect. The ability to use phone and multi task is a huge plus, especially when you’re planning on gaming for a stretch. In summary, great headset that is WELL worth the price!

Gaming Headset with Decent Mic and Average Sound

The Turtle Beach Elite Pro 2 gaming headset certainly has a cool sounding name. And to be fair, it does have "pro" looks. It has several inputs (3.5mm stereo, USB, and optical) and advertises a digital 7.1 channel audio. That's more channels than my home theater setup! So, they're serious about providing an immersive audio experience. There's also a bluetooth connected audio controller they're calling Elite SuperAmp. It actually looks like a headset cup. I'm not sure if that was on purpose. I have the version for the PS4. There's also an Xbox One specific version. There's pretty much no setup required (unless you're using the app with the bluetooth controller). Just plug in and go. It is at this point that I noticed a couple immediate issues. The headset has two 3.5mm inputs, one for the headset mic and one for audio. The USB and optical inputs are on the SuperAmp which one connects to the headset via the 3.5mm audio. This means that regardless of the original audio source, all you're getting on the headset is stereo audio. That means the 7.1 channel audio is just virtual. The immediate test is gaming. There is certainly an improvement between going direct with the 3.5mm versus USB audio via the SuperAmp. But even with the higher quality audio in, I can't say I was blown away by sound improvement. It felt more like I had a better tuned equalizer. I can report that audio quality using the mic was noticeably better than other headsets I've used so points there. Aside from providing (I'm guessing) the decoding of digital audio the SuperAmp boasts a few features. It has audio out so you can record to another source for streaming purposes. I'm not sure how this provides value over existing streaming capabilities given that it doesn't seem like the SuperAmp does anything to the audio going out. It adds the ability to take phone calls or play music from your phone on top of your game music. That's actually a pretty cool function. It also has a "super human" mode that purports to give you a competitive edge in hearing sounds that normally would be muted in-game, like footsteps of someone sneaking up on you. The problem is that there isn't any smart signal processing to make this happen. It's just amplifying the sound beyond what you'd normally get turning up the volume. Because of that, the benefits are small, akin to just turning up the volume really loud. With that amplification, everything else is also amplified and so quiet foot falls are still relatively hard to pick out over other sounds. What would be cool is if it somehow could tone down foreground sounds and amplify background sounds. But I'm guessing the games pre-mix all that first so there's no real way to separate it out. The one other kinda neat feature is the ability to adjust the ear cups to make way for glasses. I normally wear contacts, especially when gaming, but it is nice that this can accommodate me should I happen to be wearing my glasses. I think these are a decent gaming headset with some cool features. It just feels a bit overblown and disappoints in the execution of it's gee-whiz stuff.

On the PS4 this headset is simply amazing! I don't use it on PC so I cannot speak for that type of usage. The 7.1 works great in games like Division 2 and COD Black Ops 4, and the amp definitely does it job. This headset is also very light and comfortable, much lighter than most wireless headsets.
