    Great Lock

The lock has been excellent so far. I've had it installed for a few months now, and even with the cold temperatures here in Minnesota, the fingerprint reader has worked flawlessly. We've enrolled fingerprints for the entire family, and my kids use it daily when they come home from school—never an issue with access. I also get notifications on Apple Home when they arrive. As you can see from the pictures, it’s installed on an older door. The alignment is still decent, but this lock has outperformed others I've tried before. It seems to have more power and reliability than other brands I've used.

The All-In-One Smart Lock for Your Home

The Ultraloq Bolt Fingerprint Wi-Fi Smart Lock with Apple Home integration, is an excellent smart home product for those looking for that additional level of security, ease of mind and control for those who can have access to your home. Right from the start, I was very happy to see just how straightforward the installation process was. The lock comes with clear, easy-to-follow instructions, and the hardware itself is well-built and intuitive to assemble. Since I was only doing a simple swap of my current deadbolt and because it fits into a standard deadbolt slot, all I had to do was remove my old lock and door frame plate and I was good to go. I personally didn't have to do any drilling/cutting to resize my door or door frame. That being said, it does come with some measurement outlines that allows you to overlay it on a blank door, to cut out the perfect hole for the lock. HELPFUL TIP, before installation, I highly recommend taking a picture of the back of the deadbolt where the QR code and serial number are located. This is crucial because you’ll need this information when setting up the lock in the Ultraloq app (U Home) and integrating it with Apple Home. Once the lock is physically installed, setting it up in the app is seamless. The QR code scan allows for quick pairing to Apple Home and the serial number is for the U Home app activation setup. After creating an account and getting the lock on my network, I did run into a little user error snag, where it needs to be setup on a 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi band and when trying to do a firmware update my cellphone was on the 5g band and the firmware update kept failing but as soon as I switched my phone over to my networks 2.4 band the update went through, just something to look out for. Because, until I did the firmware update the pin-code would not unlock the door and only the app would unlock the door. So make sure you do the Firmware update after installing it. The standout features of the Ultraloq Bolt are its multiple access options. You can unlock it using your fingerprint, a passcode, the UHome app, Apple Home, or even a physical key. The fingerprint reader is fast and accurate, recognizing authorized users in a split second. The ability to assign unique codes to multiple users is super convenient and you can designate individuals as admins, active users, or temporary users with expiration dates on their access codes. You can add the person in the app and give them permissions. This feature is perfect for granting access to house guests, In-Laws, dog walkers, or Airbnb guests without needing to change codes manually. And since this has Bluetooth you don't have to give people access to your Wi-Fi network in order to access to communicate with the lock. The U Home app is well-designed and user-friendly. It allows you to manage all settings, view access logs, and create or modify user access. The app’s interface is intuitive, making it easy to add or remove users, check lock status, and receive real-time notifications when someone enters. Integration with Apple Home is another big advantage, enabling voice control with Siri and automation with other smart home devices. You can set up a proximity area where the lock will automatically lock itself as you enter the house which is nice if your hands are full. The only real negative about this product is its decision to go with 8x AA batteries for power. Not since the video game handheld the Game Gear have I had to install this many batteries into one device. It is a tad puzzling why Ultraloq decided to go this route instead of a rechargeable lithium battery. That being said I would just go and get 16x rechargeable AA lithium batteries, so you never had to worry about buying more AA batteries and you can just rotate them when they need to be recharged. Pros: 1.Easy installation with clear instructions 2.Multiple unlocking options fingerprint, passcode, app, Apple Home, and a key 3.Customizable user access with admin, active, and temporary roles 4.Fingerprint reader is quick and reliable 5.Seamless Apple Home integration 6.U Home app is intuitive and feature-rich 7.Real-time notifications and access logs 8.Sleek and modern design Cons: 1.QR code and serial number Location - You must remember to take a picture before installation 2.8x AA Batteries - not rechargeable batteries 3.Awkward Physical key - the shape/design of the key is not like your standard key. Overall, the Ultraloq Bolt Fingerprint Wi-Fi Smart Lock with Apple Home is an excellent investment for anyone looking to enhance their home security . The setup is easy, the features are robust, and the ability to grant and monitor access remotely is huge and gone are the days of hiding a key under the mat or a lawn gnome. If you’re looking for a high-quality smart lock with Apple Home compatibility, I would highly recommend this product.

Installing the lock was straightforward, so I decided to do it myself. It took about twenty minutes to remove the old deadbolt and key-in-knob lock and install the Ultraloq and matching door lever. The setup was easy. The lock is compatible with Google Home, Siri, Alexa, and Apple HomeKit. HomeKit allows you to manage the lock and user IDs without needing the U Home app. The main advantage of using HomeKit is the ability to consolidate all compatible devices into one app.

Great Actuation feels solid Casing feels sturdy Multiple methods to unlock Works with Homekit Can auto unlock when you get close enough Allows you to hide your pin code with junk numbers Works even when wearing gloves Even has the option to work for business Hold 8 batteries for longer battery life Not so great Auto unlock is finicky and only works about 15% of the time No option to lock when leaving, only timed Fingerprint reader is finicky sometimes Striker plate doesn’t match shape or size of industry standard. Plastic turn for deadbolt on inside feels a bit cheap compared to the rest Cloud functions sometimes lag Door sensor can’t be embedded in door Doesn’t support Apple Homekey No support for Matter The Ultraloq Bolt Fingerprint is a heavy deadbolt that looks and feels premium. The casing is brushed satin nickel with the controls in black plastic. While it still looks nice, the thumb knob on the inside takes away slightly from the premium feel. The deadbolt mechanism feels premium with no play in the mechanism and smooth activation. The outside portion looks nice, but slightly busy with all the options provided. The buttons are clear with the text inlaid below the surface meaning you don’t have to worry about them wearing off from use. They are also backlit for use at night. A surprise feature is for a lock that unlike most locks in the category, the Ultraloq has direct support for business use with a feature called Ultraloq Air. If you want to use it for your business, you can link multiple locks to the Air services and control the locks and users via a website. Currently the service is free, but U-Tec has been upfront in saying they cannot guarantee it will always be free, particularly for large installations. It is nice that they are honest about this and it wouldn’t be a surprise that they had to add a service fee to support the cloud costs for larger installations in the future. Setup 8/10 The installation is very easy unless you have an unusual door. The installations provide options for the most common door types with step-by-step guides and the hardware needed. There are also videos provided if you prefer that format. It takes less than 10 minutes to swap out your hardware for the new. The two main sticking points that can slow you are down are the striker plate and leveling the deadbolt. The striker plate doesn’t match the standard size striker plate and might require chiseling out of your door trim. The other is when installing the outside portion, it tightens up the plate that the inside portion mounts to at the same time. For both the inside and outside portion of the lock to be level and square with the door you must try to get both sides correct and tighten them while ensuring they don’t move. It took a few tries where either the inside or outside portion was tilted slightly. Not a huge issue but a little innovation in this area could smooth the installation process. Included in the box is an optional door sensor that allows the lock to know if the door is open or closed. This makes features like auto lock more useful and knowing if the door is fully closed. The only downside is the included sensor doesn’t have an option to mount in the door from for a more discrete appearance. It sits right on the door frame like a wart waiting to be hit as someone goes through the door. If you have decorative trim around your door this will sit awkwardly on top of it. From research it seems a thin magnet could be used instead for a more discrete installation. Setting up the app is easy but can be a little finicky. It seems like occasionally either the lock, app, or maybe the cloud hangs for a few seconds. The initial pairing was easy but changing settings withing the app would go smoothly and then randomly would display a working logo and feel like it is frozen for several seconds. Everything worked fine, just occasionally, it would lag. It could be due to the shipping firmware as the first update attempt said it failed to install, but checking again it was showing updated. After the update the lags seem far less often. Smart Home Support 8/10 The Ultraloq supports multiple smarthome platforms and now this version includes Apple Home support. Unfortunately, it doesn’t support Apple Homekey which feels like a big omission. For those of you with Home Assistant or Homey, there isn’t direct support to add the lock and third-party support seems nonexistent. Customers have requests support for the other platforms and U-Tec has been receptive so fingers crossed the other platforms will be supported in the future. While Matter isn’t turning out to be the perfect solution as it was pitched, it would have still been nice to see support for Matter as this could make things easier for both U-Tec and clients to support their preferred smart home platform. Smart Controls 7/10 Automation within Homekit or Alexa are limited due to security but you can add extra functionality if you don’t mind having another app running on your phone tracking your GPS. The U-Tec supports Auto Lock and Auto Unlock. The Autolock feature is a basic timer that locks the door immediately or a specified time after you close the door. It would have been nice to have a feature to automatically lock the door when all family members have left the house. The Auto Unlock feature is more automatic and customized to you. As you are returning home and are within about 900ft of your house the app prepares to unlock the door. When your phone is withing Bluetooth range, approximately 10 feet, it unlocks the door. While this sounds great, in practice it works about 15% of the time. This might be because of the way our house is on the street. You must pass by it on a neighboring street which causes it to trigger the first Auto Unlock mode, then it disables Auto Unlock, finally as you approach the house on the street Auto Unlock triggers again. This might be causing a delay in the auto unlock. It might also be that it needs further software refinement because once when the auto unlock worked it locked the door just after opening even though the door trigger would have indicated an open door. The idea of auto unlock is nice but, considering the finicky nature support for Homekey would be preferred. If they could improve consistency, it might justify running another app a bit more. Control Options 9/10 Between smart options pin code, fingerprint, app control, and traditional key the Ultraloq seems to offer almost every option. The pin code is handy if you are wearing gloves or someone doesn’t want to have their fingerprint registered. The buttons have a nice clicky feeling where you know without a doubt you have pressed it. It also has a nice feature that you can enter random numbers before and after your code to prevent someone finding your pin code by looking over your shoulder. If your pin is in the group of random numbers, it works. The fingerprint option is also nice but requires app access for setup. Whereas the pin code works 100% of the time if you enter your pin correctly, the fingerprint scanner works about 80% of the time on the first try. Sometimes it requires a second try even when a finger is properly placed on the pad. With as fast it registers your touch this is not a big deal to try again. Final Thoughts The U-Tec Ultraloq Bolt is a well-built smart deadbolt trying to add useful features instead of just making an expensive locked tied to a subscription. While it would be nice if it had support for a few newer technologies but is very versatile as it is. It would be nice to see some future refinement to the operation of the smart features but overall, it is a very nice smart deadbolt. If you are in the market for a smart deadbolt and would like one with nearly every option for control, the Ultraloq Bolt is worth considering.

    GREATLOQ WITH ONE MINOR SETBACK!!!

The Ultraloq system is a great system for added protection plus smart features to your home. This smart lock offers a perfect blend of convenience, security, and technology. The Ultraloq dead bolt system is designed to easily replace your current deadbolt with a new smart that can be accessed via the app, fingerprint, access code or even a regular key. So, let’s go over what this smart lock has to offer. Setup: The setup process has been made as painless as possible with an instructional video and provided templates. It took me about 30 minutes to replace my existing lock with the new Ultraloq. Once the lock was installed, I was able to download the U-home app and connect the lock to my phone. In the app you can setup your finger prints, master code, temporary access code, lock and unlock using the phone, setup Geo-fencing for auto lock and unlock and your regular access codes. U-home offers a variety of products so all of them can be set up and accessed via U-home application. Features: So, as I had mention earlier that this smart lock offers multiple ways to lock and unlock your door. One of those ways is the fingerprint setup. I was curious to see how well the fingerprint scanner on this lock would perform to my surprise, it worked flawlessly. To test it out I programmed my fingerprint into the app. I did not program my wife and had her try to open the lock did not work, but when I tried mine, it worked perfectly. The other feature that I love about this lock is the geo-fencing to lock and unlock your deadbolt. This can come extremely handy when your hands are full. If all else fails, you still have two traditional keys to unlock your door. This smart lock can also be added to your existing smart home ecosystem such as google home, smart things, apple home, and IFTTT. Battery: So, this is where this lock takes a step back a little. I am not a fan of replacing batteries, especially 8 at a time. Even though they mention that the lock is powered by low consumption technology and provide the 8 AA batteries, eventually you will have to change them out and how fast will depend on the usage. I have another smart lock that stated that the batteries will last quite some time, but I am changing those out constantly. This issue could have been easily resolved by providing two rechargeable battery packs. Overall, I couldn't be happier with my Ultraloq Bolt, besides the little battery issue. It's reliable, convenient, and has given me a greater sense of security. If you are in the market for a new smart and changing out batteries is not issue, I would recommend checking out the Ultraloq.

I was looking for a multi-person lock that a child could use and so that I could track workers that provide temporary codes to. I'm doing some upgrades and will have work people in/out for the next several months. I'll initially put it on one door and if I'm happy with it I'll put it on 3 others. I really liked the idea that I could use multiple methods to unlock the door(s), and more so like the feature that all open/closes are logged to the cloud. Being able to assign different "keys"/codes to different people was just what I wanted. I have a couple of smart locks but they only support 10 unique codes and they don't provide a logging capability. I'm aware that the lock only works with a 2.4Ghz wifi network. I have an independent 2.4Ghz for my smart home devices. My initial concern is that the lock requires 8 AA (alkaline) batteries, don't try using rechargeable batteries (per their documentation). My existing smart locks use 4 batteries and last about a year. Installing the lock just required removing the old deadbolt and replacing it with the UltraLoq. The UltraLoq has a solid brass cylinder that looks much nicer than the zinc deadbolt I had previously. First the keypad harness has to be connected to the battery pack. Then two long screws screw through the battery box into the keypad to hold it together. The back of the battery box has a rubber backing. The keypad does not (I think it should) they claim the lock is IP65 weather rated; where I'm putting it it won't matter. After putting in the batteries I verified the keypad lighted up and worked. There is also a magnetic open/closed detector that requires a magnet to be mounted adjacent to the door, I'm going to do this later so that I can better hide it (route into molding/wall). They also have a YouTube video and it explains things more clearly than the written instructions. I then downloaded the U Home app. The app supports multiple types of devices (Security, Power, Locks, Lights). I already have another app that controls about 40 lights, 10 switches and 15 power outlets and 8 cameras. I don't plan on migrating any of these to the U Home App. A few of my devices support Apple Home with Thread (Matter) Wi-Fi. I use Google Home and Alexa, but never with my locks so far, not sure this will change. I also have a SmartThings hub, a Thread Hub and multiple Z Wave hubs (as well as Zigbee). So everything that UltraLoq supports I have a means of communicating with. The included QR code made it very easy to add the lock to the app for initial set up. The app made it easy to enroll fingerprints (for one or more users), to set up a WiFi and Bluetooth (for Auto Unlock) and to set up electronic keys (each with a person assigned). Since I have a separate door handle, the auto open only opens the deadbolt. You still need to turn the knob to open the door (so it's not truly auto open). The app said I needed to update the firmware, it took multiple times for it to complete correctly, but it did eventually so I moved on (-1 star, puzzling why). I have very strong wifi throughout my house, after setting it up, I wish the application had a means to tell me the wifi strength it was receiving. The function I like most is I can make sure the door is locked at a specific time every night and can tell me if the door is open or closed. The door has a self closure on it so knowing if it's locked is nice, if it's open is not as likely for me. So I've programmed it to lock at 9pm and 11pm. I've now set it up for 5 family members and made several programmable eKeys (for workers that I can limit time of day and delete entirely). The logging function works as expected. On one occasion after I reset my router the lock would not work. I removed a battery and everything reconnected properly. I'm glad I was on the right side of the door when this happened. I've had other wifi outages that did not have any effect. So far I'm pretty happy with it, but not ready to buy more until I determine what the battery life will be.

The lock on our vacation rental property is very old so I wanted to replace it with something that has new technology, where I can lock/unlock it remotely if necessary, and I can assign separate codes for our renters. I went with the Ultraloq Bolt Fingerprint lock it has not only met but exceeded my expectations. Installation went very smoothly. If you have replaced door locks/knobs before then this should be a breeze for you. If not, the instructions walk you through the steps very clearly making it a simple process. The bolt/lock fit our door perfectly with no modifications necessary. Once installed, the directions instruct you to download the app for the lock and setup an account. There are also setup instructions if you do not want to use the app, but I found the app to be very useful and actually essential when setting up my fingerprint on the sensor. I tried setting up the fingerprint using the manual method but I could not get it to work, not sure why. Once I tried it with the app it accepted my fingerprint the first time and works great for unlocking the lock quickly. The app is very useful, I love that I can lock/unlock the door remotely from our home 100 miles away, it gives me great assurance. The app also maintains a log so I know when our renters arrive/depart, etc. I’ve only been using the lock for a few days but it has worked perfectly and looks great, too. This is my first U-tec product, and I can see on the app that they make various smart home products such as lighting, outlets, security, etc., all of which can be controlled by the same app. The Ultraloq lock works so well I will definitely be looking into getting more of their products. Highly recommended.

Amazing door lock! The installation was very easy. Maybe took around 10 minutes to install the door lock itself. The build quality seems as expected. No complaints there. I love the fact that it has a fingerprint reader. I’m glad I got the one that does because it’s much easier for many of my family members rather than having them pull out their phone to unlock it. Apple HomeKit works amazing too. That is the main reason I bought this product. I have had no issues getting HomeKit to work. I love that I can share the lock with family members and I also like that I can generate a one time password to let guests in the house when I’m not home. I would recommend it.

The Ultraloq Bolt Fingerprint edition is a nice piece of hardware. With a handsome brushed metal finish, a fingerprint sensor that works every time, and the ability to input up to a an 8 digit entry code, there’s not much to complain about. I picked up the Bolt for my garage entry door, so it is for an indoor installation, but the Bolt is more than capable of being placed outside with an IP65 rating. I needed something I could install between my garage and home that was easy to lock/unlock and could be controlled via an app to let kids in and out. The Bolt has a great, heavy feel to it. I like how the numbered keypad is in a horseshoe shape around the keyhole, instead of the small numbered keypads that many locks come with. That combined with an oversized fingerprint sensor that never failed to open the door for me first try, made this lock a pleasure to use. But before I get ahead of myself, installation was as simple as the box the lock comes in says it is. I probably spent 10 minutes taking off the old lock and placing the Bolt on the door, and that includes installing the included door sensor which can detect whether the door is open or not. The Bolt has a lot of functionality, including some options I didn’t use or won’t end up using, but what I did use functioned perfectly. I downloaded the app, created an account (you don’t have to if you don’t want to, the Bolt can be installed without an app, but with reduced functionality), and it found my lock immediately. I set up an input code, set up my fingerprint, calibrated the door sensor, and set up access for everyone in my family with their fingerprints. Start to finish, with installation, probably took 30 minutes. I feel like the real value to the Bolt is its fingerprint accuracy. I’ve had several fingerprint-type electronic locks that have driven me and my family crazy. A little dirt on the finger, if it was cold outside; these types of things could totally mess with trying to open those locks. Not the Bolt! It opened first try everytime, and the keypad was extremely easy to type our entry codes on. I was very pleased. Only con for me was the amount of batteries this thing takes. 8 batteries is quite a bit, and fitting them into the case was a little frustrating. And when the time comes to replace them, that’s an awful lot of batteries to have on hand. Although, Ultraloq claims double the lifespan of the batteries, and industry-leading battery life. All in all though, I give the Bolt Fingerprint edition five stars. It worked with my Alexa without an issue, it handles fingerprint entry like no other lock I’ve owned, I love the ring-shaped keypad, and it functions perfectly.

    Ultraloq Fingerprint Deadbolt

I got the Ultraloq Bolt Fingerprint Smart Lock to replace my front door deadbolt. I watched the YouTube video on how to install it just to make sure I understood as it's really cold out and I didn't want to waste any time having my door open or a hole for a breeze to come through. Installation was pretty easy, as they say 'retrofit'. What I wanted was to be able to use my existing keys but that doesn't seem possible. It does come with a set of keys though so that works just fine. Point being if the batteries were to die or the power was out my Wi-Fi wasn't working, there would still be a way to use this deadbolt the old-fashioned way. The fingerprint option is really cool and seems to work flawlessly for me. You can use your standard smart home apps with this lock, like Google Home and Apple Home which make this easy since it's less apps to have to manage, and there's also the U Home App. The auto sensor is a little ugly, sticking out from the side, but I do like that it's a feature, so I'll deal with it sticking out, most everything in my house is white so it's not terrible. I like how the keypad lights up. I am concerned about battery life, it says it'll last a year, that's 8 AA batteries! So, time will tell if that's the case. Another cool feature of this lock is that you can use random numbers before and after your actual key code, in case you need to confuse people on what the code actually is, and as long as you've entered the right sequence somewhere in there it'll unlock - but you do just have the fingerprint option. The ability to see on the app whether your door is locked or open is really nice, I appreciate that as much as I appreciate the app for my car that lets me monitor whether my doors are unlocked or locked. It gives great peace of mind. Firmware will need to be updated once you got it set up. Overall, this feels like a quality smart lock, it's easy to use, easy to install and the app works well. I'm happy with it and feel secure using it.

I've spent the last week testing the Ultraloq Bolt Fingerprint WiFi Smart Lock. Overall, it's a well-built, reliable, easy-to-install and program. Installation was incredibly intuitive, taking only about 15 minutes from start to finish. I didn't even need the instructions. This is the first smart lock I've installed that doesn't wiggle or shift when manually operating the bolt, a common issue with some less expensive models. Also, it uses 8 AA batteries so it should last longer than most locks. A standout feature is the ease of creating user accounts. The U Home app makes it simple to create individual passcodes and register two fingerprints for each family member. Operating the lock is a breeze. A simple tap of a finger instantly unlocks the bolt. The keypad is clearly visible in daylight, and the backlit keys make nighttime use just as easy. Locking and unlocking from inside of the house is effortless thanks to the smooth latch operation. The U Home app also provides the added convenience of checking the lock's status and provides the ability to open or close it remotely. The key, however, is a bit unusual. It's quite long and has a non-standard shape, likely due to added security features. While the lock is advertised to integrate with Apple Home, Google Assistant, and Amazon Alexa, I only saw the Alexa option in the app. This could be due to the lock being brand new and the app needing an update. Personally, I probably wouldn't use the smart home integration anyway. With All that said, this is an excellent, well built smart lock and I absolutely recommend it.

This is such a convenience over the standard bolt lock I replaced. The fingerprint scanner seems to work great so far, and the physical key backup gives me a lot of peace of mind that I won’t get locked out if the batteries die or the network goes down. My only complaint is that there’s a door position sensor that sticks out from the wall when mounted and looks like it could be easy to break off if I bump it coming through the doorway. PROS: I love the multiple ways to open the door. I am using the fingerprint scanner most often. The key codes are perfect for giving temporary access to a friend or maintenance person. TBH I almost don’t even need the network (I am using Apple Home) connection but it may come in handy to be able to unlock the door when I’m away from home, if someone gets locked out or if a guest arrives before I do. The lock keeps a log of every lock and unlock, so I can see who operated it and when. Really fantastic. Installation was pretty simple overall. It would be nice to have the matching passage lever door handle—I might upgrade in the future. Auto-lock when the door closes is my favorite feature. So convenient! CONS: Setup is possible without the app, but it’s a bit awkward. I was glad to have the app, since it took me a few tries to get the configuration right with the position sensor. The app and Apple Home both work together, but there’s a trick to the order you have to set things up. The instructions were clear, but I tried to set it up without the app first and when I wanted to use the app I had to reset the lock and start over. There is a small position sensor that goes on the door frame to allow the lock to know whether the door is closed. Once I got it set up, it seems to work great, but it took about 3 tries to calibrate it properly. The way it’s mounted, it sticks out awkwardly from the door frame. At best, it looks really tacky. At worst, it’s going to break off when someone bumps it coming through the doorway. I imagine there’s probably a way to mount it inconspicuously behind the trim or flush with the trim, but the installation guide didn’t offer any suggestions for doing this and it would take some additional woodworking tools and expertise.

The Ultraloq Lock has been a fantastic addition to my garage’s back door. Installation was incredibly easy and took just 15 minutes. The auto-unlock feature is a game-changer—every time I drive home, the door unlocks seamlessly, which adds so much convenience to my daily routine. The fingerprint sensor is very reliable and recognizes every family member’s fingerprint without any issues. The lock also supports Apple HomeKit, which is a great bonus, though I’m still exploring all the features it offers. Overall, it’s a great smart lock that I highly recommend!

The Ultraloq fingerprint bolt system comes with everything you need for a safe secure idiot proof lock system. Complete with over the top instructions and links for install videos. I used the video route to install my lock. They were spot on, it took maybe 30 minutes to swap out my old deadbolt system for the Ultraloq. The only issue I had was my fault and not smart lock. I couldn’t get the lock to extend fully when the door closed. I just had to file the strike ever so slightly to get it fully closed. Once I was sure the lock fully extended when the door was closed. I installed the Batteries (8) the lock beeped and flashed a green light, ready to go. Following the instructions, I made sure the lock operated as it should and then installed the app. The app is very good. I was able to add my family, give them their own door codes and register their fingerprints. I love that there are multiple ways to unlock the door, keys, codes or prints. I tested how many batteries it actually takes to operate the lock, I removed 4 and it still worked. It takes 8. It’s nice to know that if a few fail you are still ok. I was unable to test the Apple home feature as I am an android guy. The android app is sufficient. You can see the open and close logs, give temp access during dates or times, further you can add pictures to personalize it further. Auto Lock is a nice feature, the system will auto lock after a time set to your liking in case you forget. This can be turned on or off. Auto unlock is very handy, the app runs in the background (may use extra battery) and will unlock when you are near. Great for when you have your hands full. I find that this system meets our family’s needs perfectly. I would recommend this to family and friends.

So I got this for my elderly parents home and was expecting a phone call every two minutes trying to figure it all out. The installation of the device and the app on theirs and mine phone was the only thing I helped with. They were able to figure this out --- mostly because of the extensive WiFi based capabilities. They have Alexa all through the house so they were very pleased to be able to just tell her "lock the front door" or just do it with the app this bolt lock comes with. Instead of having to mess around with finding the right key for the door, or even if I need to swing by and I don't have their house key with me, I can just enter the code and/or use my fingerprint. I have their app as well so I get all the notifications when the door is locked, unlocked etc. As with anything, it does still need to stand the test of time, and I am curious how it will withstand the elements, as far as weather, extreme cold/hot temps, etc but the device even came with a card for contacting them just in case the device is defective. That is a telltale sign of a quality product with quality customer service to back it up.

Solid and easy to use! I have been using their lock for my garage entrance and front entrance for my past residence and I continued to use them for my current home as well.

Bought this in January, and have replaced the batteries three times since installing it because the fingerprint and buttons wouldn’t work and I had to use the physical key to unlock the door which makes the device useless. Now the lock button has stopped working and the key is needed to lock the door! The return window has closed and so far trying the manufacturer for support has been unsuccessful. I’d look elsewhere for a smart lock, this one is a fail.

This is my first experience with Ultraloq. Having never heard of them before, I was a little weary. nAfter doing some research, I discovered they do design and manufacture decent quality equipment. They are sed in Califirnia but manufactured in China. That is not uncommon. My first hands on experience backed my research up. This is a quality lock with a good mass aand build qualiy. Install was as expected, pretty easy. That being said, I have installed several locks and door handles over the years. If you are not very experienced or handy, I would reccomend buying a handy neighbor or friend a nice adut libation in return for their experience and let them install it for you. I didn't necessarily "time" the install, but it was probably twenty minutes or so. Once insstalled, set up and operation took another few minutes between the app and setting up wifi, codes and fingerprints. Once it was operational, the lock was surprisingly robust in build quality and confidence. It also offfered a great deal of flexability in granting one time or temporary codes. The fingerprint capability is also a nice feature. End of the day, this is a great choice and I wouldreccomend it to a friend.

I’ve used a few different smart locks in my home the past few years and once you have one you won’t go back to traditional locks. When I saw this Ultraloq model I knew right away I wanted to give it a try for one main feature that you don’t really see in the smart lock space – PHYSICAL BUTTONS! More on that later. Installation is incredibly easy, even if you’ve never swapped out a deadbolt before or don’t consider yourself “handy”. It even comes with video instructions to follow along with if you need them. a novice could install this lock in less than 15 mins using only a screwdriver, if you have a standard entry door sizing. If you have a door or existing locks that are odd size, you might want to consult with someone for help. The lock does say it’s Black and while the front facing panels of the exterior lock fact and interior panel are black, the lock is actually a silver metal color all around the casing/frame on both sides. So there’s actually more silver in black. A small nitpick sure, but my front door is all black and I like having all block locks, so the shiny silver frame was something to get used to. But in no way a deal breaker. Setup is also incredibly easy. Open the associated Utec app and pair the lock to it. It found it incredibly fast and after joining your wifi network and performing a quick firmware updated, you can then associate the lock to your home and start granting access to yourself and family/friends. The app has you create your first account which it default assigns as the Admin user. From there you can create pin codes for yourself, scan your fingerprints, etc. Also using the app and available smart home systems to unlock directly from the app, etc. You can then create additional Admin users that can read/write settings, Normal users who have all the features but cannot change settings, and then Temporary users who you determine when they can use the lock and with what associated method. Super easy. Fingerprint scanning is super fast and takes 6 different scans of your fingerprint to ensure that however you place your finger on the scanner it will work. Auto lock is incredible and so far over the last week has worked 100% of the time. The lock does make a slight motor noise, a little louder than my previous lock did, but nothing too drastic. You can even geofence the lock to lock and unlock when you leave the house and return home, no need to even fingerprint or open the app, the lock will sense your phone is nearby and lock/unlock based on your settings. You have all the expected settings in the app at your disposal. From Battery percentage and smart notifications to Auto Lock and Unlock and HomeKit pairing. It also comes with a Door Sensor that you place on the door frame so the lock knows exactly when the door is open and closed. It will show the status in the app and can even have different alarms or notifications set for open door duration times, great for when people are coming and going outside of normal traffic so you can confirm the door was shut. Also great for temporary users to ensure they shut the door behind them. You can also view detailed logs of all the locks activity. Pairing to Apple HomeKit was super fast as well. Simply scan the QR code on the lock and Apple HomeKit recognized it right away and added it to my Apple Home so I can quickly use my iPhone Home shortcuts to immediately lock and unlock the door. Now back to the physical buttons I mentioned earlier. Outside of the apps and fingerprints, you get two machined physical keys as well, but the buttons on the keypad are physical buttons. They have a nice firm click and good travel, and the keypad lights up so you can see what you’re doing in the dark. But the reason I really wanted to try this lock is because the previous locks I’ve used had all digital keypads. They are great for sure, but being on my front door, they do get exposed to different amounts of sunlight throughout the year. Well what can happen is an all digital keypad display can begin to delaminate from the lock. What does that mean? It means the touchpad begins to unseal itself from the sensors behind it, and that can lead to ghost touches and then the lock not being able to be used as a smart lock at all because the keypad constantly thinks something is touching it. With this Ultraloq, that cannot happen because the buttons are physical! I love this about this lock, it’s my favorite feature. All screen devices are great, but sometimes, it’s nice to have physical buttons… In my use the Ultraloq has been quite the performer. I love this lock and expect it to be on my front door for years to come.
