This isnt my first detector however its ny 1st directly wired to my battery. Its super efficient as I no longer have to worry about juggling space in the outlets for tablets or phone chargers. It automatically activates once the car is started. Since buying this cord I honestly couldnt see converting back to the traditional cigarette/outlet power port. Id rather use those to power something else. The option makes everything look sleek and professional. This was installed in less than 30mins by the geek squad and I can honestly say I am 1000% satisfied.

While I was hesitant to buy the hardware kit at first, I use just the unit for about two or three months decided that I love the convenience of having a radar, but I hate having to unplug it and plug it back in every time I get in my car and I finally cute and spent the money on the hardware kits was probably one of the best decisions I made in a while. Looks 100 times better no more wires hanging down from my windshield to my dash overall just looks clean

I recently purchased the Uniden Hardwire Kit to hardwire my Uniden R8 into my vehicle, and overall, I’m very satisfied with the experience. Installation was straightforward. The kit includes everything you need.

Easy install. Plenty of wire. Works as advertised but the mute button seems to be wearing out. Have to push it multiple times to get it to work.

It gives your radar a nice steath look without the power cord hanging from cigarette lighter. I always liked direct power option.

Bought this so I could have the cord hidden at running to the top of my windshield. Geek Squad installed it in about 2 hours. I had them hide the alert/mute box underneath my dash because it’s an unnecessary item. All in all, it works like it’s suppose too.

Does exactly what it should do, had an R3 that I was not using much b/c I hated the cord in my way, this solves the problem, BBY did a great job installing it as well.

Got to have when installing a uniden radar detector. You can connect to the fuse box and it has it s own fuse - clean and nice install with the mute button

It's what I wanted and easy to install. Put it close to where you can reach it so you don't have to take your eyes off the road. I would buy again.

Really easy to set up. Having the quick mute button makes the set up much easier.
