Good tv when I got it. GREAT tv now. During the setup process it would never connect for the updates, it would freeze during the downloads and then the screen would turn blue then it would try again. Progress bar stayed at zero. For the first week it would not connect to the “home page”. The only way you can access Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, etc. it wasn’t my internet connection either. Check speeds several times. Then one day everything was right as rain.

I mean it’s a TV. But I wish I knew that buying a TV nowadays means u are buying the interface. Ease of use, how many apps are available, showing your last watched shows. Vizio has the worst interface. They also forced me to create an account when I wanted to download the A&E app. The picture is fine. You will need a soundbar if u are picky or want to have decent sound. I’ve had it a couple years, but I wouldn’t ever buy Vizio again.

I recently purchased this in the 50 inch size for a guest bedroom. Quick and easy connection to my wifi and seamless setup. All of my current streaming services were available and connected without a hitch. Pleasantly surprised to find Dolby Vision programming on my Netflix subscription. I would recommend a soundbar for optimal audio. I found a deal on a Vizio 5.1 set-up. The smart cast app is handy, as well as the voice remote. Picture quality is good but not perfect. I recommend using the different picture settings until you find what looks best for your particular room setting. What's not mentioned in the specs is that bluetooth audio is now available with the latest download. I added my android phone and several pairs of bluetooth earbuds. At this price and performance level, highly recommended.

For a budget 4k option, this is not a bad pick, but it does come with some caveats. The most important component, picture quality, is great! Colors are good, contrast is good, and overall resolution is terrific - no complaints there. The software leaves a lot to be desired though. The app navigation on the homescreen is pretty bad, it's just one insanely long list of applications in a row that takes forever to scroll through. The advantage here is that it does come with a pretty huge selection of apps preinstalled, though it lacks the ability to install additional apps without jailbreaking. In general the software speed is pretty rough - navigating menus, changing volume, and scrolling through lists are all pretty sluggish. Updates since I originally bought the device about a year ago have made the experience a little better however, so it could improve more with time. Wifi connectivity is solid, I've had very few issues in most apps with dropouts or buffering, with some rare exceptions in apps like funimation. Speakers are bad - you'll definitely want a proper secondary sound system. It's also not great for gaming. Response times are pretty terrible, and there's a lot of smearing in higher paced games. In general, I'd say if you're sticking strictly to media consumption through streaming services, this TV will do a solid job at a very fair price point. If you're looking to do anything outside of that, I think it'd be worth investing a little bit more money in something that'll provide better performance.

Hello Bowen, as televisions continue to have larger screens with thinner profiles and sleeker bezels, there is less room for large speakers. To help get the best audio quality out of your VIZIO televisions speakers, we’ve included settings like DTS Studio Sound to provide the highest performance possible, while maintaining the thin, sleek, bezel-less profile of your television. If you’d like any help adjusting your audio settings feel free to contact VIZIO support at 844-254-8087. For top of the line audio performance, you may also look into purchasing a VIZIO Sound Bar, there are several models available with wireless subwoofers for enhanced bass, rear speakers for true surround sound, and our new line of Atmos Sound Bars.

MADE IN USA. #1 reason I bought. This is like any other tv. Picture & Sound nice; a lot of other settings options. I like that this updates needed/requested changes for the good. I dont like the legs; much prefer center stand style so I can place better on stand instead of needing 46" stand. I dont like that there is no 'recent channel/return button' on remote; I like to 2 channels at once.

I’m not very happy with this purchase. There’s a few things I don’t like such as volume, Home Screen set up, and that some apps aren’t available to download such as spectrum. The remote is EXTREMELY delicate and any little tap will change what your watching to another app or to the Home Screen. The remote volume also constantly always gets stuck so if I click the up button the 3 times it will raise the volume all the way up to 100 and it’s unpleasantly slow. I hope I just got a bad batch because I have another Vizio tv and it definitely isn’t this horrible.

Quality TV & Room for Improvement

It took some time to receive my first TV, the wait was worth it. I really enjoy how clean the pictures are while I'm playing my video games. The quality brightness adds more to the video game experience.
There have two small issues I have with my V-series model, J-509: 1) I was frustrated with the box only providing the feet stand for my TV; when I knew I was going to mount mine on a TV stand. I think an improvement can be to include the correct mounting hardware that can improve the experience for future Vizio customers. 2) Due to my model, downloading apps to my TV isn't an option. It would be nice to download apps so I have room on my phone for other apps.
Vizio V-series is a great TV for first-time buyers and has multiple benefits compared to other brands. I think with some improvements, it will be provide stronger reasons for people to buy from them

The colors on this are far better than my last 4k tv. They are very detailed and vibrant. Whatever gaming technology they use also makes games look amazing. I also like the fact that you can completely change how you want things to look(how bright/dark, cool/warm) in the settings.
The minor drawbacks are that the sound is just average. Also it tilts slightly back on the stand.
These are both very minor issues though considering how great everything looks.

Very nice quality for the price. Never thought I needed a larger screen TV but the color and sound within the TV itself does not require additional speakers for a typical house. non-gamer. Ease of set up with prior ROKU account and others was appreciated.

Best little (smaller than 50”) TV for the price

Best little (smaller than 50”) TV for the price! We already had a Vizio P series TV we use for our entertainment area and we’re looking to replace a 1080p 42” TV in another room. We stuck with Vizio and glad we did. Like that the remote control app can see both TVs on the same network. Same basic controls and features for both the high end offering and this budget offering.
Wife loves the screen-off mode for night time story reading - hold mute for 5 seconds and the screen will blank itself while keeping sound playing like normal.
All of the great Apps are included - including Apple TV which we use the most. No complaints, easy to use and excellent price point.
