Many appreciate the TV's setup and lightweight design, along with its vibrant colors and selection of apps. However, some users experienced issues with the SmartCast system, remote control functionality, and volume control. Overall, the positive feedback on picture quality and ease of use outweighs the negative comments regarding specific features.

This tv has a great picture and very lightweight. You can’t find a better value at this size and features. I love the free channels. The only bad thing is the speakers. I’ve tried multiple settings but still falls flat on loud scenes. Maybe it’s a balance between that and the Apple TV.

I bought this TV at about $299 when it was on a clearance sale or something. Assembly was easy except for one of the screw holes in one of the legs didn't quite line up with its screw hole in the TV, but I managed to force the screw through after a few minutes of increasingly desperate jiggling and pushing. It's not heavy so you should be able to move it around on your own (but due to its size its obviously safer that you get some help to move or hang it). Its appearance is essentially what you see in the promotional pictures: a big black thin rectangle. I've had the TV for almost a month (as of writing this review) and have had no reason to complain about it's quality. Picture is as good as you should expect from any TV in 2020, and sound quality is fine for me, though you might want to use a separate sound system if you want a sound quality that's better than fine. SmartCast is a decent Smart TV operating system and comes with pretty much any app the average user would want to use, even some that aren't particularly well known. You could try to explore some of them to expand your TV/Movie/Documentary/etc. horizons. The remote has buttons that'll take you directly to 6 apps (most people will be happiest with Netflix, Hulu, and Prime Video being 3 of them). UI is not particularly better or worse than other OS's, they seem to use the same format these days, and I haven't found it to be slow. If you want a 50-inch Smart TV, getting this one should not be a mistake unless you end up receiving a defective or broken model.

stupid good picture, refresh is 60hz but for the price range what more could you ask for? The remote is nice, has quick buttons to hit your favorites, like netflix, hulu, disney plus, amazon etc. Wish my other tv's integrated these buttons, they are no brainers. Quick to setup, light enough for a single person to set up with care. Recommend a friend just incase though!

Using this as a 2nd monitor for my computer in my classroom so not using many of its features but the picture quality is outstanding. Some of the fancy screen backgrounds with the thousands of colors look amazing. Have used the speakers and satisfied with their sound. Was easy to mount to the mounting bracket. Very happy with purchase and for $300 happy with price.

    Vizio 505-H19 Review

I have the tv for 2 weeks now and I must say the picture quality of the tv is really good for the price. I own 4k movies with Dolby and they look awesome even when I stream them using Vudu and Moviesanywhere but they do not come out UHD on Youtubetv. I am giving it a 2 star because the smart cast does not work often. when I stream movies thru the amazon app, the sound is not syncing (lag). I have to restart the TV by unplugging it (wouldn't work by just turning off/on). Also, I connected it to my echo dot so I can use the voice command, unfortunately it does not pick up my voice/accent. This could also lead to accidentaly turning on the TV while just talking or asking "Alexa". If you can live to be patient and constantly reseting the TV, this may work for you.

Hello ugloid, thank you for taking time to leave us your feedback today. When using apps like YouTube, the TV will automatically display the highest resolution possible as it receives from that application. Sometimes that resolution is effected by your network connections and the specific show or content being watched. Typically, a lip sync issue can be narrowed down with troubleshooting. If the lip sync is off while watching content on your favorite apps, that indicates that we would want to troubleshoot network connections. If the lip sync issues only happen on cable or satellite boxes, we will then want to troubleshoot settings on each individual device. For assistance with an Echo Dot device, I would recommend to contact Amazon support for assistance with the voice recognition features. Please don't hesitate to reach out to our support team on support.VIZIO.com by clicking 'Contact Us'. We'd appreciate the chance to try and help you with any issues that might persist. VIZIO

Overall great value for money. Same set is selling on Amazon and Ebay for a lot more. Light weight and easy to configure/ setup to a stand. Initial OS setup was a little buggy - requiring multiple OS upgades and then individual software (netflix, amazon upgrades). It would be useful to have more descriptive messages walking a user through that. In the one month since purchase, the TV has "hung" once and required a full reboot. I dont see that as a major issue - it happens with a PC just as often when new software is being downloaded as soon as you setup a new PC.

I have had nothing but Samsung TV's for about 7 years now. Last week my 2 year old Samsung LED got these black blob-ish vertical stripes. I was pretty disappointed considered my Samsung plasmas are about 7 years old and still look great. Looked it up online and found that it's a very widespread and common problem with Samsung LEDs so thought I'd try a different brand. Did a ton of research and read a ton of review and ultimately decided on the Vizio V505 H-19. A bunch of places said it was comparable to the Samsungs and good for gaming. Got it yesterday and hooked it up. Initially liked it while doing the setup, liked the remote, etc. Once I got everything going I had to mess with the picture settings quite a bit to get it to my liking. I tested it out with live TV, a movie, some Netflix, Hulu, etc. It didn't look as good as my Samsungs but after messing with the picture settings I though I had everything looking to where I could live with and enjoy it. I did notice occasionally there would be a commercial or a certain scene in something where it would get pretty washed out looking. I also noticed the text on sports scores/tickers and such wasn't near as crisp and "in focus" as all my Samsungs. I'm a graphic designer for a living so look at detail and color all day for a living. I would notice if I had a half millimeter dead spot on my tv. My wife is the opposite. One of our Samsung plasmas has a thing where on white or light backgrounds you see this kind of flicker of purple. It's 8 years old so it's probably the gas going out or something. I notice it, she does not. She doesn't notice any of that kind of stuff. She came in the room to check out the new Vizio. I put on some college football game replay from last weekend. I asked her if she felt the text just didn't look that crisp or "in focus". She said absolutely. But her next comment is what really got me. She said "put it on a game that was more recent instead of this old one". I told her it was from last weekend. She said the picture looked like I was watching some old 80's or 90's classic game. That was the strike one. The other thing that drove me insane was when I hooked up my PS4 with HDMI cable, it looked darkish and not sharp so I tried to go adjust the settings and the majority of them were greyed out and I couldn't adjust them. I called Vizio, they said it was PS4 issue, I called Playstation support, they said it was a Vizio issue. Also called Geek Squad and they were great but didn't really know as they hadn't really run into this before. No matter what HDMI port I used or what I did those picture settings were always greyed out. Strike 2. Strike 3 was overall I just felt like it wasn't near as vibrant, crisp or sharp as my Samsungs. The picture just overall seemed washed out, darkish and not crisp (no matter how much I cranked the sharpness or color) and was inconsistent from scene to scene, channel to channel, commercials, etc. Some stuff would look good but the next scene or different channel/show wouldn't. Also the sound was pretty bad compared to the Samsungs although I have to say that the simulated surround sound was actually pretty good. Decided to return it today and get another Samsung (got the SU 7000) but got the 5 year protection plan so if there is this widespread "black blob" problem with Samsung LEDs at least I'm covered for 5 years. Got the Samsung home and hooked up and it's literally like night and day. Picture is so vibrant and crisp, sound is great but my favorite thing is with the PS4/HDMI. The Samsung has a gaming mode that you can set to auto, on or off. When you set up the TV the first time I'm pretty sure it defaults to auto. But even in auto you can still adjust the most important picture setting even though "picture mode" is greyed out. All you have to do is go and turn the gaming mode to off and you then have all the other picture modes available and more settings open up. So, clearly the PS4/picture settings greyed out issue with the Vizio is a Vizio issue and not a PS4 issue. If you don't really care that much about this detailed stuff and just need a TV to watch and want to save a few bucks, go for the Vizio. It's not awful or anything, just not what I was used to after having only Samsungs for so long. It did have some cool features with the interface and SmartCast. If you do care about this detailed stuff...I just don't think you can beat the Samsungs (especially the picture) for the $300-$500 range TVs. I would just recommend if you buy a Samsung LED you get that 5 year protection plan just to be covered in case you get the dreaded "black blob" problem after 2 years like I did.

I had an 8 year old TV amd have been keeping am eye on prices for awhile. I dont need amything gancy, but dod wamt a smart tv with a decent picture. The price on this TV was hard to beat so i finally took the plunge. It is decent TV and the picture is clear and crisp. It has the apps that i use (minus HBOMAX and ESPN, i still need my roku.) Can't add apps which is a bummer and does not have bluetooth capability. It does have built in chromecast, a plus. The first week i had it it froze on me twice (remote would not work, would not turn on or off) but after unplugging and restarting it has not done it again. Good tv for under 300.

Works very well. Good picture and easy to adjust settings from the simple menu. Splendid TV for this low price. I'm very pleased. I chose Vizio because all the models seem to have analog out which is paramount for my McIntosh sound system.

Fantastic for the price! Casting, Apple TV streaming app is there, and tons of other apps (you can rearrange and add on or even remove) make this TV a no brained plus the more Vizio atV’s in your house, the easier it is to stream from any device. Serious easiness.

TV works incredibly well paired with my Fire TV Cube. 4K looks amazing and smooth. Very pleased with the quality for the price. The only issue I've noticed is when I try watching something through the vizio app and not my fire TV it only streams in 720p even if it's a 4k video. Since I have the fire TV this issue doesn't really bother me so it still earns 5 stars for me.

I've been using the same tv gifted to me in secondary school, so I was in dire need of a new tv. I've had my eye on Samsung's Series 7 and 8 tv but I couldn't bring myself to fork out close to $500 for a tv that could be stolen or broken. Thankfully, I continued to window-shop and found this steal! For what I paid, I am insanely impressed! From the ease of both hardware and software setup, to the apps available in the home dashboard, to the brightness settings, this tv has it all! The only issue I have is that the remote does not offer light-up keys, so I have to shine my phone or turn on my lights to select different options if it's nighttime. Other than the remote, I think the tv offers more bang for the buck compared to other brands.

Overall, I'm happy with this television. It was easy to set up by myself. It was not too heavy or awkward that I could not move it alone. The only thing I didn't know in advance is that it is limited to the apps that can be used. My thought was that I could just load all the apps that I was using on my Roku to the TV. That was not the case. Fortunately, I could continue to use the Roku. Actually, I decided to upgrade that to a 4K Roku to have similar technologies.

This is my 3rd Vizio Tv and my favorite brand. I love that right on the remote I can get to my favorite apps, Hulu, Netflix, etc. My last vizio tv didn't have the hulu app to this was a great addition. The quality is great, and I am very happy with my decision to purchase another Vizio TV. The only reason I had to get a new one was because I had knocked over my tv by accident and cracked the screen. Otherwise, the original vizio tv was purchased in 2016, and still worked great! Also love the ability to add an extra protection plan on top of the 1 year manufacturers warranty, because you never know what could happen!
