This heater moves at least 3 times more heated air than my other two small electric space heaters combined, and this Vornado Velocity 5R draws less power than the other two heaters combined set on their low 750 watt settings. More hot air flowing in the space and less power used equals greater efficiency and greater comfort. This unit has an intelligent thermostat which soft stops and soft starts as it heats the space. I like the fact this unit can be set at a specific digital temperature setting, instead of guessing with the unmarked generic mechanical thermostats.

Operating works fine except when on 70° for a period of time there’s a slight noise like bearings but below or above the temperature very quiet. I love the way it operates. That’s my only complaint. It might be just this unit.

I love this space heater. I have 2. They heat up the room quickly. I never turned on my house heating over the Phoenix AZ winter. I have had other space heaters that created a smell. These did not. Easy to use. Light weight to move to rooms.

This little heater is a life saver it works so well heats up my whole office. Its quiet and has a timer or you can just set the desired temperature. It even has a remote.

This is our 3rd Vornado heater over the last 12 years. It does a good job in the one room we use it. They seem to last 5 or six years. We have no issues with them until they wear out.

This investment just permitted me back my large bedroom this winter here in Colorado. I also wanted something that could also be turned and pointed toward my bathroom for a quick warm-up in the mornings and a tower heater just couldn't create a better effect for me. Upon first plugging in, my [poorly ventilated] bedroom was 62 degrees according to the machine... The frost on my windows had me agreeing that temperature was accurate. After about 10 minutes the room was very noticeably on par with the rest of the apartment at 72 degrees. Thank God. Thank you Vornado. Now I'm cheating and warming my room up to 76 lol, but the building heater on the other side of the apartment doesn't have to work so hard to warm my room, and my flatmate doesn't have to be heated out of his bedroom. Final thing worth mentioning is the fan creates the perfect white-noise for me. I can't run my ceiling fan in the winter, and now I don't have to hear all the noises of other apartment units around me. This little feller is the best investment I've made for winter months. My only CON: Best Buy... Y'all need to calm down with your prices.

Excellent heater keeps the bedroom very warm. I love it.

This heater's fan speeds of low and high are not set, single speeds. When in low the fan cycles from a low to a low-high speed every few minutes. The low-high speed is louder than the base high speed setting so it defeats the purpose of low! The high speed setting cycles from high to high-high and I can't tolerate being in the room when it is on high because of the second higher speed. I bought this for my office but quit using it because of the fan speed constantly changing and getting so high I have to turn it off for calls. When you turn it off because it is too loud, it has a 20 second, cool down period with the fan running on high. It is a pain when you were turning it off because you needed to hear clearly. I understand this is a safety feature but it is annoying. I expected it to work like a furnace. Set it to 65, when it gets to 65 it would pause and if the temp falls to 63 or so, it would turn back on but NO the Velocity 5R cycles between the lower and higher speed fan even more frequently than when it was warming the room up to the set temperature. I would not buy again and wish I had taken the time to return it after I bought it. Currently I'm using my 8 year old Lasko. Really disappointed in Vornado. I have one of their fans and it's great but avoid this heater. I've attached photos. It also has a no heat, fan only setting but I haven't used it.

Would recommend if you are trying to heat a small to medium sized room.

The auto climate means that the heater doean't turn off when it hits the desired temperature. It continually runs at a lower setting to maintain the temperature that was set.

Heats up quickly, is small and sturdy. I like the cut off switch on the bottom, which instantly shuts the unit off if it tips over for any reason. Even a slight adjustment I have made to positioning has turned it off immediately. The heater has a remote. You can change the fan speed (high or low are the two options), the temperature level, and even set a timer for it to turn off. This timer can be set for one to five hours. You can turn the power off remotely as well. All those settings are available on the unit itself also. I recommend this unit! A powerful little heater by a reputable company!

This heater has a lot of great features. The timer option is helpful, the interface is intuitive and easy to use, and it comes with a remote. On high mode it is excellent at heating up my office quickly. However, the heater has two flaws in my opinion. The first is that it is fairly loud on the high setting. I'm not sure how loud it is compared to other space heaters with fans, but it's enough that I find it distracting in my home office. Perhaps it would not be as loud on carpeted floors or a larger room (my office is 10' x 10'). The second flaw appears to be intentional, and that is in how the temperature control operates. For whatever reason, Vornado has designed this space heater to continue heating 4 degrees past the set point. So if you set it to 70, it will not automatically turn off until 74. It's worth noting that it will only heat above the setpoint in low mode, even if you have the high heat mode turned on. You could just set the thermostat lower, but for a $100+ heater, I shouldn't have to game the thermostat to get the room temperature I want. As a minor complaint, the thermostat is also off by a few degrees, but I suppose that can happen when something makes its own heat.

Low mode is strong enough to warm up my room. It's super quiet I almost can't tell if it's running or not. I think when it reaches the desired temperature, it will be in "sleep mode" - very quiet. It's small and cute; the design looks sleek. Though the edges sometimes hurt my toes if I accidently hit it with my foot. The controls were quite confusing at first but once I took sometime to figure it out it's ok. The desired temperture and mode are saved and don't need to be adjusted every time. I give 4 stars because: When you move it/lift it up from the ground, the auto-shut kicks it and it's completely off. You have to turn it back on again, and you have to tap twice - not the best situation for someone impatient... And when you turn it off, 20 seconds count down. Why so long?... Sometimes I just lift it up so the auto-shut just shuts it off immediately.

I was looking for a simple, basic Milk house style heater and was wary of this because of the price and lots of "features" I really wasn't after (timer, multiple speeds, etc.). Approaching two years with it, I'm actually happy. The first day or two there was a bit of odor, as is common with heaters. If that is a concern for you, put it in a garage or a sheltered area and run on high for a short time and repeat for a few cycles. Wife & I are using it in a modest size unheated sunroom, and it keeps us at a level we are comfortable with. On the setting we use (you have several options) it quietly runs on High until reaching our selected temperature. The noise on High is about half as loud as a microwave oven. Once temperature is reached, it cycles down to Low to keep air circulating, going back to High when needed. On Low, it is very quiet, quieter than the fan on my PC. One setting is Fan only, so it can serve in that mode, if you choose. There is no filter, and we have pets, so I affixed (taped) a small piece of window screen over the inlet side, easily cleaned when necessary. My only complaint is the price.

Heater has a digital display which was super easy to use and a fan mode for hot days, the Vornado brand is known for the air circulation which this heater provides in both hot mode and air mode. Temperature setting are great and timer works as described. Kept my room very warm and cozy at night! 100% would buy again!

This is a great little heater. Very quiet and heats my room up on the low setting. Great to have a remote and me and my animals sleep very comfortable.
