Its a good NAS for the price when on sale but I can see some of the corners cut. The power cord on the new revision is flimsy to the point that I worry about inflection damage if I ever have to move the unit. It also runs warm during heavy activity and there is no power button. While a NAS is intended to stay powered on all of the time there are occasions that I may want to safely power off. Planned power outages or wheather events etc.

I have 6 easy stores at this point. I like them better than elements (due to lack of power button). The price is always good. I usually wait until it’s about $14-15/TB. That’s best price you will find. The most recent purchase wound up being $13.10/tb when I factored in the $30 in rewards I guess I had accumulated. Great product though. Highly reccomend!

Great for backups but fast enough to work from. Great external drives and very reliable and the price/ TB is hard to beat even compared to similar internal drives. Capacity is insane for the price

Works great. Was worried there'd be some troubleshooting as I'd never used an external drive before but nope, all good: just plug and use. Great capacity too. A new 20TB for ~$250 (on sale) is nothing to scoff at

Great harddrive with ample space for everything I need to save. Very easy to use because of the software that's included. It's also quieter than other drives

Just what I needed because I was running out of space on a 5TB WD portable hard drive. I never thought I would run out of room. This hard drive is essential if you take a lot of digital photos and do videos like I do for YouTube.

What can you say wd always makes good drives. The speed is always fastest with very little on the drive. However, You can count on at least 100MBs read and Wright speeds even with a full drive, which works fine for almost all PC games.

I'm using this 20TB external HDD as one of my backup strategies with my NAS. It works great for that purpose. It's fast enough, for my use as a backup target, and not too loud or power hungry. You cannot go wrong with this drive for one of your backups. Remember, hard drives don't last forever and this should be one of other solutions to your backup strategy, if you have important enough files that you want to keep. Great price point for what it is!

It works okay. It does seem to go into sleep mode quite quickly. It is as loud as the fan on my desk, while the drive is stored under the desk.
The capacity is awesome

Hello Kenneth, We are sorry to hear about your user experience with the drive. Please be informed that hard drives produce some noise when they work. The amount and kind of noise depend on what the hard drive is doing like reading or writing data. It's good to know which sounds are normal and which might mean there's a problem with the hard drive. After using the WD easystore 20TB External USB 3.0 Hard Drive for a couple of weeks, I am absolutely thrilled with its massive storage capacity and performance. I need a ton of storage space for my work and personal files since I'm a photographer and videographer, so the easystore 20TB has been a game changer for me.
In terms of performance, I must say that this hard drive has been extremely reliable so far. I haven’t experienced any issues with the read and write speeds, and it handles large file transfers without any problems. The easystore 20TB remains silent and cool, even when performing resource-intensive tasks.

I own several easystore drives, some of them are always on as backups for huge vide files. Super value, and never failed (so far), especially compared to Seagate. I always buy another one when they're on sale. This is the perfect capacity. I wouldn't use it for editing, but great for backup.

Great drives, and wonderful to have the massage storage space. I have a number of video projects that I've kept on a smaller hard drives over the years, and consolidating those projects into one place has put me more at ease about backing up my projects and has made it easier to clean up clutter for projects I do have. Easy to set up and use, reliable so far. Glad to have a couple of these around.

Works as expected. Massive storage space and doesn’t seem to overheat or make all that much noise. The price seems a little steep, you could just buy multiple smaller ones but for the convenience you are going to pay a bit more.

One thing we all hear is "back up your data". Well this WD Easystore 20TB external drive makes that task a little easier. You can connect it directly to your laptop/desktop/NAS or even many routers and run your favorite backup software to back up your devices. Also you can just copy your data for easy access to individual files. With nearly 20TB of usable storage you can back up everything.
The WD Easystore 20TB External Hard Drive is also excellent for archival storage for things like video files, photos, etc. Many routers support external drives like this one for an easy way to implement a network accessible storage drive.

Nice external hhd

I'm good with everything, 220MB/s is a nice speed of a external HHD. You know, those SSDs claim speeds of up to 1000MB/s, but they usually only reach around 500–600MB/s most of the time.
The only thing I want to complain about is the large charging brick, it blocks 2 to 3 outlets at once. I understand it requires extra power, but I don't get why the charging brick is so much bigger than the 45W or 65W ones for the phone.
