I bought this external portable hard drive to hold my Xbox One game collection and be able to play them on the Xbox Series X console. As expected, the massive 5TB of storage allows you to install as many games as you wish, but it's important to remember that games optimized for the Series X need to be installed on the internal SSD in order to benefit from the superior playability brought about by the console's powerful processor and enhanced graphics capabilities. So far, I have found that regular Xbox One games play perfectly fine on the Series X and load quickly. I highly recommend this fine Western Digital external drive for your gaming needs.

Great storage option for ps5. Easy to use and the price is good

Although SSD options are getting cheaper with 2TB options at great price points, the WD 5tb hard drive is still a great choice. Reliable, fast, durable, well built. It is a great combo with an internal SSD drive.

Bought this for extra storage on my PS5. It is amazing to use to store older games on instead of using the hard drive in the PS5.

WD Black 5TB portable external USB drive is perfect for video backup. It is small (palm size) and thin, easy to carry in backpack together with cameras and lens. It is fast, taking a few minutes to back up my whole day's photos. Now I always carry it with me while on a photo trip. I would certainly recommend this product.

Got this for my PS5 to use as archive for PS4 games and PS5 games that arent in my current rotation. Connected to the rear USB port on the console and it sits out of site in TV console. I found a good price on it and i do like the aesthetic design for what that’s worth. Easy to setup and format. I didnt test speeds but it works as it should.

I use it as extra storage for games on PS5 but it only works for PS4 games and I’m able to download a ton of games on it with no problems and j in still have more storage. Quality is also very good it has a metal finish, it’s really sturdy and will work even if you drop it.

Bought it for and use on a windows PC as an external drive. Works great, fast and simple. Doesnt have the bloat that a lot of external drives have. I use it as extra storage for my home computer not to store secret alien files.

I purchased this item because I kept running out of space on my PS5, After doing my research decided to go with them one. After 2 years of using I still haven’t ran out of space yet. Haven’t had any issues and even purchased one for my son.

I've been dealing with deleting games and making room for new on new ones on my PS5 for a year now, and I'm so glad I finally went out and bought this. It gives you peace of mind as you almost will never have to worry about storage space again. You can store PS5 and PS4 games on it, and can play PS4 games directly from the hard drive. To play PS5 games, you just need to move it back to the internal storage, but it's a quick process. The hard drive itself is very sleek and is actually much smaller than I thought. I had no issues setting it up at all with my PS5, it was very easy to. It's 100% worth the money and I highly recommend it.

Using for my PS5, it plays ps4 games directly from it, but ps5 gsmes have to be copied from here to the internal drive to play, which isnt an issue for me. It works the way it should and speeds are great

Great drive had it for the last few years and it's a champ , no failures , no lost data has worked like a charm , it's compat, portable and reliable, only downsize is the cable is too short but I have it connected all the time to my computer and don't need to move it.

It says in the fine print on the box that this thing is PS5 compatible but can only store PS4 games, which was disappointing, but it turns out that's not accurate -- I tested it and was able to move a PS5 game from the system to the external drive and back again with no issues (you can't run PS5 games off the drive, you can only store them -- but that's true of every external drive). And of course it can also store and run PS4 games. My guess is the packaging was designed sometime last year or early this year, before the PS5 got the system update to allow PS5 games to be stored externally, and they just never updated the packaging. It's decently fast for an HDD. Obviously snail-paced compared to SSDs but the point of buying a drive like this is capacity and affordability, not speed. A 4 or 5 TB external SSD would probably cost much more than the PS5 itself, if you could even find one. Note that my 5 star value rating is in part because I was able to buy it when it was discounted to $100. Its normal MSRP is $150 and I'm pretty sure you can find comparably-sized options for cheaper than that.

Great addition for my series X to store Xbox one and 360 games. Price vs storage was on par at $100 when I purchased. Had to format which was super easy plugged into the Xbox which prompted me to do.

very reliable and with a lot of storage space. I have used this for about a year now and am very pleased with the performance.

Great value does the job 2 years later. Quality durable and speed is enough for my projects.
