This has helped prevent errors that sometimes show up when remnants of the old conflict with the new. This practice didn’t help a few days ago. After the install, a pop up kept showing up saying my PC was at risk and I needed to renew. I thought of uninstalling and reinstalling again but decided to call Geek Squad. The girl was friendly but talked so fast that I could barely keep up. Another technician remoted in to my machine and did a clean install. I followed everything she did. There’s no way I could have done the steps she did. So far no pop ups.

You have to pay for any device after the 1st, so I may have well just brought the 1 for installation for 1 device.

After what I thought was a successful install a red alert started showing up whenever I login saying Webroot needed to be renewed and that my PC was not protected. I called GeekSquad and was told to ignore - not an answer I expected. The support person later routed my call to the next support level. That person remoted in to my machine while I watched and did a more thorough uninstall and reinstall.
