Best Buy can tell whether a keycode has been activated or not in their system. Most, if not all companies can. It is advisable to install immediately as it begins counting down from the day of purchase. If you decide not to use Webroot we wish you the best of luck with whatever security suite you decide to use. It is generally advisable to research and use a product before writing a review.
