Webroot is not free. It is offered as a promotion from Best Buy to acclimate customers to the software. It is also what the Geek Squad uses and recommends. We wish you the best of luck with whatever security suite you decide to use.

The Mac OS can get viruses just like Windows. There are now ransomware variants that specifically target the Mac OS. We advise installing an anti virus solution immediately.
