Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.For a mobile device where processing power is limited this works quite well. the remote database service makes me a bit nervous but considering the machine it is used on is only used for gaming services such as Steam and EA origins, It fits the bill quite nicely. Only time will see if it can stand up to it's competitors for me.

After entering the key, it still said it needed to be activated. After calling Best Buy they told me just to bring the open box back to the store that it was probably just a faulty disc.

The disk has nothing to do with the activation, the product should be activated at purchase and it sounds like they may have failed to do that.
We would advise contacting our support team first and we can check the keycode for you, but you may have to go back to the store and have them activate it.

I have installed it and it does everything it is supposed to do. After one year you will have to pay to keep receiving updates for protection. I personally say it does a good job.

You see, so far, I've had no virus and/or malware to speak of and as a result, it may be due to the fact that I'm very particular about websites and places I visit or the webroot. Truth is, I don't think any of us can really know, unless it doesn't prevent it. Therefore, by default I give it an excellent, b/c I've not had any issues.

It wasn't an expensive computer, so it was nice to get the software for free. It was easy to install, and it seems to do a lot. I didn't have any trouble get it going when I was setting up the new laptop. I will have to pay after the six months are up. I'm not sure if it will be worth it, but it might be easier than switching to something else.
