Using these babies for my dance studio for the parent to view to view the classes going on. They have a great picture for what we are using them for.

I bought this to put in my covered back porch. Works great, excellent picture in all light conditions, and audio is much louder than I anticipated.

I was looking for a good 40 inch 720p TV for my business to show videos at events. Ended up finding his 40 inch 1080p GE TV that has been even better for just a few bucks more. One of my employees liked it so much he bought one for himself! Can't beat it for the price.

Very good tv for the price colors are off some but you can adjust it to what you want I do love the tv I hooked up to a ceiling mount looks good

Pros: Price of only $149 for a 1080p TV. Digital pickup of signals is great (equals or exceeds all other digital TV receivers I have used) USB port helps for powering Fire TV stick HDMI, VGA and all other ports have plenty of clearance and the direction they lead from the TV is flush toward the side or bottom rather than needing to stick out the back. Nice having 3 HDMI input, VGA input, and other video inputs. I thought it odd that the composite video input does double duty as one of the YCbCr jacks. Cons: Audio is low. Once you turn it up about 1/3 of the way, it doesn't get any louder. Although it has a 1/8" headphone output, the TV speakers are muted when anything is plugged into the headphone output (so you can't just run this to a supplement speaker and use both internal and external speakers this way). This headphone jack is not in a convenient place to plug in and unplug headphones. It is next to all of the other jacks in the back of the TV. I plan to run the Digital output to a stereo system. As of this review I have not tested if the volume control on the TV changes the digital output audio level (I may need to use my stereo's remote to change volume). There are no other audio "out" other than 1/8" jack and the TOSLINK jack. Not a "smart" TV. Solved quickly with a fire TV stick Mute button is in a weird position on the remote. The volume controls are in the middle and the mute button is way up at the top and is green(!?!) Sometimes the FireTV input changes to 720p when I switch to it (and it powers up). I have not determined if there is a place I can lock this to 1080p, but by forcing the TV to 1080p manually, the stick changes to the proper resolution.

We purchased this for a small family room in our new home, as our 60" is to big for that room and was relocated to the man cave. I was able to catch this on sale and I am happy with the purchase. The sound is typical for tvs in this range, but honestly I have never liked basic Tv sound on their own. Since we always have surround sound attached the base sound is not a factor. The screen looks pretty good and the footprint is small. The Tv is very light and slim and I am happy with this purchase. I look forward to many years of service.

I was first off extremely impressed at the price of this tv. 40" for $170. Best buy/Westinghouse, you are awesome. Ive only had the tv for about a month but I am very satisfied with my purchase. I bought an apple tv to go along with it and I have been in viewing pleasure heaven ever since. The tv is very easy to set up and lightweight. The picture quality is great. The only minor hiccup I had, that some reviews mentioned, was the volume. When you first start watching tv the volume is too low, even turned all the way up and the quality is not the best. I just went to the audio set up page and changed a few of the settings. Problem solved. The sound quality is much better and the tv's volume goes extremely loud at the highest setting. I fall asleep watching the tv and when i wake up i find that the apple tv has turned itself off and in turn the tv has also turned itself off. Thats a cool extra. Hopefully this tv holds up long term because I am a very happy customer at the moment.

one of three westinghouse tv's i own. this tv has a great picture and better than expected sound but the remote, tuner, on screen displays options, and 4 leg base makes it inferior to the other two.

This is my second 40 inch Westinghouse. You won't find a better TV for the price. My first one is still going strong, but after moving into a home with more rooms we wanted another TV. The speakers are on the back though so the sound is weak. If you get a soundbar you can easily fix that issue. If you are gaming with a headset you also eliminate the sound issues altogether. Thin and light with a good picture. I'd buy another if I had another room to put a TV in. Would be 5 stars if it had better speakers.

Bought this tv for a bedroom and it is the perfect size. It was so light and easy for one person to handle and set up and the picture is perfect. Really happy with this purchase.

It's big, it's cheap, and it's amazing! Was surprised by how big a 40" really is, and for the price of a 32, you can't go wrong!

For the price of the TV you can not find any better. We bought this for Outside watching. At the moment we carry it in and out when we sit in front of the fire place for Thursday Night Football. Great TV with Great Sound and a very clear picture!

Crisp 1080p HD picture, good color, plenty of connections. Sound quality is average or below. I have not been able to find a light sensor mode in the menus. Over-the-air tuner reception is not good. Our boys use this to play video games, so it is pretty much all they need especially considering the low price.

Easy to use, very light weight. Also very good sound.
